Best DKC game ever IMO. I remember playing this game even when the N64 had just come out and games like Super Mario 64 and Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire were all the rage. In fact, I was somewhat let down when I finally beat K. Rool in Crocodile Core; not because of the ending mind you, but because I actually did beat the entire game and there was nothing else beyond collecting the remaining Hero Coins.

@123sporefan - Er, two things. Firstly, there WAS a recession in Britain (where this game was programmed) in the early '90s courtesy of the Conservative government at the time. Secondly, game designers have been oriented more toward profit than art for quite some time now. Certainly longer than the two-and-a-bit years this recession's been going on for.

Actually, IMHO, the only thing I didn´t like was the fact that from DKC 2 to 3, practically all the bosses were fought only by throwing objects at them.

In first DKC, at least the bosses varied a bit more in ways of fighting. Can still remember the industrial zone boss (the big oil drum with a skull).

About this one: totally agree... Kleever is the best boss of this game.
