  • BA is using the 777 to Rio de janeiro.

  • 貴重なビデオ有難うございます!

    地球の反対側の日本にご招待いたします。

  • Yeah, it must be a BA 777, at 0:06 their accent sound quite British.

  • It is much more difficult to program a VCR than to fly one of these airplanes.

How do I know? I fly one. It is very boring.

  • Which airline?

  • @BrenoGraciano BA id guess from the crews accent. haha

  • I don't understand, when the crew captain say the rules of the flight, like:Turn of the cell phone, turn of the video cameras,etc...so,how this guy(of the camera) is making a video of this landing? With his camera turned ON....how it's possible?

  • @felipegames12 it really is a stupid rule. Cameras dont interfere with anything onboard the aircraft. If it was a serious issue, then wouldn't it just make sense to not allow cameras in carry on luggage?

  • why do pilots turn off the A/P so early??? in the flightsimulator i turn it off about 500 ft in the air before touch down. i know its different but im curious. I want my flightsimulator expirience to be more real until im a pilot!

  • @ThePilotBuddy because they are highly trained professionals who can do it and it is safer for the pilos to take control.

  • @haasy8976 oh, thank you great answer!

  • @ThePilotBuddy well basically there are three different procedures: Cat I( about 2500 ft), Cat II ( about 1200 Ft and Cat III which is 500 ft but there's also the CAt IIIc, it's generally used when the visibility is 0/0 and you only disconnect the autopilot after you've landed. Unless there's no visibility at all, manual landings are way safer simply because you have a human being at the controls, not a computer.

  • @Virginatlantic100 Yes I think this is a British Airways 777, In fact I'm almost positive it is.

  • Is this a British airways Boeing 777. Do anyone know.p.s I enjoy it. and my dream to be a pilot

  • Is this a British airways Boeing 777. Do anyone know.p.s I enjoy it

  • nice landing

  • Very good video, but, what is the company??? Where this flight is coming from? I don't think it is Alitalia by the way because the pilots are inglish even though they may have inglish pilot, I don't know...

  • Cidade Maravilhosa

  • Did I see the captain engage the thrust reversers but never use them?

  • Que zona! Um aproxima, outro assume quando visual....depois um pousa, o outro abre os reversos....nunca vi isso

  • trancebeliver that is the autopilot disengage alarm. after that it is in manual control. I am a pilot btw so I know.

  • great video.

    check out my videos

  • Nice job, beautiful landing in Rio, thank you for published.

  • nice vidio, back in the days they didn't have speakers that tells u how high u r,i have always loved boeing and,if it is no't Boeing no body is going and, flyig scare bus is my least favorite plane, thanks 4 posting!

  • Stable approach after AP Dis...followed by a soft touch. Still can't believe the A/C only has 8 items for Landing Checklist. Aint technology amazing? "If its not Boeing, I aint going." :-)

  • "lol about the dvd but on a flight that long you would have an extra crew (relief pilots) to take over for a short while during cruise while the main crew rest (some 777s have a crew rest area above the main deck). In the cockpit pilots moniter whats going on and look at the amazing views or socalize with their collegues."

i thought they just used autopilot. when i flew B744 to LA from auckland, new zealand it was a 14 hour flight there were no other relief pilots

  • British Airways ?

  • do u guys know what is the most diicult Boeing 2 fly?

    guess

    Boing 707!

    belive it!

  • I am amazed when I see videos like this. Huge pieces of machinery like that, all controlled by two highly trained people operating all of those knobs, switches, controls, computers....it's mind boggling to me, and very impressive!

  • im one

  • @smitty195 Its really not as bad as you might think most of the plane is automatic my dad went through training on the 777 for COA and it took him 6 weeks to get his FAA type rating. A lot of it has to do with knowing where the switches are which actually doesn't take that long. The only difficult part is the systems test in which they have to take which consists of all the aircraft systems such as, pneumatics, flight controls, flows, etc.

  • @tyty737 Interesting. Thanks for the info!

  • What airline?

  • I think is Alitalia, because the user has an italian profile, and I'm italian.

If is Alitalia this is Boeing 777-243.

  • I am Italian, but I work for British Airways.

  • Sei pilota? Se sì su quale macchina lavori?

  • Si, first officer 747-400.

  • Thank you!

  • @MarcoTheTrombon I understand its a 777 but whats the 43 in it mean?

  • @yankeefan30 Boeing has different order numbers for different airlines. Alitalia's order number is 43.

  • what the sound at 0.15 and why don't they continue flying the ILS this must be equipped with CATIII, also why is the first officer the one landing the plane doesn't the captain do those sort of things or do they switch round

  • the captain isn't always landing the plane! CATIII??? there was a great weather condition. they were able to see more than 10 miles!! I think its great when pilots land their planes manual!

  • thats the pilot changing the position of hes seat. Its the electrical motor inside the seat.

Like app1993 why would you do and autoland if the weathers perfect?

  • i dunno but its probably quite difficult to fly vis in a 777

  • haha yes it may look like that but with the time a pilot will be able to do a great landing with a 777. Usually a landing by hand is smoother and the pilot can have some "fun".

I know some people will not believe this. Just have a look at other cockpit videos of Airplanes landing. If the visibility is ok, the landing will be flown by hand...

  • at what point will they turn a/p off when flying visual, also why does the copilot fly the approach and landing and not the captain?

  • it depends on the pilots and the visibility...

Sometimes they turn it off before lining up with the runway, and sometimes when already lined up during finals.

Well the copilot needs experience so the captain will let him fly. If the conditions would be bad (gusty wind, bad visibility etc...) the captain would be flying...

  • do you fly urself? what minimum age ba 777 copilot?

  • hehe no no would love to fly :-)

Well im not really sure about that. First you would have to enter there cadet programm (minimum age 18 i think) and then after a few years you maybe could be a 777 copilot. You would start on a smaller jet.

  • the captain taxis the plane. the co pilot takes off and lands most of the time. they do take turns. they hand fly on final

  • i friend flew 777s for american . he was copilot. i thought he said they take turns taking off and landing but never can he taxi. only the capo can taxi. anyway my favorite airliner...

  • True, mostly the copilot is on the way to the dest. the Pilot Flying, and the captain back. It's no rule but mostly the captain asks on the CP if he wants to do the first or second flight. And mostly first is choosen because copilots don't want to land on their home airport and captains doesn't care if they land on TNCM (Sint Maarten) or EHAM (Amsterdam). They did already hundreds of landings

  • The sound at 0:15 is one of the pilots changing there chair position :)

  • the galeao airport dont have CAT3, only cat2 (i think)

  • see the diference with brazil aviation...

perfect CRM, sad that our aviation is still not so safety in the

    cockpit...

    safety starts with pilots communication...

  • whats that sound at 0:28? Nice video btw...

  • Switching from autopilot to manual.

  • @mr2bmw thanks. Maybe verbal verification would have been better.

  • @mr2bmw of course not, is the middle marker signal!!!

  • @trancebeliever

that sounds come wen they turn off the autopilot

  • Qué aerolínea es y qué avión es???

  • British Airways 777

  • Nice!!

    Rio, wonderfull city!!

  • yesthe captain used the rev thrust...

  • did he use reverse thrusters?

  • Yes, you can heard the engine's sound just after the landing.

  • British Airways?

  • I would say so.

  • It's not an auto-land. Autopilot is disconnected at 0:28.

  • bet you they do

  • not autoland

  • It's not an auto landing, they disconnect the autopilot as ChrisCooper already said. Ignorant...

  • what? this was no autoland. In real life autolands are vey smooth, you are thinking FS. And any airline uses autoland when conditions are too bad.

  • Tremendous Flying

  • it's awesome

  • Beautiful airplane... I love 777...

    Great Video!!!

  • Whats that Sqweeking sound I keep hearing around :17?

  • Power seats

  • Trim

  • Camera auto focus is cool!!

  • Spoilers weren't fully deployed?

  • They deploy automatically. Look carefully.

  • yes because they were armed, when it lands it automatically deploy

  • exactly

  • no reverses? very nice!

  • He did use reverse engines. He engages the levers immediately the plane touches. Just incase, its the two levers that look like they sitting ontop of the main forward thrust levers.

  • How can you tell?

  • That´s a beautiful cockpit.

  • Still on a 777. In October, we are starting a direct flight to rio, I think that will be on a 747.

  • I thought BA stopped service to GRU/GIG with the 777, thats why they use the 744 now. I remember flying on a T7 to Rio, but now the route is operated with the 747.

  • What is that sound at 0:27 - 0:29??

Is that the GPWS or AP disconect sound?

  • ap disconect

  • thanks!!!

  • AP and A/T disconnecting...a modern boeing system called "fly by hand"... ;D

  • What do you do in the cockpit for 12 or 13 hours?? I want to be a pilot!

  • Most pilots have a portalable dvd etc, but must always maintain reading watch

  • lol about the dvd but on a flight that long you would have an extra crew (relief pilots) to take over for a short while during cruise while the main crew rest (some 777s have a crew rest area above the main deck). In the cockpit pilots moniter whats going on and look at the amazing views or socalize with their collegues.

  • How long of a flight is it from LHR to GIG?

  • We did that flight in 12.5 hours.

  • Do you fly over America or Africa?

  • We usually start off from the UK to the coast of Portugal, then right off the coast of Africa.

  • 777 Best Plane Ever!

  • nice!!! BA!(y)

  • what airline???

  • British Airways Boeing 777

  • rio is an awesome city
