CAN WE ALL FINALIZE THE DEBATE OVER "CYNDI VS. MADONNA" ULTIMATELY - IF CYNDI WAS TO HAVE THE CAREER (commercially) THAT MADONNA HAS ACHIEVED, SHE WOULD NOT HAVE WAITED TO PRODUCE A DANCE ALBUM UNTIL THIS ONE. NO ONE WANTS ANOTHER REHASHED VERSION OF A PAST HIT ON THE DOBRO..CHEERS.

@brouhaha09 The two artists took different paths. Cindy is a performance artist. she has always done what her heart has told her to do in odrder to stay true to her artistic vision. She makes art for arts sake, weather it's recieved well commercially or not. Madonna is a business woman. She has the vision to spot the next trend, and capitalize on it. that doesn't make her any less of an artist, it just took her career in a different, more profitable direction.

I am surprised with how good Cyndi's latest songs are. Many singers make comebacks but this one is a really strong one. I like echo the most. Have a listen to one of my dance songs if you care: "Absolutely free" can be found in my page. I just make music for hobby!

All these contemporary songs are all written to the same formula (and beat). Theres not a spark of originality in any of them. Yet - Still Cyndi manages to transform some pretty ordinary writing into an amazing vocal sound. I'tsdown to her - not the material. It's HER that makes them sound good. But let's face it - She could make the worst song in the world sound good. She's incomparable

Cyndi Lauper is incomparable! She is a true musical artist who has a passion for humanity (and not really about getting on top of the charts). Comparing her to Madonna is like comparing an apple to an orange. Times change but an artist's true colors will persist. :)

gaga is like a mini madonna ; seeing very early madonna interviews and pics it seems she too was fixated on andy warhol, just like gaga is.
gaga needs to be around for at least 20 years and be consistent to even be considered an icon. my feeling is she'll make her money and dissapear.....

Cyndi Lauper was one of the pioneers in the early '80s and now provides even more compelling music. I hope she knows she is this loved and respected. One of her songs was shared by my first love.
Comparisons to artists are not really relevant. Cynidi is in a league of her own.

At the beginnings of her carrer Madonna's voice was reverberated to make it sound more highpitched. When I was 4 o 3 yo I heard for first time Cyndi lauper and Madonna singing and I thought it was the same singer! I am 23 now and If you go and check Madonna's "La isla bonita" You can realize that After achieving enough popularity from copying " C.L"Madonna changed strategies

@jeffviau Are you fuckin serious? You have got to be kidding me. That was the result of the producers they worked with at the time and what sounds were "in" at the time for vocals. Neither one copied the other. Neither one had much control in the studio until they reached a level of popularity. That's how it always works. They are in no way alike. Besides, why would Madonna want to sound like someone who was already out at the time? That makes no sense.

When Cyndi is going to release this song as a single, this song had to be and has to be the third single of her newest album called "Bring Ya To The Brink"! It is such an amazing album and it deserves more singles and music videos! :D

When exactly was this song ECHO released? Its not a NEW SINGLE unless it was released in 2009, but the author of this video forgot to mention when the song was recorded by Cyndi. Who is still one of the best singers in the world, albeit not as exciting since the days when she always had the multi-colored hairdos.
