  • What kind of failure has a green iPod nano?

  • this guy is a joke he's pissed he couldnt make it at best buy . way to get fired wuss

  • Well, my only advice is that you should have covered the best busy logo on your shirt up with something yellow along with the hat so it's arguable if anyone tries to come back at ya. Interest, but businesses are in it to make money, helping a customer comes on the same level so it's a balance. People gotta buy, companies gota sell, it's the way of the world, we can't do much about it.

  • HA! Jesus Christ guys. Ever see Scary Movie. Its a parody, a satire. Chill out.

  • " i trust you becouse you are non commission salesman"

  • This video is retarded. There was not an occasion where I saw the employee was actually doing anything wrong to the customer. Suggesting accessories to what the customer wants should be thanked. It's all for the help of the customer. And Best Buy employees do not work on commission, I myself am an employee and love my job becuase some people want to be educated in new technology and need somebdy to guide them through their purchase.

  • what dA F2ck

  • Thumbs and Toes up!

  • Also, the example with the iPod is actually a great example of excellent customer service. The customer didn't know that the model they wanted was not the Nano, so Mike carefully explained (in a non-condescending manner) that the model the customer wanted was the iPod Video. If he hadn't done this, the customer would have left the store with the wrong product, gotten it home, been frustrated it was the wrong thing, and brought it back furious. This way he gets what he needs the first time.

  • A. This video is old. The RewardZone card nows give you $5 for every $250, and it gets activated every $250. So if you buy a $750 TV, you get a $15 gift card in the mail a couple days later.

    B. Everything in the SCREW acronym was actually fine. See, Contact, Research, Encourage, Win? What was wrong with that? Seems fine to me.

    C. Nobody tries to attach a DVD player to a DVD.

    D. We really are non-commision, but we aren't supposed to tell people that unless they are coming back later.

  • Is it any wonder why U.S. is struggling? We are all looking to screw eachother rather than form good customer relations. it's never better product. it's better advertising. How can america trust an economy based around crap products, glitter ads, and kiss ass? meanwhile...here comes China.

  • This is stupid.

    I work at Best Buy,

and we don't work on commission.

And every person I work with is obsessed with helping the customer.

We never try to "screw" the customer over.

  • screw capatalism. Its modern slavery and most people dont even see it.

  • I think the person below me just contradicted themselves, no?

  • These people that say screw best buy are the no talent assclows that sit around all day and play wow, seldom go into the busy places because of fear of public contact...or live in their parent's basement and have no money of their own to spend on all the shit they wish they could have from Best Buy.

HAHAHAHHA! Like the other guy said, go shop at walmart where all your white trash needs will be fulfilled.

  • Screw Bestbuy

  • Agreed

  • i work at best buy too. This video is filled with false information but its not a big deal. We are supposed to suggest other things to the customer but things that are supposed to protect them in the long run. Our store is supposed to make money but what we actually make when it comes down to bills and taxes is barely profitable. Just enough to get through the week. So we're not the devil incarnate just another business trying to get by.

  • I work at Best Buy, we are not on commission. The warranties are the best there is (4 years on a single product? you cant get much better) We only add on when people need them. Like mounting kit and wiring harness for a in-dash cd player. and if so many people dont like best buy and its knowledgeable employees, then shop at white trash walmart where they cant answer the difference between CD and a MP3

  • ... that just amused me to no end! warranties from Worst Buy being the best there is. Truly made me giggle since I have never been able to get anything exchanged/returned or repaired even if I try the same day I purchased the item.

  • well you cant be and idiot when returning things, use common sense. think from the store's side, and the loss they would take if they took your returns for every little thing. Also, no other retailers offers 4 years warranties on products, and lifetime warranties on services. go ahead and shop at walmart for your shit, next time u buy a printer and yur pissed that the USB cable doesnt come with it, just think... if u went to best buy, they would have told you...

  • lololol, um... the warranty is crap. Trust me. I bought a laptop, it had a faulty motherboard AND hard drive. I didn't know that as i forked over cash for virus protection, spyware protection, a 3-year warranty, and to have Geek Squad set it all up. Then one day, it stopped turning on. It's been two years of fighting with customer service and they still say nothing is wrong with the computer they can't get to turn on!

Down with Best Buy and their Goon Squad!

  • IT's trying to sell, not screw.Mike did not screw him.He just mentioned some other stuff similar, he doesn't have to buy it, if he held a gun to his face, that would be screwing. And you would be surprised how many people feel stupid for not buying the warranty. Warranty saves you HUNDREDS in the end.Its not screwing. the customer doesnt have to buy anything. He is just informing to customer.THE CUSTOMER CAN SAY NO And for every $250they spend, they get $5 to spend back, and there is no limit.

  • The salesperson at our local best buy made us laugh in his face at his stupidity. He tries to sell us the monster cable, we say "no, we want the cheaper hdmi cable". He replies "but that doesn't do 1080p". The TV salespeople at best buy are the biggest scam artists on the planet.

  • Don't forget all the rip off waranties lol

  • lol I liked the video and I work for Best Buy...and I see a lot of people flaming the maker of this video...sure 80% of the video is false information but its kinda funny seeing how he blows everything out of porpotion...of course we are suppose suggest items for customers...i mean i'm sure you wont' want me to tell you to buy a usb cable for your new printer so you can't connect it to your computer and have to make a second trip just to pick that up...we don't suggest useless crap

  • I see nothing wrong with this. Businesses are for the making of money. As nice as it is to think that Best Buy was started because people deserve new technology, it's just not the case.

All retail stores are focused on making sales in a way that best suits both customer and company. As far as I can tell, Best Buy does a hell of a job doing exactly that.

How exactly do you think a retail store SHOULD operate?

  • Wow, I really don't know what to say other then I hope Best Buy sues the shit out of you for posting these lies. If anything, the dumbass that actually is in the video since he was stupid enough to show himself degrading the #1 Electronic Retailer in the world. Your next video should be "How Best Buy screwed me in Court". Let me know how it turns out!

  • Thumbs up!

  • Wow, SCREW = CARE+

Aside from the fact this is annoying bullshit, we aren't commissioned, and I for one HATE pushing shit people don't need on them.

  • I work at Best Buy, and I can honestly say that this is a load of shit.

We don't get commission, and we're payed fine to make up for it. get your ass in the know, or kindly shut it up.

  • Dude, 90% of this is bullshit. I get that you're a disgruntled ex-employee, hell--I'm a disgruntled soon-to-be-ex-employee, but you're not even making up lies that work. Care+ is stupid, but so is suggesting that a customer try to find 20 year old technology. If someone is still using VHS or LPs, it's not greedy to try and convert them, it's a fraking public service!

  • BBY employees are NOT on commission. I'll show you my pay stub. If everyone shopped on new egg or tiger direct the items would be in higher demand and the companys would need more employees to run, driving the price up.

I guess you pay more for the convienince of comming into the store, bothering the shit out of employees with stupid questions, then not listening to them and getting what you "think works" and walking out with that product instead of waiting 3-5 days for it to ship.

  • wow, what a dumb video. Awful.

  • LMAO

  • Very funny video....I belive 1/4 of the stuff is not true and the rest is.....Best buy is a nice store for shopping...but it is a business (That will try to make you spend every last penny in you pocket and bank account). As for most employees there I bet half of them hate pushing crap on customers...

    Oh well..Nice video :-)

  • Man retail is so stupid. There is absolutely NO REASON to buy hardly anything, especially at Best Buy. Places like newegg have 1: What you want, 2: Have the information you need, 3: They never change MSRP and have the price you want to pay, 4: They never slam warranties down your throat.

  • This is classic. I have been a vendor in Best Buy's store for a long time and I can say their sales tactics are DEPLORABLE. The store buyers specifically sell SHIT items, such as only HP's LOWEST END most expensive cost per page laser printers. They specifically tell vendors to attach items only available in the store.

  • FUCKIN' awesome. The SCREW strategy is exactly how CARE+ works! Digital Imaging at store 558 here!

  • So basically, if we dont recommend product, then we just get bitched at for not letting the customer know what else they need. Regarding warranties, we cover parts and labor on most things which can be an assload of money to fix or replace. Regarding all the new technology, its fuckin best buy...we're all about new technology. If someone had an old computer, theyre just gonna complain that its slow, or that certain stuff doesnt work with it

  • I work in the computer department, and yes, upselling is a technique we are taught. It not only gets people to buy more stuff, which helps Best Buy make money, BUT, if we dont recommend half the stuff we do like USB cables, or high Def cables, those same customers would be the little bitches who come back and say shit like "This printer didnt come with the usb cable, wtf!?" and "This video quality sucks..I thought it was high definition!"

  • Wow this has to be the stupidest video I have ever seen. First off, As an employee of best buy I can say that I dont work on commission.

  • This is hilarious if you work in retail.

  • Eh, no one is forced to by something, we as humans have that cognitive choice to say "no".

  • haha this is nothin i use to work at radio shack now that is where they screw costomers overprised products and we are told to give a credit card with every purchase no matter what

  • This would be funny, if it were all true. But since its not, it would be considered gay. Nice video Jackass.

  • So dumb....at least try to make it somewhat of a quality video.

  • okay first... i love you!

    second...i love marcus

Third... i have that ipod nano in green!! Go me!<3

and lastly...Salor moon??? wtf were u thinking...that made me die laughing!!

  • okay first... i love you!

    second...i love marcus

Third... i have that ipod nano in green!! Go me!<3

and lastly...Salor moon??? wtf were u thinking...that made me die laughing!!

  • For all the complainers out there, get a job at a retail store for 3 months and you'll know why this is funny. Also, is the customer David Jeter's brother or someothing? Looks alot alike.

HAHA.. Wheres the cable to record from the TV? I love it.

  • Am I the only one who sees no problem with any point made in this video?

  • I also agree. The S.C.R.E.W. technique is definetly in the training manual :)

  • You're a loser, and you'll die a loser, go grow up and quit being an emo bitch.

  • weak weak weak, im going to go out on a limb here and just say you failed at your job and want to point the finger and rationalize why you could swing it. Point is go flip burgers or move to a third world counrty where you be a giants amongst ants tool.

  • hahahahahahahahahahahaha my supervisor kills me if i dont screw the customer.

  • I dont see anything wrong with any of this as well. Except for the guy talking.

  • I used to work @ Best Buy also and my store was definitely like the video says. I did everything from OPS to sales. IT was so bad that the managers didnt even care about the associates as long as they go their bonus.

  • hahaha I also work at bestbuy, and I think that's awesome. "leni008" you gotta admit you have met a couple managers who want you to sell just like that. hahaha i love it. except for being on commission.. you dont joke about that ;)

  • thats pretty retarded like im not dissing you as a person or anything but i actually work at best buy and its not like that at all.. we really dont work on comission and we really arnt just trying to screw people... in fact we go through a ton of training so that we can help customers and judging by the fact that you have blues and a name tag im guessing you probably worked their to so i dont get why your being like this..

  • Yep, I agree. It's like they turned Care Plus into something evil.

  • Too funny- and sadly, too true. Loved it. definately didn't hurt that the 'employee" was pretty hot.

  • This is just lame. There was nothing inherently wrong with what the "employee" did, only the slant the author of the video forced onto it. In fact, the SCREW acronym you made up didn't even have anything bad in it besides the actual name.

And I agree that anyone who has to lie to sell products is a piss poor salesperson. You should be trying to sell the appropriate product without lies to the customer, not forcing a different product on them.

  • I don't like Best Buy, and the customer service is terrible, but this stuff is basic Retail 101. Any store trying to make money is going to do this kind of stuff. Capitalism, duh!

  • I'm sorry I don't actually see what's wrong with what was said except for the slant put on by the author. That's the sales process. Upselling isn't screwing, and they really are not commission sales.

  • At least that clerk knew what an iPod and a CD were. Most of the douchebags that work there wouldn't know an iPod from a vacuum cleaner.

  • pretty lame video if you ask me. I worked at best buy for quite a while and those points arent really that bad compared to some of the stuff that actually goes on there. I refuse to shop there because of how incompetent the sales staff in general is.

  • ohhhh the agony of working for best buy. I remember it well. Then i went and got a job at UPS- no lying required!

  • If ya had to lie, you fail as a sales guy and should stay far far from that industry.

  • if you think you can get away with not lying while being a best buy salesmen that's just because you changed your definition of what a lie is

  • Telling a non-truth, or omitting the truth. If you must do that, then ya don't deserve to sell.

  • MAKE MORE!!! These are great. I worked at BestBuy, and this is right on! I enjoyed screwing customers too :)
