I found all this out years ago by just going into a library and getting a book called"The Book of World Religions",which said the exact same thing about the "history" of man's religions.
No man can say there is no God. only for himself is God real or exists in his mind. man has given the creator an image of self and he not like self or anything that is created in this natural world. that is our mistake but there is a creator he does not fit the image of God they we find salvation in. man has fallen so far from the promise that God gave. I get your point that you are making, but I disagree with you. Take for example in Genesis, And God said let there be light, God rested. Immediately this God is assigned human attributes. Why would this superior being need to speak something into existence, or even rest ? Why is there a gender immediately assigned to this being ?

The fact that we ARE here has changed things irrevocably. It also proves that thoughts DO change the universe, because thoughts usually lead to words and then actions, and all actions have reactions (cause and effect), and that is the nature of the whole universe.
The Universe caused us to be, and we in turn effect the universe.
God exist in states of "matter" like water exist in states of matter. Water is not created it is changed from a gas, to liquid, to solid, back & forth through different phases. God always existed but was changed into a different form in 3X black darkness of the Great Cosmic Womb of the Universe, much like the child is born in the triple black womb of the woman. Man is the microscom & the Universe is the macroscom but God exist among His/Her creation as fallin man {loss of god consciousness}
anyways what this vers you talks about in the very begining of Genesis book mean G-d has made man very similar to him and gave him the abiility to do many things in his world hat makes his god-like look at this that way... you as human being superior to any other creation of anything he has made that has soul in it.. you superior to all animals and more intilligent
G-D has NOT made man in his image! this is a simple a misspell you read a translated bible don't forget it. real bible written in hebrew.
