Rory Gallagher was one of the best but so is Joe! Calling this shit and saying it fails is ignorant. I've listened to both many times and I like Joe's version better. Joe has more feeling than 95% of the shitty guitarist that produce "music" in the modern scene so get off his case. And Joe isn't trying to play like anyone but Joe Bonamassa. Joe is playing not Rory so it's not going to sound like Rory playing it. Common sense.
This is a great cover! I am sure Rory Gallagher would be proud of it! One of the reasons Joe Bonamassa is such a good guitarrist is that he makes us remember of other good guitarrists!
So great to hear Joe do this song by Rory Gallagher! Rory was a good friend of mine and I miss him! I'm so glad that Joe is playing a Rory song. Like someone said , I wish more people knew who Rory was. He was an incredible musician and a wonderful person!
@masonking12000 Man, if you were a friend of Rory Gallagher you deserve a place in my hall of fame! He was one of the guys i admired (still admire) the most. I still remember when I discovered his Europe Tour and and it knocked me out.
Jesus christ this is desperate crap. I thought the Edge was the only one who mastrubated with effects pedals. Its simple JOE . GUITAR, LEAD, AMP, PLAY. Stop destroying killer tunes.
@kevvfarr Good thing Rory never used pedals... Except for a wah... and a tube screamer... and a flanger... and a chorus... and a delay... and a treble booster... and several Boss overdrives...
As good a guitarist as he is, this just fails in comparison to Rory Gallagher, its not even in the same league. Just watch the Irish Tour version and it becomes oh so clear.
@HawkwindMaster yeah i agree, his brand of blues doesn't hit me in the chest like the "authentic" stuff. I think its the fact everything has this heavy on beat, over the top playing and every lick is stolen off someone else who he isn't as good as. man, i don't get the hype. watch his bb king demo... i was just aghast.
@tailspinheadwack This is taken from " new day yesterday live DVD" which was recorded on December 2001 in Fort Wayne Indiana. After a lot of searching I have just got my hands on a copy from the states. Impossible to find here in England.

So many guitars and can't play a single note like rory could.

Pretty lame compared to any of Rory Gallagher's versions. He just doesn't have a clue how to play like Rory did.

@NicholasSemple totally agree, but atleast he covers him and knows who he is... and if more people my age knew who he was

@NicholasSemple pretty much, but i'm just glad he's promoting the great Rory gallagher to an audience who wouldn't pick up on him on their own.

To HawkwindMaster: Because he CAN......PLAY that is.........

Why does this guy make a living off making seriously sterilised blues-rock and raping great tunes by Rory Gallagher, Jethro Tull etc..?
