@reactonick I watched the whole thing hoping to hear some insight on how he played Richie, and then all I hear besides meaningless banter is "I dont want to spoil the movie" etc etc :/ oh well
A History of Violence is a good movie. I would LOVE to see a prequel of the history of the two brothers. Ritchie has a version of a Philadelphia area accent.
William Hurt should do a movie where he plays 1980's spree killer Chris Wilder. It would net him his second Oscar for sure if the right director made it.
Great..a 4 minute interview where the interview talks for over 2 mins of it.....a great opportunity to hear from a great actor who doesn't interview that often....and the interviewer decides to waffle aimlessly and embarrasses himself , as well as the actor...sick to death of the modern "entertainment media"..who hires these losers?
I don't understand why those great critical aclaims to the film. I'm one of those that (personally, is a matter of tastes) didn't like the movie that much. Why I saw was no Cronenberg, was someone esle's job, Cronenberg's style is more... well, it gives for more. I think is a boring film.
Though, the acting of Hurt was great, yes, excellent, but... a legendary character? Yes, he stole the movie, but... I don't know...
The interviewer was babbling a little as you say but i think he was well and truly star-struck. After seeing what William Hurt is capable of doing, I would be too.
What a scene that is. I have seen it so many times.
"I'm pretty pissed at you broheim.." Amazing! thx for upload.
I hear people say History of Violence was poor, but it really is a great film and Hurt created a legendary character and performance in (I'm guessing) maybe 12 minutes of the film.
@alizee2010 - I just saw it for my first time , and I dont think it's poor. Even as a Cronenberg fan, it's so subtle! Every performance is nuanced, and I love how what's going on is all beneath the surface, not what you're being shown on the screen
HEY MAN SHOT THA FUCK UP! I want to hear William Hurt! -not your feelings
just few questions to WH!!! I want to know how he create that soooo absorbing person like Richie Cussack... HE STOLE ALL MOVIE, DUDE! WILLIAM HURT IS SO COOL. ;-)
Why is the interviewer talking more than William Hurt? I mean He's lucky enough to get him on his show and then babbles aimlessly. Doesn't even seem to have questions ready. Good luck brohim.
Totally lovely on both ends of the interview. William Hurt is one person I wouldn't mind having sit next to me at a dinner party that lasted forever. Fascinating, inventive, intelligent, and heartful.
Jesus Chuck! How the fuck did you learn to kiss ass like that?? Did you take a class or is it a God given gift?

Interviews must be the most cringe-inducing moments an actor has to experience, in my opinion.

Even William Hurt was thinking and practically saying - 'wtf is this?' It's not an interview - it's like hanging out with your coked up friend.

the interviewer was gushing......obviously he was awed to be in Hurt's presence which is understandable, but hey, professional ??

I believe that the interviwer is way to talkative and just the opposite of W. Hurt...The interviwer is annoying and noisy.
It must be very boring to be William Hurt when he meets interviwers like that. Or he is so professional that he doesn't bother.
