  • How you found it's easier to inject in the thigh? My daughter Abigail is so tiny it's almost like she has no fat. I find it's easier to inject there for both her enbrel and mtx...

  • @JynMeyer She's not on any injectables anymore, currently Remicade, mobic and CellCept (because she couldn't tolerate MTX anymore) but we used to rotate legs and arms.

  • To J and her Mom, I am 32 yr old Mom and I was just diagnosed with poly articular rheumatoid arthritis. I have been using the humira pen and mtx pills. It wasnt enough so now I am starting mtx injections once a week too. Honestly I was a little bit (ok a lotta bit) scared to have to do another injection. So I decided to see if there was any info on here and I came accross your video. Thank you so much J for being so brave and posting this. I am a lot less scared. Kari

  • Awww, so brave! I'm 24 and I get a nurse to do my Humira and MTX injections because I'm too scared lol.

  • You're my hero. I am just starting at home metho shots...and your courage inspire me as an adult. Hope you have little or no side effects. Bast wishes, Carol

  • Methotrexate is an injection given at home. If you are having steroid injections done into the joint itself then yes it's done at the doctors office or at the hospital. There are a few injectable medications that are given at home and there are a few that are given through and IV infusion at the hospital. We give our daughter 2 injections at home, Methotrexate and Humira.

  • where does your daughter have her arthiritus? and i am 12 by the way i am just a bit confussed with everything!

  • J's arthritis is in 6 joints. It started in her right knee when she was 2. She had surgery and a lot of tests before she was officially diagnosed. Because she was so young she doesn't remember what it was like to not have JRA. She also has uveitis, which is like arthritis in her eyes. For the longest time her eyes were the only issue. That's when we added Enbrel to her meds. When her JRA spread we switched to Humira. If you have any more questions send me a message!

  • omg god bless xx i have had jca since i was 8 and it has taken them 4 years to find out what was wrong

  • i was just wondering how common it is for hair loss because i have been reading at it seams that it it is very common but i was wondering what you had been told? thanks again x

  • It is a side effect from the medicine. Methotrexate is also used to treat cancer but in much higher doses. Some JRA patients do have hair loss but others don't. Jordan had some hair loss in the beginning but it wasn't bad. Every once in a while I'll brush her hair and notice more hair falling out then usual but she's not going bald or anything like that. She has thin hair but she's been like that since birth :)

  • oh thats good i thought i might go bold haha thankyou! x

  • i am 48 and just about to start injecting methotrexate, your daughter gives myself and everyone injecting great confidence what a star.

  • @skunkmaster72 I take Methotrexate pills along with Humira injections. I didn't know there were Methotrexate injections? My doctor never mentioned them to me.

  • i have just been diagnosed and i thought that you had the injection at hospital? i have it in my hip though. can you please give me some information about the injection? thanks x
