  • This isn't a fanfare!

  • God save the Queen!

  • Going by the St. Patrick's blue plume in the righ side of the Drum Major's bearskin, looks like the Irish Guards? Or is it another Guards regimental band being LED by an Irish guards DM? Fantastic sound. I had a small group here in SoCal that performed as Guards here for British business events and two Royal events. I have all the 5 regimental uniforms collected except need 2 more bearskins. :)

  • LEFT RIGHT LE<<<<FT HA LEFT A HHH a RIGHT LEFTAHHHH,

  • they look like the army from the wizard of oz

  • @lynchi33 LMAO!!! now that you mention it....

  • LONG LIVE THE QUEEN!!!!!

  • I don't think any other country honors their Royal family, quite like the British.

  • Why the booring colours? Looks like something that would suit the soviet forces in WWII.

  • @Agrikultur They are wearing their winter uniforms. They only wear the scarlet tunics in the summer.

  • @TJJ5621 well atleast they've got some kickass hats.

  • Buckingham Palace is misspelt.

  • This is simply NOT a fanfare. In some languages, such as Dutch for example, a fanfare is some kind of band. In English a fanfare is a piece of music of a certain type, and this isn't it. This is a Guards band playing a military march. A fanfare, usually played only on trumpets, is something like a bugle call but more complicated. It is a salute. For example to mark the arrival of someone or the beginning of something.. Search for "Trumpet fanfare"and see what I mean.

  • @superbetty84 If you're referring to the Drum Major then I think you need to have a bit more respect for our Armed Forces.

  • @mouchel1995 This is nothing to do with 'Respect' Dont be so fucking patriotic!

He just looks like a muppet. You need to relax and less of the patrionism..Talking of respect , i have served with the Royal Marines for the last 2years. Dont give me this shit about respect.

  • @superbetty84 I'm not being "fucking patriotic." I am defending the rights of our Drm Maj. He puts his life on the line everytime he comes to work, as do yourself and I.

  • @superbetty84 I feel I am in a perfectly good position to request that you do show some respect, and if you do have these invalid views - then keep them to yourself rather than spreading them on the internet and offending many people. Just because I was the only user to reply, does not mean I was the only person who thought your previous comment was totally outrageous, but I was simply the person who was brave enough to confront you about this. Kind Regards.

  • @mouchel1995 I agree with you , i'm pretty sure at the time i was either drunk or with freinds. Though this still does not give me any reason to be both disrespectfull to the Drum Major nor yourself. Yes no doubt many people have thought "What a dick" When reading that but i have removed the comment to save this happening again and also just the fact that it's stupid.

    Regards.

  • ZzzZzzZzzzzzzzz

  • I LOVE THESE GUYS.

  • Bad discipline, not in tact. But what do you know...

  • marching with a french horn?

    wow

    news.... get a mellophone

  • News... Mellophones are terribly out of tune instruments and have a much more brassy and trumpet like sound than a french horn. Used because people can't march well with them since they screw up their hand positions to just hold them up and uneven projection of ensemble sound.

  • i know this

    i play mello

they are amzingly out of tune

    and its all lip

and marching with concert instruments like french horn and a concert tuba is dumb

  • It's not dumb, they have a much better sound and much better intonation and playability. "It's all lip" what's that supposed to mean? Tubas and French Horns aren't concert instruments, they are the REGULAR instruments (would say original but even those instruments evolved from other instruments). Many of the best parade groups use(d) regular tubas and sometimes horns and their leaders (who are most likely much more intelligent than you) had a reason for doing so other than to just be "dumb"

  • its all lip- when playing mello you pretty much use your lips all the time for tuning

since its hella outta tune wack lips dont help

and when i mean dumb i dont really mean dumb

    i mean awkward

    and when i say concert

    i mean non marching

regular tubas ar awkwarrd to carry and weird to march with

  • My band has marched with tubas for over 125 years, they have never had any problem. And marching with a French Horn is much easier physically speaking than such instruments as mellophones.

I suggest you consider not commenting the next time you wish to label another culture "dumb".

  • its done in almost every fanfare here

  • The Band of the Grenadier Guards, no less!!

  • Technically they should be the Chasseur Guards !

  • I'm sorry Gregory, I don't know

  • what are they playing

  • The first March is "Colchester Castle" followed by "Light of Foot".
