Wild mage is a variant on the wizard i believe and the statement of sorceress obviously just a title used by the player they are following wizard rules
What I dont get, Luster is a sorceress. Means she can cast spells she knows more then once (that is, acually, a wizard thing). But I guess it fits the plot.
Oh and sorcerers dont read books. "Wild mage" means they learn by doing, not by the books.
Anyone else notice that at the start of the first scene the "chick" wizard is lying sorta snuggled on top of the female fighter? LOL
Also I wonder how many takes were needed for the monk's player to roll that one? (in The Gamers they said it took something like 75 takes to roll the 20, those who've seen the DVD outtakes know what I'm talking about).
Wow, this video makes me rly want to play. I am kinda a wannabe gamer. I play plenty of PC games and know the basic DnD rules but I am only thirteen and it's a bit overwhelming, different versions and stuff. I am in a bit over my head, if anyone has some pointers and tips to get me on the right track it would be greatly apreciated
I am a 13 year old and I have been Playing DnD Since I was 7 with my Brother and friends you just have to have a good mentor/teacher and a good frinedship bond to get good at remembering the rules i play 3.5 and 4th addition mostly.
Well, monks at Level 9 have a +6 natural modifier to all of their Saves... which means Brother Silence must have at least a 12 WIS score (if he has the Iron Will feat) but judging by the effectiveness of his Stunning Fist, I'm willing to bet his WIS score is more in the range of 16-17, granting a +3 WIS ability mod, concurrently making his Will Save a +9.
From being the thief who steals a man's pants to a hungry peasant. The Gamer's Thief is coming down in the world. Also, nice Knights of the Dinner Table Reference there "I waste him with my crossbow!"
They're supportive characters. Good at information gathering, utility spells, and of course inspirational music. They're actually a lot better than the film makes them out to be. (for the lulz)
To those who post and watch this- please know that if this keeps people from buying the DVD, you're aren't taking money from some faceless mega-corp, but from struggling artists & gamers who devoted years of their lives to this... and collaborators like myself who are juggling multiple jobs and family to try to make things like this. Not to get preachy, but getting cheap and stealing from indie filmmakers is just lame. If you enjoyed this, please buy the freaking DVD! It's not that expensive!

Sir Osric: What do you have against peasants murderous trollop?
Luster: Just a general, all purpose loathing...
[a few moments later]
Flynn the Fine: [singing] Shut up, dear peasant, rest your head. Or I'll have the sorceress kill your ass dead.
Lodge: Amazingly the peasant is no longer panicked.

Players and DM are not supposed to play "against" each other at all, don't know why it is always presented like this in the Gamers.
ravemhoe 2 years ago
Because that is how it ends up with immature "power-gamers". The whole point of the movies is to make fun of "power-gamers" :)
