I think President Carter was a good and moral man and I believe he had good intentions when he became president in 1977 but good intentions don't always make an effective leader and he pretty well showed that.

If you look at C-Span rankings from last year, you'll learn that Carter ranked 25 out of 42. H ewasn't the worst out of all the presidents of the last 40 years because Nixon ranked 27 (but I do disgree with that, Nixon, in my opinion was better than Carter) and George W. "is our children learning" Bush ranked 36 out of 42. Bush was the worst, worse than Obama.
All of which were poor decisions...and by the way the departments of energy and education cause more problems than they solve. And social security is just a scam created by the Federal Reserve...besides that money is being used by the government and there isn't enough of it to give back.

President Carter got the peace prize too. You know Obama was nominated for the Nobel Peace prize twelve days after taking office. Upon acceptance of winning it, Obama was praised by the committee, "extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy". . They also gave the peace prize to Yasser Arafat, the leader of the PLO, the best known terrorist organization on the globe. This is like giving it to David Duke, the former Grand Wizard of the KKK.

In 1977 I watched this at my fourth grade teachers house. she took the whole class to view the inaguration at her house witch was just a short walk from our grade school. she also did the same thing so we could see the space shuttle do (piggy back) tests.this was when the space shuttle was mounted on the back of a 747. thanks Mrs. Klopp
what a great thing to do for her students, she knew these were great historic events and was wise enough to give us the opportunity to witness them.

Clinton and the Democrats pushed for the Community Recovery Act which pushed for more home loans for the poor who couldn't pay them back, which caused the banks to become bankrupt. Clinton himself put a man from his own cabinet to head up Fannie Mae, and it went bankrupt, which caused the current global recession/housing crisis, all because Democrats felt that people are entitled to home ownership regardless of their ability to pay back their home loans!

Clinton himself believed the Saddam Hussein had Weapons of Mass Destruction. Clinton also sent troops into Somalia and when that went badly, Clinton was forced to fire his secretary of defense, Les Aspin in 1993. Oh, and Clinton left office with a recession for Bush to handle in 2000.

For starters: Carter didn't get innocent people killed in Iraq for oil. Kind of strange how satellite technology can pick out a rat in a field yet they haven't been able to capture Bin Laden-the cause of 9/11... who was somewhere in Afghanistan---not Iraq.

What I find ironic is that President Carter was that he was a born again christian, the only president who ever openly admitted it, who found the time to teach Sunday school WHILE president and most Christians have more respect for Reagan, who NEVER attended church except during election years. As a president, Carter was mediocre but he was a great man nonetheless.

No president has been voted out in a landslide more than Carter (but Obama has a chance). He is frequently voted as one of the worst presidents in history. And if you listen to this speech, he is a HORRIBLE public speaker. he will always be remembered as Jimmy Peanuts with his idiot brother.

The Iran hostage was the least of his problems and one he could'nt control, even though there was a botched attempt to free them. How about remembering Carter for double-digit inflation, gas-lines and a reduction of America's military strenght. Carter couldn't get a lost group of Boy Scouts out of the woods. If you look at C-Span rankings from last year, you'll learn that Carter ranked 25 out of 42. H ewasn't the worst out of all the presidents of the last 40 years because Nixon ranked 27 (but I do disgree with that, Nixon, in my opinion was better than Carter) and George W. "is our children learning" Bush ranked 36 out of 42. Bush was the worst, worse than Obama.

All of which were poor decisions...and by the way the departments of energy and education cause more problems than they solve. And social security is just a scam created by the Federal Reserve...besides that money is being used by the government and there isn't enough of it to give back.
I will say that Carter was a very honest (unlike Obama) and decent man who restored faith in the presidency and that he was able to establish temporary peace in the Middle East
