Harrit said 10 to 100 tons, and it's possible to get in place, since weeks before 9/11 all floors have been closed one by one for maintenance. To much intense heat on impact of plane for paper passport to survive, the hindenburg balloon's basket was below the explosion, making it more plausible for the postcard to survive.
