I lived in Ohio, and I have been to Athens twice. The first time was with my family, and we were lost and drove around the asylum purely by accident. Window curtains were twisted in knots. Very creepy. It took me and my brother days to get over it. The second time I was much older, in college, visiting a friend at Ohio U. I didn't get back to the asylum, but Athens itself still creeped me out thoroughly. There's something very instinctively unsettling about that area.
