985 is actually quite a lot. It is naturally aspirated and if it runs on pump fuel that is a shitload. nitromethane is what gets you into the 8000s, alky is what could get you to 2000 and for this 1000 is pretty damn good.
IDK how any1 can say 985 HP is not alot!!?? WTF are u smoking? Maybe it's not alot in a Supercharged Honda making 985Hp w/ 300 foot pound of torque:) Lol. Now the torque is the straight business end of the car! HP is just kind of a theoretical calculation on how fast you can eventually get the car going. Torque is what really matters, because thats what gets you to that speed faster. This big block would make you shit threw your mouth at half throttle while smackin your momma in her cum guzzler!
Why do people keep saying oh "985 hp isnt a lot" Do you people not see the 818 lbs of torque at fucking 4200 rpm thats hardly even half throttle and ur shitting yourself.
@MegaPotato18 Actually your wrong. Blower is what a Detroit Diesel uses, not the same as a supercharger, it just pushes a constant pressure (around athmospheric pressure) into the engine of a 2 stroke detroit, but is not a supercharger. The term blower was transferred over tho because many "gasoline" people used the "671" blower as a supercharger. 671 is not a name for the blower, it is off a 6-71 (6 cylinder, 71 cid per cylinder) detroit diesel, and on a smal engine works as a supercharger.
@o56kid I did in my last comment. A blower is what a detroit diesel uses. If by centrifugal you mean a turbo, they use those too, but as a blower I mean a blower. A supercharger and blower forces air into an engine using gears or a belt, but a supercharger is built to force high pressure air into a gasoline engine. A blower was made to force 14.7 psi of pressure into a detroit diesel two stroke, and a turbo forces air into an engine using exhaust heat to turn it, which detroit also used
@outalinecowboy all you are saying is that a roots type charger is a blower on a 6-71 and a super charger on a gasoline engine. No matter what its on, a roots type or twin screw blower is the same as a super charger of the same nature.
They both create a positive pressure in the motor. . .
@o56kid I agree with you, but a 671 blower wasn't built for more than athmospheric pressure, a supercharger is built for more pressure. Thats the only difference. It just happens that a 671 blower can be modified to fit. Its kind of like putting a Mack turbo on a Cummins pickup engine. Yeah, it will work, but not to optimum performance. I was just explaining there IS a difference. A 671 "supercharger" is actually a blower etc etc.
@drh1111 Why? it wouldnt be able to to handle any chassis other than a racing chassis and i dont think hes racing this. He is after a true street N/A sleeper. He will go after people on the street that are supercharged/turboed. You wont hear any spooling or blow off, its just going to be a loud ass fucking beast ass engine. That engine will probally cause oxygen loss if you stand near it.
I love those inches. In every hot rod magazine I ever read about in the fasts street car shoot out, The winner of it all was the one that went bigger. You will never see a small block in top fuel!!!! Even a pro knows better.
@refusetoassimilate If you take two motors 572 and a 712 and do the same things to them. The bigger will always be one step ahead of the game in power. It's been proven time and time again.
Not in power, more in torque, one guy from Europe own Camaro with 632 CUI block and 6-spd Borg Warner. In 6th gear he drive 50mph at 900rpm. That's pretty sick. I'm not fun of american pushrods, but engines like 572, 632, 712, 780 sound like army of death.
@2jzgtejza80 Yes that's true. The torque shoots way up and the horse power goes up a little. But torque comes before horse power and if you get it all to the road it will easily put you out front.
@jcbiddulph ya but your driving it on the street. your not gonna use all that power unless your racing down the highway. With big cubes your after big torque nothing more. Nothing beats big cubes on the street.

"Horse Power sells, but torque wins races"
I'll list why.
Aerodynamics, light weight, gear ratios.
How many gears the transmission has-usually5-7.
The fact that they are V8s and V10s, with quite a large camshaft for it liter size.
And a LOT of power adders.
Example being a supercharger cranked up to over 13 psi.
And they put out more than that.
It's usually around 220 with a V8.

That thing is sick! Too bad you can't hear it
thugnut94 1 year ago
985 is actually quite a lot. It is naturally aspirated and if it runs on pump fuel that is a shitload. nitromethane is what gets you into the 8000s, alky is what could get you to 2000 and for this 1000 is pretty damn good.
PetrolDemon 1 year ago
IDK how any1 can say 985 HP is not alot!!?? WTF are u smoking? Maybe it's not alot in a Supercharged Honda making 985Hp w/ 300 foot pound of torque:) Lol. Now the torque is the straight business end of the car! HP is just kind of a theoretical calculation on how fast you can eventually get the car going. Torque is what really matters, because thats what gets you to that speed faster. This big block would make you shit threw your mouth at half throttle while smackin your momma in her cum guzzler!

I think he should super charge and/or put a blower on this engine
drh1111 1 year ago
@drh1111 a blower IS a supercharger, blower is just a slang word cause it 'blows' air into the engine
MegaPotato18 1 year ago
@MegaPotato18 the word blower is generally used for the huge superchargers that stick out of the hood..
wiihero01 1 year ago
@MegaPotato18 Actually your wrong. Blower is what a Detroit Diesel uses, not the same as a supercharger, it just pushes a constant pressure (around athmospheric pressure) into the engine of a 2 stroke detroit, but is not a supercharger. The term blower was transferred over tho because many "gasoline" people used the "671" blower as a supercharger. 671 is not a name for the blower, it is off a 6-71 (6 cylinder, 71 cid per cylinder) detroit diesel, and on a smal engine works as a supercharger.
outalinecowboy 1 year ago
@outalinecowboy Since you think you are so smart, explain the difference between a blower and a super charger. . .
I am not talking about centrifugal super chargers either. . .
o56kid 1 year ago
@o56kid I did in my last comment. A blower is what a detroit diesel uses. If by centrifugal you mean a turbo, they use those too, but as a blower I mean a blower. A supercharger and blower forces air into an engine using gears or a belt, but a supercharger is built to force high pressure air into a gasoline engine. A blower was made to force 14.7 psi of pressure into a detroit diesel two stroke, and a turbo forces air into an engine using exhaust heat to turn it, which detroit also used
outalinecowboy 1 year ago
@outalinecowboy all you are saying is that a roots type charger is a blower on a 6-71 and a super charger on a gasoline engine. No matter what its on, a roots type or twin screw blower is the same as a super charger of the same nature.
They both create a positive pressure in the motor. . .
o56kid 1 year ago
@o56kid I agree with you, but a 671 blower wasn't built for more than athmospheric pressure, a supercharger is built for more pressure. Thats the only difference. It just happens that a 671 blower can be modified to fit. Its kind of like putting a Mack turbo on a Cummins pickup engine. Yeah, it will work, but not to optimum performance. I was just explaining there IS a difference. A 671 "supercharger" is actually a blower etc etc.
outalinecowboy 1 year ago
@outalinecowboy oh..... thanks! you only learn from making mistakes...
MegaPotato18 9 months ago
@MegaPotato18 How do you think I learned the difference? lol
outalinecowboy 9 months ago
@drh1111 Why? it wouldnt be able to to handle any chassis other than a racing chassis and i dont think hes racing this. He is after a true street N/A sleeper. He will go after people on the street that are supercharged/turboed. You wont hear any spooling or blow off, its just going to be a loud ass fucking beast ass engine. That engine will probally cause oxygen loss if you stand near it.

818 Ft/Lbs of torque... Thats not fucking ridiculous or anything!

Now one question still remains, what do you put it in?
I say a VW bug. Like, old school V8 bug with the whole engine hanging out of its ass lol.

Going bigger in this case would not be worth it. What the hell would you put that thing in anyway?? You can get better hp from a 572 chevy crate!
refusetoassimilate 1 year ago
@refusetoassimilate If you take two motors 572 and a 712 and do the same things to them. The bigger will always be one step ahead of the game in power. It's been proven time and time again.
funnyman1972 1 year ago
@funnyman1972
2jzgtejza80 1 year ago
@2jzgtejza80 Yes that's true. The torque shoots way up and the horse power goes up a little. But torque comes before horse power and if you get it all to the road it will easily put you out front.

985hp from 712 cubic inches? i'm sure you could get ALOT more than that...
jcbiddulph 1 year ago
@jcbiddulph I'm sure too, but you have to remember this is a naturally aspirated motor. No turbos, super chargers, nitrous, etc.
arnoldii2 1 year ago
@jcbiddulph ya but your driving it on the street. your not gonna use all that power unless your racing down the highway. With big cubes your after big torque nothing more. Nothing beats big cubes on the street.
