@roadglide...pls. check s-ram product eg. crank set.....dura ace crank set, you can see a wide variety of crank set sizes and combinations....you may check out any known brands as well.....
boyBurgos....Hmmm...You mean 56 for the big chain ring and 52 foir the small chain ring...there is no crank of these sizes as you mention in your comment.
I've learned that tour d France bikers are using 56 for the first crank and 52 for the second. That's why they can maintain the ave. flat speed of 50 to 60kph.
@boyBURGOS No it isn't. They most often run a 53/39.
They also never average 50 kph. For example, Mark Cavendish won stage 7 of 2011 averaging 39 kph. Only when getting to the sprint do you see those intense peloton speeds.
Also, 120 rpm (close to Cavendish's sprint cadence) on a 53x11 will go 74.7 kph. More than enough and in fact faster than even Cavendish could go. Trick is simple: have powerful legs.
Also, no one makes a 52 inner chainring, just a 42 inner for TTs.

As I know , for flat stages pros use 53-42 front crank and variations of course , for hilly stages 52-38 and smaller .
