Wait what do you mean balancing this pos. There's nothing pos about this miata, there's like a total of 80 pounds added from the swap and its more than double the power of the stock 4 banger. A miata with a ls1 and t56 swap is close to a 50 50 distribution. Look it up there like 52 48 or so. And a stock ls1 in a miata will run 12s easy. Also were do you get that from 80mph hour up is yours. A ls1 has crazy top end power, and if its making more power your vtec isn't going to be going anywhere.
And if you know what your doing, the swap isn't as expensive as you may think, a ls1 and t56 out of a wrecked corvette or f-body would run around 3 grand. Then you fab up the mounts, and get a driveshaft made to match the rear end you decide on. Then the wiring, you get a stand alone computer to run the ls1. But its not cheap by any means that's for sure. And i'm not hating the s2000's are nice but I prefer a v8, just me, everybody likes something different. But calling this a pos is wrong.
@97Camaroowner if u knew better u know that the engine has to be mounted in a proper tranny and the rear end have to be changed in order to get the combination acording to the engine/tranny... with the money that u spend in just the parts diff, tranny and engine u can buy a badass bolt on SC and make that car faster than hell... V8's just doesnt work, if it doesnt work its just a POS...
@S2000F20CVTEC wtf are you talking about? 90% of that didn't make any sense what so ever. you dont mount an engine in a tranny, and you can run any diff you want as long as it can handle the power and you get the drive shaft made to fit. and unless you're going to run a supercharger with 20-30 psi and heavily modded motor you wont be getting a 1.8 mazda to put out the same power as an ls1 from a camaro.

It already as over 120k miles on the motor and walks all over four bangers and v6s. $1500-$2000 in cam, heads, and nitrous and LS1s are powerful beasts. And still just a fraction of the cost of a slow S2000. As far as the Miata goes, you can't just bolt on a huge supercharger; you have to add stronger parts or else you risk engine failure.

I know you obiously need all new supension and axles but was there a guide you used to make sure you got everything necessary.

Hey man. i figured since you post vids you know about v8 conversions on a miata.
So heres my Situation. i have a slightly modded 5.0 engine out of an old fox body.
I also have access to a 91 miata. but one of the big concerns i have is whether or not the chassis can take that kind of power. the engine probably has about 310hp 350trq so i mean... other then the rear end what will i have to replace? and will i have to work on the chassis any? ps i plan to buy a conversion kit from monster miatas
@Drifthut you can buy a conversion from monster miata but it will run you about 5K USD you will have to modify the chassis you have to get another tranny i know for fact the T5 does fit in the miata
It probably handles well but I bet it wants to get sideways when you floor it, lol. All that torque in a Miata can't be very controllable. I bet its fun!

Handling was not affected AT all. The swap only added 140 pounds to the car.
It is very well balanced. The stock suspension hates me now though.
