For all those who wonder, this is actually the same tune as the dutch wilhelmus, but it is the prinsenmars version, which we in Holland no longer use (we switched to the Valerius version).
There is not luxembourg anthem, but there is nederland anthem. The anthem of Letzebuerg is Ons Hémeecht. Wilhemus is the nederland anthem. And the grand duc Henri not there parent with the Orange familly (nederland). There is a great error.
why is the Dutch anthem name used for the Luxembourg anthem? And I really think Luxembourg and Belgium should join the Kingdom of the Netherlands again because then we would be a strong front and have more to say to other European nations but maybe thats I am Dutch and the Dutch always want to powerful in the world although thats not always possible. :p
@juultjuh99 First of all this is not the national anthem, but the royal anthem. The name is the same is because originally when the dutch still ruled of Luxembourg the Wilhelmes would be played at events where the royalty appeared. Even after the house of Nassau took control of Luxembourg this tradition stayed. Later the royal anthem was changed, but the name stayed the same.
@juultjuh99 - this is not the Luxembourg national anthem but the hymne of the dynasty. Luxembourg is ruled by the Nassaus, the Dutch by the Orange-Nassaus. From 1815 until 1890 both countries were ruled by the Orange-Nassaus but due to a Family Pact Luxembourg went to a side branch when King Willem III died with only a female heiress.
I didn't know it is actually a compliment! The existence of the provinces Limburg and Belgian Limburg can be explained. As a result of the Congress of Vienna in 1815, Belgium and the Netherlands formed one country, known as the Verenigd Koninkrijk der Nederlanden. In 1830, Belgium declared independence and the province Limburg was split up in a Dutch and Belgian part. To me, Holland sounds nicer than 'the Netherlands'. I know its a bit stupid to call our country Holland. Oh well..

The anthem is not called Wilhelmus thats the name of the Grand Duke. The name of the Luxembourg anthem is "Ons Heemecht" translated Our Fatherland.
From 1813 till 1890 Luxembourg was in union with The Netherlands. The Dutch Kings where also Grand Duke of Luxembourg. The title past on to Nassau Weilburg family in 1890 with the dead of King Willem 3 of the Netherlands.
The Dutch anthem is called "Het Wilhelmus" and the Luxembourg anthem is "Wilhelmus"? (See TR3791) How stupid is that?! I agree with DainRouer since Luxembourg is really no bigger than a post stamp! Regards from Holland to you all.
i do not know what this is but this doesnt sound like the dutch anthem....

It's a different Wilhelmus, not Het Wilhelmus but De Wilhelmus. It's like America, Limburg, same name, different place altogether.
