  • Didn't know they did that thing with the "c" thanks

  • Thanks! !

  • Thank you so much ! I did not think about putting The whole potato in there... Very good idea... from the time they are born to the time they are beetles and laying eggs Does it take 4 monthsto? Great video thanks again..

  • @Teddybearcop48 It takes a good 4 to 5 months from egg to beetle. Slow process when raising superworms.

  • Yeah I'm going to try to breed rats but I can't find this food thanks anyways.

  • Where do you get your rodent pellets? I can't seem to find these anywhere for a decent price

  • @MrAlexMicallef I had gotten those from my son when he was breeding rats for his snake. I don't know where he got them from. When I was breeding superworms I was using bran and thought I would add some of his pellets to see if it helped there growth. I couldn't actually tell if they were eating them or not,

  • I see in my home worms turning black and dying... Must I do put peninicilin in there food?

  • Superworms, Crickets and Waxworms for sale Ozamiz City Philippines here

just contact #09161883149 for order meetups of shipping.....

  • is it normal that beattles eat each other?

  • @2DAREPUBLICAMEXICANA I guess it's possible, I never seen it though.

  • @moose9900 dam it 2 more dead this morning the legs and belly was eated by another beetle. This is weird. There something wrong with a beetle. The thing is that i only have like 12 now

  • @2DAREPUBLICAMEXICANA You need more moisture and if they are brown keep them seperated until they blacken up. It means they are still soft and likely to be cannibalized by other beatles. As long as they have food, moisture and s place to lay eggs they will be fine. Another thing, as I said earlier, leave the dead ones in there. They might have died by natural causes but the other beetles will eat the dead ones for extra nutrition so you don't waste anything.

  • @Asmodeiful well for moister I put apotato and carrots shoul i put something else for moister?

  • @2DAREPUBLICAMEXICANA Yes it's completely normal. They cannibalize each other on a regular basis. Also I've found you shouldn't need to bother removing dead ones from the bin, as they will eat those too. The babies will eat them too once they hatch.

  • @2DAREPUBLICAMEXICANA Yes, if they’re dehydrated, they will eat each outer for moisture. Keep them hydrated by feeding them baby carrots and whole tiny potatos with the skin on.

  • @MEGAONE302 What about if a put some water will that help?

  • @2DAREPUBLICAMEXICANA don’t use water, it will cause green mold in the bedding.

  • @MEGAONE302 ok

  • @MEGAONE302 what happens if I get some green mold? I just found out that I have baby muties, I mean baby super worms.

  • @2DAREPUBLICAMEXICANA If it's not a lot, you can pick the mold chunks out, then leave the top off and let substrate air out.

  • @2DAREPUBLICAMEXICANA the black mature ones will harm or sometimes eat the light brown young beetles

  • @frankcastle841 what about the baby muties (superworm) are they safe from the beetles?

  • thanks,nice job

  • good job.sound like u are tired :0

  • Do you have to use non medicated chicken mash? I just bought chicken feed that's medicated from southern states. If not I'll have to try and exchange it.

  • @moorm8 Recommended to use non-medicated. I always used non-medicated. Wouldn't want to take a chance on using medicated, could cause damage to whatever consumes it. Just my pinion.

  • Dear Moose9900,

Do you leave the lids open on the boxes where the beetles are??? Are they able to crawl out of the plastic? Thanks!

    -Maria

  • @brymche When I was breeding them, yes. I never had a problem with escapes. The beetles can't climb smooth plastic or fly. The worst I had to worry about were the bran moths that would get into the bran that I used as substrate.

    -Greg

  • @moose9900 Thanks! Do they smell since I read somewhere that they are stinky and in the stink bug family... like those big black ones.... do they?

    -Maria

  • @brymche I don't recall any odor. The beetles never seemed to smell when I would transfer them from one bin to the next. I would use a pair of tongs to pick them up and transfer.

    -Greg

  • @moose9900 Thank you very much,,, very helpful. One more question... How long after you put them in do they start to pupate... I've heard it's around 10 days, but I don't know because mine are in their own separate bins and they have been in there for a day already, yet they are still wiggling around... mostly they just lay there, but if i accidentally bump the table, they start moving around and wiggling in their oats..... is this supposed to happen?

  • @brymche 10 days about right and the wiggle is normal.

    -Greg

  • @moose9900 Ok, thanks for the info. :D

  • Thank you...The substrate (wheat bran) would be changed when it looks like sand. The potatoes, I would cut in half, place face down in the substrate and the superworms would eat and clean them out from the inside out, never had to remove if placed face down in the substrate. Just peel would be left. Carrots remove when to hard or dried out. Fresh fruit, remove after 24-48 hours to prevent molding.

    -Greg

  • great video sir. Hey, how often do you change out the carrote/potatoes/etc.....they can get moldy after a while and/OR DRY out...please give feedback and have a blessed day!

  • have a question my beetles i just recently notices they died out i fed them when they needed is their a reason they died i think it could of been they laid their eggs how long after a beetle dies do u see baby super worms

  • @WinnipegBeardieBubba typically baby super worms can be seen 2 weeks if you have very very good eyes, but its usually more around 3 1/2 weeks. All beetles should be removed after 2 weeks of being together, you can put the beetles into a new container with new substrate to have them breed again.

  • how to tell if superworm ready to pupae?

  • @pokermaniac0978 From my experience, when you see them come to the surface and walk around the tub for a day or so and there at least 2" in length, then you separate them into small containers to stress them out. After a few days, if they're ready they'll pupate. If you separate them at less than 2", they usually end up dieing. After they pupate, it can take another 10 days before they emerge as a beetle.

    -Greg

  • can u use raisin bran?

  • @xxxHiHaterzxxx I don't think so. Its not the same as wheat bran. Most people use wheat bran or oat meal, etc. I had used wheat bran and corn mash combo.

    -Greg

  • @xxxHiHaterzxxx oats are the best bedding while they are worms. But you want to keep beetles on a 1/2 inch layer of wheat bran. keep the babies on this for 3 weeks after removing the beetles. The wheat bran is better for them when very small because it gives them better traction which they need to get to the water source wether it be carrots or potatoes.

  • Greg, i am breeding my superworm back here and was having trouble. I am using Rice bran as bedding for them and yet more then 100 of them together in the same container. I notice that i have too many of them dying daily. So Greg, may i know does the volume of worm in the same container count? any recommendation

  • @exposeding I have not used rice bran but wheat bran works good. Supers need warm tropical conditions. They have to have plenty of moisture in the way of carrots, potatoes, etc. I use to have thousands in one container. I always kept temps above 72 and they did fine. They did better at around 85. Never refrigerate or expose to cold temps for to long a period. Supers are also cannibalistic if there is not enough food or moisture.

    -Greg

  • HI.. is it normal that there are dying pupas before they turn into a beetle? pls answer! thanks.. :)

  • @gianolrac Sorry for delayed response, I don't always get email notification of post. Superworms like it warm and need moisture. Check your temps to make sure its warm enough and disturb them.

    -Greg

  • hello sir! i have a question pls do answer.. im also breeding but just started.. is it normal that there are dying superworms when you separate them?? :)

  • wat happened to your monitor

  • @tomcatpilot13 I got rid of her awhile back, need to make room and she was growing fast. I had originally given her to my son. He unfortunately had to giver her up to because of a new baby. She was given to a good home and is doing great.

    -Greg

  • plz help:

i got some super worms, and i want like to breed them like i do with my mealworms, but superworms are different

i dont have much space in my room..

so can i just do that:

get the biggest juicy worms from my big container and put them to pupate, and when they turn into beetles can i just pu the beetles back in the big container with wood shaving as substrate and let them mate, and lay the eggs ther, and wait until those eggs hatch turn into big superworms and keep doing that?

    thnx!

  • @victorhugomuzi No, you'll need several containers. One for the main worms for feeding off, one for the pupa to turn into beetles and breed and one to transfer the beetles after a couple of weeks. You'll need to transfer your breeding beetles every couple of weeks into a fresh container with wheat bran or oat meal, as substrate. The worms and beetles eat and breed in the substrate. If you don't rotate beetles, you won't have many if any worms to raise. They cannibalize and eat the eggs.

    -Greg

  • @moose9900 so can i get a container for the big and medium worms, a mini container for the turning into pupa, and another for beetles, eggs and hatcling worms? is that ok?

cuz u know i dont have much space.

but one thing, when i look for medium worms in the beetles breeding container, by just messing it and looking for worms, does it kill anything like the eggs?

    thnx alot mate!

  • @victorhugomuzi That may work. Just remember the beetles may eat the eggs, that why I say separate. But since your limited on space, you use whatever works. Good luck on your breeding project.

    -Greg

  • @moose9900 ok, but what eats what?

the beetle eats.. the worm pupa or what??

    how about the mini babys?

    and the big worms?

    which eats more?

plz answer so i can figure out

    sorry =X

  • @victorhugomuzi The beetles will eat the eggs and the babies that hatch first may eat some eggs too. The big worms will eat others too if they don't have enough moisture like a piece of potato.

    -Greg

  • Do you use a heat source or just room temp?

  • @Bacula3 I never used a heat source on the worms, just room temp as long as its above 70F. Superworms are from a tropical region and require warmth. They don't tolerate cold temps below 68F very well. Never refrigerate either like mealworms.

    -Greg

  • Cool video! Do you know if bluebirds like superworms?

  • Thanks...I would imagine bluebirds would probably eat smaller younger ones.

    -Greg

  • Hey greg can you do an update video on your superworms? Thanks!

  • do u sell superworms too?

  • I was planning to when I get my stock back up again.

    -Greg

  • How many insects do you breed?

  • 5 species of roaches and superworms.

  • Very food video

  • wow awesome video very good information thank you

  • That was a great video on how to breed i deffently liked now i know what im doing wrong with mine.
