Haha this was written as a poke at the Riot Grrrls, esp Bikini Kill (Kathleen Hanna in particular, she doesnt like her at all.) Hole is NOT Riot Grrrl, and she has stated that many times. Kinderwhore was not born out of Riot Grrrl. Riot Grrrl was a young feminist underground political movement in the early 90s that had its own soundtrack and involved meetings and such. Hole was not involved.

Everyone thinks that because they were contemporaries that Hole is part of the movement. In case they havent noticed, Hole is still around. Bikini Kill and the other "Riot Grrrl" bands are not. Babes in Toyland (Kat Bjelland's band) was also NOT part of Riot Grrrl. Do your research, people!

Born in California, raised in Oregon, moved throughout England, Ireland, and Japan when she was 16 and 17, and went up and down the West Coast of the US between Portland and Los Angeles, briefly to Minneapolis, up to Alaska, and back to Cali. "Went to school" is alluding to their feminist "schooling" and how Courtney thought they were phony. She never lived in Washington before she met Kurt, she grew up in Oregon, and she bounced around Europe before coming back to Oregon. She was a Portlander, and that was where she first met Kurt. She moved to L.A. where she ended up forming Hole in '89.

Rockstar has lines like "How'd you like to be Nirvana/I'd rather die." However the album covers had already been printed, so Rockstar is still listed on the album in place of Olympia.
