  • This is great, I made my way through high school and Orange Coast JC. by tearing down the old wooden dericks. Have some great crazy stories to tell, but never knew the value of a camera at that time nor a movie camera. Great memories, anyone want to chat please contact me at glyons.marinas@gmail.com, Would love to get in contact with any old buddies from that 50's eara.

  • Awesome

  • Neat ole vid! Question though - what are the small hoses that are tied into the polished rods on those wells?

  • @OSUOiler The hoses connect to the "macaroni" 1-1/4 inch pipe used in place of the rods. The production pumps up the 1-1/4 inch pipe and through the hose. Oil circulates down the tubing to lubricate the macaroni and the pump.

  • AWESOME SHOTS!!~

  • Great video. Thanks so much for posting. Brings back lots of memories for me of seeing similar operations back in my early Oklahoma Oilfield days.

  • what an awesome video, I have lived in Huntington Beach all my life 28 years, this was before my time but i was fortunate to remember all the oil fields and open land off of edwards and garfield before they built all those awful homes, I sure miss those times, Its great to see those old wooden wells and what HB used to look like, if u have more PLEASE POST THEM

  • Amazing video quality for 1956!

  • That's a beautiful sight. Back when California was still the land of the free and the home of the brave. Back before the faggots, perverts, and communists ruined it. Damn shame isn't it?
