This is not gregorian chant. I don't know much, but I do know that gregorian chant is MONOPHONIC. That means there are no different singing parts. Everyone sings the same thing. This is a nice song though.
It IS! beautiful. Most Orthodox is cacophonous. Very discordant. I, personally, can't stand to be present at an Orthodox worship service for too long a time because the noise is enough to make all my teeth fall out.
Plus, all the silly rigamarole at an Orthodox service is monotonous and asinine. That's why I go to an Anglican Low Church service that doesn't use music and have all the "bells-'n'-whistles" typical of the Orthodox.
Don't diss the Divine Liturgy or Eatern forms of Chant. I happen to like slavonic forms of chant more than most Western varieties. The complex harmonies weaving in and out of one another are awesome. Polyphony is a bit like that too. Why don't you like liturgy? The Jews were liturgical. Do you think they clapped hands and strummed on a guitar in the temple in Jerusalem? No! They burned insense, chanted psalms, rang bells. The Mass/Divine Liturgy/Qurbono reflect that style.
Que Dios os bendiga hermanos georgianos. Saludos desde España.
