These were all composed by Manuel Velez of Cebu and were all originally written in Cebuano by the composer. Kulasisi was composed by Cebuano Zacarias Ravina

I would say that Sylvia la Torre is probably the best Filipino singer ever, in terms of technical execution. She has great skill and personality. The only problem I have with her is that she only ever sings Visayan songs (like this one) in Tagalog. She sings songs about Visayans, she sings Visayan songs in Tagalog, she'll sing in Spanish and English and Ilocano, but I've never heard her utter a single Visayan word.

It's sad that old recordings are lost. Lilian Velez of Cebu (daughter of the composer of the song Manuel Velez) sang the song in it's original Cebuano version and also in Tagalog and Ilocano versions. I wish I could hear these versions.
