Wow. This is just... amazing. This song applies to me so much, it's almost scary. I've been thinking about stuff like this for a while. I think such deep thoughts about life, and I have such unexplainable feelings about it, too. I sometimes wish life was like math; having one solid answer. But the reality is, we can't have one. All the choices we make are part of the equation, but depending on the choices we make, we all get different answers.

I think the relation with mathematics and the song is because of the confusion, all the different paths to go to the same answer, equations, locks and chains with keys and gates. Like life, there's so many right and wrong answers. So it has some relation to mathematics.
