  • I thought the American version only had emerald and ruby weapon...

  • @littledeth1000 this is because you don't know about FF VII International, which is basically the same game as the US release, but in japanese of course!

  • Vincent: Who wants some Lobster? I 'll like a nice red Lobster for dinner.

  • Dam im duin That right now

  • 1. There was an international version of ff7 release in japan with emerald weapon and ruby weapon as bosses, this is mostly likely that copy of the game.

    2. Vincent did it using the overflow glitch, The death penalty does more damage as vincent kills more enemies. When vincent kills more than 65365 monsters (16 bit maximum) the number overflows and the damage is converted to a negative number, effectively killing any and all monsters vincent attacks thereafter.

  • It's not fake it's the overflow glitch.

  • I thought Emerald and Ruby were only in the English versions of the game lol. I guess Ruby was the only one that was exclusive.

  • @Hogan713 Yeah i remember reading in the guide i had with this game that you only fight these bosses in the American version.. But that was years and years ago :P maybe this is a translated version or something

  • (Emerald Weapon Appears) "Mine" says Vincent "Boom Head shot" Instant kill

  • What's with all the dislikes? I mean, even if the vid is fake, the sense of humour in us, no matter how minimal, should be able the overcome the urge to press the dislike button. Besides, this vid has 2 great top comments too.

    sheesh.

  • @TiffanyCullen

Agreed. Though, this isn't fake- it's actually the "overflow" glitch. If you don't know what that is, then you can google it. I don't know all the details, and to be honest, it seems really... boring, but this can be used to kill bosses very quickly. I don't know if Emerald weapon can be brought down like this, but it's certainly a valid attack.

  • Sorry to say that this vid is fake, while the use of the vincent overflow bug is valid. No matter how high your speed is.. even in the event that you use the w-item glitch to max the stats EMERELD WILL ALWAYS get the first attack. There is no way around this unless its sharked stats. So either this specific file is sharked or this video has been cut and spliced.

  • @1991skullkid Or, y'know, he used various Materia to get the first attack. Can be done.

  • @1991skullkid Actually, it might very well be possible to get first strike on Emerald if one uses a mastered Sneak Attack paired with any physical-attack command materia, such as Morph, Deathblow, or Double-Cut. One would need several such pairings to help ensure Sneak Attack actually triggers. One problem with this theory, however, is the message that states Sneak Attack was triggered does not appear at the start of the battle.

  • @hergrom9 it is very possible to get first strike on emerald, you need to have speed very very very close to maxed out haste needs to be activated the character must be under berserk aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand luck of the draw when it comes to how fulfilled the wait bar (idk what it's technically called) or close to fulfilled the wait bar actually is

  • New record guiness, can anyone beat his timing? xD

  • hmm i dont think i need materia for this battle

  • Hmm, I still don't quite understand how this bug works, anybody care to explain?

  • @daemonprince13 It's called the Overflow Glitch, if I remember correctly. Vincent's Death Penalty gains power as you defeat monsters with it. When you defeat over 65,535 monsters, which is the highest attainable 16-bit binary number, the game registers it as a bug and automatically kills the enemy. Another way to get the glitch is to put a mastered KotR into Barret's Missing Score.

  • @jesusofsuburbia911 Ah I see, thanks for your time. :)

  • @daemonprince13 jesusofsuburbia911 is correct. However, he doesn't exactly explain how it works, only what causes it.

Basically, it has to do with the way numbers are handled inside a computer. Long story short, after the number 65535, the system starts treating the numbers as negative. Depending on how the amount of damage is calculated, a negative attack strength could easily instantly deplete all the HP off any monster in the game.

  • Planet protection fail

  • @SuperHamjam well...

    ... f*ck..

    xD

  • But wait... I though EW wasn't even in the Japanese version of the game?

  • @cliffroach its not in the "original" japanese version, but Japan have 2 versions of the FF games released, its in one of them.

  • @cliffroach the japanese version is the orid version, ofcourse it would be in it >.>

  • @Shuyin128MK4 Yes it was the original, but Emerald and Ruby Weapon were added specially for the US release, I just wasn't aware of the second Japan version that also included them.

  • @cliffroach They were in the international release which was released in Japan.

  • Very nice, I wanted to use this bug too but...65.000 deaths using Death Penalty is totally insane man! <8\

  • When a guy is calmly standing tall underwater, wielding and twirling a RIFLE with one hand as if it were a pistol, you know shit's under control.

  • Haha. Must've been a real no-life, bored-to-hell weirdo that actually did this. Congrats.

  • It's so real it's fake!

  • @tenorfab read this after a year, and i'm going to say I understood what you said, but you got your FFFF and 65535 in reverse :D coz FFFF = hexadecimal, 65535 = decimal,,so its a 4-flag hex FFFF(hexadecimal) OR 65535 in decimal :D,,im kinda OC on these stuff...

  • NEEEEEE ASI CUALQUIERA

  • Overflow glitch!

  • con trucos quien no

  • how?

  • haha... lol thats funny

  • What just happened It tool me like 20 somthing minutes to kil that thing how did you kill it in 1 hit?

  • @accention after killing over 65,535 enemies with vincent. the death penalty overflows damage and instantly kills enemies.

  • hahaha XD..hard shit to pull off i find it helps to use knights of the round with W summon then have everyone else in the party mime it

  • WTF?

  • people might say "hacks! get a life dude!"

i would say "you beat 65536 monsters with vincent? get a life dude..!"

  • so apparently you need to kill tens of thousands of enemies for this.

I thought, hey, if I had Vincent in my party for the entire game, itd be easy!

When I got to the final dungeon, I had a Master Tomberry use Everyone's Grudge on me to see how much kills Vincent had.

The damage didnt even go up to 9999...

  • I will investigate this bug more thoroughly. Thank you for informing me of its existence. As I am learning to hack and mod FF7, I need to know everything about its internal mechanics that I can.

  • I'm so abusing Vincent When I get him >_>

  • This is just ridiculous.

  • A wild MissingNo. appeared!

    'Nuff said.

  • Vincent is not impressed by your giant mechanical doom weapons. Vincent wants to go have a drink at the local pub. You will not come between Vincent and his drinks. *BANG*

  • yo wtf u cant just spend ur day tryna beat this boss which takes a couple of tries and a visit to ur local game fourm to find secrets AND THEN u fight and FINALLY beat him and then come here and watch this...you will lynch yourself......(finish lynch......dead)

  • huh, i wasn't aware emerald weapon had <4k health. i'm gonna go try this

    *alt tabs*

    *dies*

    ?_?

  • @fheisk NO. Emerald has 1,000,000 health. the 3787 you saw was probably something like 1,003,787 or 3,787,000, but I can't tell as it only displayed 4 digits max.

  • @Friday032610 you're a fucking idiot. why would it only display 4 digits worth of damage? the ps1 is old but i'm pretty sure it is capable of doing calculations for numbers higher than in the millions.

  • @fheisk YEAH!!! You tell that fucking idiot that he is a PIECE OF SHIT. Let me at that ASSHOLE. I'll stab him in the eye with an icepick, cut his right arm off with a chainsaw, and chop his legs up with a machete. HE IS THE STUPIDEST MOTHERFUCKER EVER KNOWN!!!! I'm am going to KILL the next SON OF A BITCH who says that the game will only display 4 digits!!! LET ME AT THAT CUNT. I'll punch him in the GOD DAMN FACE. I'll CRACK HIS HEAD OPEN WITH A TIRE IRON. Then I'LL SHOVE A M-1000 UP HIS ASS!!

  • @Friday032610 Nerd

  • @live4death7 Dork

  • @Friday032610 Really? Nope. Everyone look at the post below. Now fuck off.

  • @live4death7 LULZ...you tell me to fuck off when you called me a nerd...I was only honoring your compliment, now you spurn my compliment back? That is very, very rude. Some people's children...

  • @Friday032610 Chill out, its the internet.

  • @live4death7 Oh I know dude I'm just having fun trolling and being trolled myself...all for the LULZ man, the LULZ...

  • @Friday032610 it's vincent's weapon the more u kill ennemies the more lethal this weapon is.

    Can os anything

  • @merdoman84 Ummm...I understand that, I think you meant to reply to @accention. No one wants to fuck with Vincent when he's armed with the DEATH PENATLY!!!

  • hmm thats interesting. never knew about vincents overflow glitch. does it work in the USA version? if so i better start killing shit.

  • @vincent6724 Another glitch is to get Barrett's Ultimate Weapon (Missing Score, I think) and with a mastered KOTR you can do the same ;)

  • @vincent6724 Idk what glitch that guys on about, but the vincent death penalty glitch works in all the versions.

  • *Emerald weapon appears!*

Vincent - ''guys, chill the f**k out, I got this!''

  • @Peter20UK My top comment got replaced by someone who said the same thing? What else is new?

  • @Peter20UK Epic comment is epic.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheHugosp It's not a hack. It's called the Overflow Glitch. Vincent's Death Penalty (his ult weapon) deals damaged based on the number of enemies Vincent has killed. Therefore it's easy to deal a shitload of damage if you use Vincent enough. Barret has a similar glitch.

There are 2 other glitches associated with Vincent: The Mug Glitch and the glitch in the PSP version where his character model has its leg in the air during the death scene with Aerith.

  • @TheHugosp Next time, do your research. :l

  • I beleive this chap used some kind of cheat.

  • @gringolazlo

He used an overflow glitch where with Vincent you have to kill 65,535 enemies with his ultimate weapon the death penalty. Barret also has an overflow with his as well and to get his to work you need to equip materia with high amounts of ap to his missing score and probably use a few hero drinks, so Barret's is easier in my oppinion.

  • Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh what just happened? :3

  • Squareenix can fuck them selves in the ass with money dildo's

  • Does the Death Penalty bug only work in the Japanese version?

  • @alynkaipalomo it's not a bug, every ennemies you kill make vincent stronger

  • @oly355 I've heard of that. I always have Vincent in my party and right when I got the submarine, I went to Lucrecia's cave and got Death Penalty. I heard that there was a glitch/bug on Death Penalty and you can kill Emerald Weapon with one shot. But does it only work on the Japanese version?

  • @alynkaipalomo maybe a glitch, but I don't think it was what in the video

there may be your answer in faqs or forums.

  • @oly355 Okay. ありがとうございました。

  • cool vid, i just now managed to beat emerald weapon myself within the 20 minues, no kotr or anything cheap, just good old fashioned hard work to master a lot of materia and get some strategies worked out

i kinda feel bad for emerald after emerging victorious, he was just minding his own business chiling on the ocean floor and cloud and the gang pretty much just rock up and kick his butt :P

  • FF10 ... VERY VERY GOOD

  • Comment removed

  • Beast Mode!

  • ya know whats funny is Emerald and Ruby wasn't in the Japanese version of VII, this is fake needless to say

  • @MXDSouldier It's actually one of those "international" re releases that Japan gets with the international mods.

  • @MXDSouldier that is a very good point i thought this was a possible glitch until i read your comment there was no emerald or ruby in the japanese version only ultimate weapon, emerald and ruby were only put into the european and american versions! tut tut at deceiving the public -_-

  • Why not link KOTR with quadra magic and w-summon KOTR twice and kill it without spending all the time killing things to make death penalty more powerful? It worked for me at lvl65

  • @dpnjdevils666 kotr doesnt work with quadra magic. Plus you would have to spend time leveling up kotr cuz you can only use it the same amount of times you leveled it up. So you mustve spent some time grinding too if it was that easy for you

  • LEROYYY

  • hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Damn..and I spent most of the time almost 2 hours to beat this bitch hahaha

  • @reikodiana .hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaOMFG I can not stop laughing

  • @reikodiana Mimic master KOR ftw.

  • thumbs up if you got here from TVTropes

  • @dolphin64575 I didn't so I'm thumbing you down, also because I hate these comments.

  • Fake!

  • @Gamocraft no, its a glitch. you have to have vincent kill over 65,535 with his death penalty weapon, then you'll instantly kill the next enemy you face (which this dude did just now). But it can only be done in the japanese version of FF7 apparently. -______-

  • @Gamocraft its real.

  • Emerald Weapon: RAWRWARAR

    Vincent: *Bang* Problem?

  • This is Game Shark!

  • @luanfelipebc Believe it or not, its not a game shark.

    Its the over flow glitch.

  • @luanfelipebc Dude, get your facts straight before you do any stupid comment. This glitch is real. Death Penalty gets stronger with every enemy it kills, so if you kill A LOT of enemies, well, one shot and they're dead.

  • @ps3fanforever Would that work for ruby weapon too?

  • @LaurelleStars Yes. But maybe Ruby would have to be vulnerable to do damage, who knows... I've never tried it.

  • I don't know if you guys read about it on gaming websites but together with a team of creators we are working on a remake of FFVII on LBP2. I'm sure that sounds unspectacular but I think you will be impressed since gaming sides wrote about it. Check the latest video of the opening at MrShuanji's channel (I have a video on my channel aswell but it's not up to date anymore).

  • How the hell did that happen??

  • Glitch or not... That shit was tight!

  • This steak is good.

  • what is up with the number 65535 in that game? It's also the max MP an opponent can have in the game :/

  • @TimeFreeze1 65535 is the limit they chose to place. Had they gine up by 1 number they would have had to use another bit to write data in (and use more memory).

It's the same as the number 255 being the limit for stats. 1 bit can go up to 255 but if they want to go 256 then they have to use a whole new bit of memory.

  • @cloudanu yeah... I kinda got that... I meant WHY did they choose that number?

  • @TimeFreeze1 Because memory is in binary numbers. 65536 is 2^16, so uses 16 ... somethings. basta, by making the highest 65535, they will only ever use 15 at most of those. I guess its 65535 because thats also the highest they could use with those conditions -and- its also only 5 digits long. the next would be 6, another bunch of memory used.

Also, interesting fact, 255 in hexadecimal is FF, and 65535 is FFFF. Go figure :D

  • If its a 1% chance then it would take a fair amount of time to get it to occur in the first turn o.O

Congrats on getting that done though.

  • vincent? he die weapon?

  • just so you guys know, this was a stupid bug in the japanese version (if not obvious) that allowed vincent with his best gun, to kill emerald instantly. obviously, this did not happen in the us version

  • @josh62bates Uh...no..this glitch is in every copy...Vincents ultimate weapon gives him a 1% chance of killing any enemy with on shot.

  • hjiu

  • I rarely played as Vincent. Was it a weapon abilities or combined materia in it that made emerald weapon die by 1 shot?

  • fuck you, how's it done. I have beaten the game 17 times, prove to me its not fake

  • @jscoggins86 Death Penalty bug............

  • @jscoggins86

    @josh62bates

if you guys have never heard of it the Death Penalty has a Equation about it that the more enemys you kill with vincent the stronger it becomes, so if you sat there for hundreds of hours and killed enemy after enemy with vincent then the attack will be so strong that it kills him in one shot. as for the low damage count thats a glitch that happens with the damage counter when numbers stack upon each other.

  • owned

  • he just exploited the game noobs. His Ulitmate Weapon is called "Death Penalty" , so everyone that got a little bit brain knows that his attack power is increasing within killing monsters, so far this guy killed so much monsters that he does something like 64535dmg with a critical hit, and the game is "freakin out" and this is how is exploit works.

  • how ???? how ?? I AM STILL TRYING TO BEAT IT !!

  • A wild Emerald Weapon appears!

    Vincent uses "BULLET" !

    ITS SUPER EFFECTIVE!

  • @SuperSpecialAwesom12 this isn't f**king pokemon.

  • @kishire6murcielago I wasn't even going to reply to this, because its so stupid.

  • @SuperSpecialAwesom12 well thanks for replying :)

  • @kishire6murcielago No Problem. :)

  • "To perform the overflow, the player must either kill over 65,535 enemies with Vincent, or fill Barret's Missing Score with a mastered Knights of the Round Materia." - from finalfantasy.wikia

Ok, I think Barret's way would be a lot easier tbh. XD Although even the thought of mastering that materia gives me terrible flashbacks, so maybe Vincent's way would be easy... If not mind-numbingly soul-distroying... XD!!! <3

    Fucking LOVE FFVII!!! <3<3<3

    xxx

  • Comment removed

  • That is fucking. AMAZING! :O

This vid is actually featured on the finalfantasy.wikia site... (It was the first option when I typed "Vincent's Death Penalty bug"!) I'm genuinely amazed... Though tbh I think it'd take more than my life is worth to get him up to that level... I barely have him in my parties as it is. (If it was Cloud, it might be a different story!) D:

    xxx

  • Read the description. Its called the Death Penalty bug, obviously. Basically, you have to kill a set number of enemies (I think its with Vincent alone, not sure) then on the next battle after the 65,536th battle - whichever enemy Vincent attacks, dies instantly. Though, that is just my basic n00b understanding of things.

  • @CookieGod666 nope not a mod its real kill over 65,000 enemies with vincent with death penalty equiped

  • what ever Vincent is on can I have some

  • hahahah wtf

  • or u could just use knights of round and mime :/ was it really nessesary too kill 65, 536 enimies?

  • That happens when you are REALLY addicted to game. Even Ultima Weapon does not stands a chance.

  • Bought game - 1997

    Started killing enemies - 1997

    Finished killing 65, 535 enemies - 2007

  • @picamerons hahahahaha... this is the best comment I ever saw... :))

It sounds like he had a monstrous dedication (and mediation while playing this game). :))

  • @picamerons FF7 is the best RPG ever, unlimited replay value, and so many sidequests it's almost impossible to do every single thing in the game

  • @anthonnyyyx92 Sorry, what? It's one of the most popular RPGs ever, certainly not the best. Compared with many, many, MANY other RPGs, a 100% completion run of FF7 is pretty easy. No random loot, no crafting - there's absolutely nothing stopping you from getting every item, mastering every materia and beating every enemy.

"Almost impossible" is way off, sorry. As for "unlimited replay value", I admit that it has some, but again, not by most RPG standards.

Not being a dick, you're just wrong.

  • @kinggimped

I wouldn' say that FF7 it's certainly not the best. That statement always is a matter of taste. One thing I can say about it for sure is that FF7 is one of the most popular games in gaming history. Maybe today there are other games with better graphics, a better battle system, a bigger world and so on but you have to rate it for the time it got release not todays standards and in that case you can hardly find a better rpg.

  • @PSNChrree i agree with that. I was 13 when this game came out and at that moment in time, I honestly thought that it was was the greatest game ever made

  • @omegaweapon116 I never got to play the game when it came out, but a few weeks ago i borrowed the game from a friend and finished it and thought "Wow, this game is better than most fantasy games today" I mean it does exactly what it's suppose to do in simple yet expanded way for the time it was release. In 97 you wouldn't find games with an open-world as big and with so many stats/weapons/items than this one. It really is a master piece.

  • @Pat247x I don't lend my FF7 discs out anymore. Bought my first copy in 1998 for $20 off a friend who wasn't really into RPGs. 3 years later my older brother borrowed it from me. A few weeks later I learned he sold it to a friend of his. I was royally pissed to the point that I didn't talk to him for about a year. The second copy I have to this day I bought on ebay for $75.

Apologies for the long rant but hearing that you borrowed the game brought back that memory.

  • @SimpleKindOfMan604 If you have a PSP you can buy it on there for $10 along with FF8 (if you liked it, of course) for $10.

You'd probably like watching and playing games on a bigger TV more instead, but I figured the deal was much better than having to look around on Amazon/eBay. If you don't have a PSP disregard this comment, lol. I just thought I'd give you a heads up.

  • @Bien743 It is also on the PS3 for the same price.

  • @MrHikari13 Ah yeah... PSN IS connected to both PS3 and PSP after all. Haha... hurrr. I don't have a PS3, so I've been carrying around my PSP for years. ^-^

  • @Bien743 dude i dont have a psp (actually i do) but i can play this game. What system am i refering to? (duh)

  • @anthonnyyyx92

I do agree that it's the best RPG ever since I played it one year in a row just to make every character as strong as possible, to make several copies of every materia there is (and leveling them up of course), finding everything and to do every quest but I wouldn't say it's almost impossible or that is has unlimted replay value. I maybe played it about one whole year but I've spend most of the time with leveling, farming and so on. After all I like to hear how much you love it.

  • *Monstrous Emerald Weapon Emerges, 1,000,000 HP*

Vincent: It's cool guys, I got this.

    *Pow*

  • @tehNach0 ROFLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

  • @tehNach0 Wow, my name on pretty much every single forum is thenacho.

  • @stopeatingthepizza Nice! I've always been "teh Nach0" or "tehNach0" since Halo 2 days when I first got a gamertag. Glad some people have good name-taste. :)

  • @tehNach0 cloud: oow F** you man! you got more credit than me, you have a game of your own, you act as the brave guy and all.. and now that? you know what guys? screw you, I go with my clone brother. screw you all!

  • hahha bien jakeado el puto juego

  • Wait can someone explain to me hoe the death penalty works??

  • @GRaFiTiHaWk

simply put, Vincent's total number of kills is a multiplier to the amount of damage dealt. More guys he's killed, more damage he will do.

  • @imarabidmonk Is that hw that works?????

  • @imarabidmonk

is that so?? O.o even two enemies would already double his damage. After 50 he would kill any enemy instantly

  • Vincent death penalty kill count? 65535. Emerald weapon cries.

  • my brother once killed the Beast in the water lol BUT it took him over an hour LOL
