thank very much for their statements. I am a "Gouldianer" since 1969, and adore him very. Glenn Gould is the greatest pianist of all time. Many greetings from the Switzerland
Maestro Feldbrill, what an honour! I remember watching you conduct the Toronto Symphony Orchestra as a teenager in the 1970s (dating me a bit); I was a ticket rep for my high school at that time and saw several concerts. Its indeed a treat to write to you.
@011Canada Mr. Feldbrill, what an honour, how nice to, let's say, "see" you! I just have to pay a compliment - orchestra plays great, very very beautiful! Please accept deep respect and best wishes! You must understand - there are so many questions for you! How was it to work with mr. Gould, was it hard, there are some sort of legends about how hard it was to make orchesral recordings with mr. Gould, we know Gould - Bernstein Brahms 1st conc rec, well, you know, maybe you can tell us something!
@SSSLAWWWA I was privileged to collaborate on a number of occasions to conduct for Gould e.g. music of Webern. Schoenberg and Bach and, of course, this performance of the Brahms concerto. Each experience was a joy and never was there a moment of tension. It was only after he decided to retire from public performances that we had little contact, unfortunately. Victor Feldbrill
For all who have asked: This was Gould's first performance of the Brahms 1st piano concerto which he played, at my request, to open my second season as conductor of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra in October 1959. This concert was carried coast to coast in Canada by the CBC. I am happy that this can now be shared world wide.
