@maxman1602: you've nailed that utterly irritating design detail; additionally, its awkward ill-defined "forward projection", owing to a lack of definitive pitch/slope aka too high | raised front wheel hubs/surrounds throws the entire design off kilter; nonetheless, its other astounding features enable a tally score of B+, with many A+'s worthy of mention in the Automotive Design Hall of Fame.
If memory serves, the first 538 was badged "538 Duca D'Aosta" being entitled to the an italian gentleman who was a great Bizzarrini fan,and possibly the first owner of the car. This one off was engined by a Chevy and painted in a full white livery.
I've been to quite a few shows over the years and I've never seen this. A Bizzarrini itself is a rarity but this P538 is exceptional. Thanks for the post.
thanks evan. the owner of this car is a great guy too. really knows so much and loves to chat about the car and it's provenence. It is a really rare car. this one too has the Lamborghini engine...not the Chevrolet.

Bizzerini built two bodies for lamborghini,
one was the Miura V12 engined car as seen here,
there were two cars built for well off enthusiast's,
Seeing that maybe there would be some action in private drivers circle's,
but sadly it never came to pass,
The Miura engine car isnt the P538,
The P538 is the other one with the chevy 327 engine in it,
IE,.
They named it after the engine size,, Chevy 5,3 litre, 8 cylinder,
& P for prototype, or limited copy, or one off type car,
