I have fascial tissue damge in this region..it has crippled me and caused so much grief in my life...constant spasm rock-hard psoz and illiacis.anyone who can offer help??this tissue doesnt heal
Hi MassageNerd, are there any considerations when performing STR or deep tissue massage to psoas with people who have ulcerative colitis? What would you advise? Thanks, R.
This guy is so good and explanations and side notes...I am completely captured by the info. Feels like I am back in massage school as a new therapist again. Whoevr you are, I wish you taught classes in California!
Not enough time spent on the muslce to effectively change it. I mean yes, we can touch this muscle, but is it really an appropriate technique to release the psoas major? I love you, but I disagree with this technique.
I dont think it will work. Psoas muscle is too deep. massaging it will cause surrounding muscles to increase its tone thus making it even harder to manipulate. I might stretch the muscle instead.
Easier way to work on the psoas, is have the leg flexed and pushed slightly to the medial aspect of the body. This slackens the iliopsoas muscle so it's not so uncomfortable for the client
Why wouldn't you go above the navel? Psoas is T12-L5, make sure you get the entire muscle!

@Thesmsg it's a demo video. you can spend as much time as you need on your clients. The technique looks great to me.
