  • great job! Please send a pdf if you would: bkilp@indstate.edu

    Thanks! Brian

  • It's so funny how the computer makes French horns sound XD lolololol. I am playing this piece in my college band !! We actually have seven horns this semester! :D

  • The sixteenths in the chorale section sound pretty bad with stacattos, but otherwise, its great

  • @mvute It's an arrangement, not a transcription. I chose to leave out parts to make it shorter. What really makes the original version is the passing of the melody from different registers and textures in a playful, dare I say it, Jovial manner. With only so many options with a horn sextet, I opted to leave out some of the repetition while still maintaining the general structure of the work.

  • @hodgeeees it is awesome. i'd love to see a transcript. mail it to orrin@gunaxin.com or something. i've been wanting to know how the melodic lines and countermelodies b/w 0:14 and 1:00 go for literally years

  • Me too! How can I get a hold of this?

  • Can i have a PDF? harlonlonmo@gmail.com

  • Hi would it be possible for you to send me the PDF file? You can send it to cheewawa_97@yahoo.com.sg

  • @mvute Er...It's for 6 horns!!!!!!!!!

  • @mvute Honestly for the sake of brevity.

  • I play in a large horn ensemble in San Diego and we'd love to have this arrangement and possibly record it for you. Please contact me at funluver6@yahoo.com to continue chatting about this.

  • need some help recording?

  • the choice of phrasing is GENIUS

  • eh. little more emotion.

  • I could try to make a recording for it if you would like. It would take me about 2 weeks to finish since school has started. I have played horn for six years and would very much like to record it.

  • Is there any chance that I might be able to get the sheet music for this? would be kinda cool to play this with some horn players I know! :)

  • thank goodness! PLayed this with my orchestra and can't find the music ANYWHERE! thank you!

  • Hey, for the 6th horn writing, is it written in old bass format or new bass format?

  • @chanhaoyangx2 New Notation

  • @hodgeeees thanksssss. coz if its old, it would be a tat harder. :p

  • i think it would sound better on finale 2011 with 3 trumpets, 2 horns in f, 3 baritones,2 tubas, just your original brassline but this sounds good too but a little to TECHNO for the arrangement but over all very good

  • if you would like, my computer has virtual instruments that sound much better than these (pretty close to the real thing in my opinion) if you sent be the music and/ or midi file, id be happy to convert them to the virtual instruments so you can hear what they sound like :)

  • @zacharyjrsman I appreciate that, but I'm happy to say it won't be needed. A gentleman who records a lot of horn music for youtube has asked to record all the parts for me. I sent him the score and we hope to have it up soon!

  • @hodgeeees fantastic! i'll be looking forward to it :D

  • @hodgeeees Would this person happen to be ohsteacher? He does some amazing work :)

  • @hodgeeees Would this person happen to be ohsteacher? He does some amazing work.

  • @Girfume Yes it is, actually!

  • @hodgeeees Is it Marc Papeghin? You should send it to him.

  • @deurerdan It's Steve Park, actually.

  • Could you tell me how to get the sheet music? Just message me on here! Thanks!

  • my friends would like to attempt this

  • does somebody have the sheetmusic for me so that i can record it ??

  • the end of the peice i could just hear my band director.... I HEARD THAT TONGUE COMING OUT OF YOUR BELLS!!!!!!

  • I wist to hear somebody who will for sure play it...

  • @ANDREW007CZ me too. So far two groups have attempted, both decided it was a bit more then they could handle. We shall see. I know I need to fix some things. Had a bit more theory, counter point and orchestration since it was originally written.

  • @hodgeeees

Ah, then ok.. because I think this is unplayable :D

  • @alex40218 Depending on which part you're talking about, it might be marked to slow down. This older version of Sibelius is horrible about tempo changes. I tried to stay as true to Holst's markings as possible.

  • I would love to get a copy

  • very nice arrangment! i play horn and would love to play this :D

  • THIS IS SO AWESOME. THANK YOU FOR CREATING THIS.

  • Please find an ensemble to perform this...the computer approximation is horrendous.

  • It sounds nice, but are the fast notes and large jumps possible at this speed? It seems pretty darn hard

  • @stnam1994 Thank you. Glad you like it. And it is hard, but possible. Most any college level ensemble would be able to play this with some practice.

  • @hodgeeees It's about as hard as the full score version for large orchestra. Trust me.

  • this is awesome

  • Nice piece... I am also playing the french horn and like playing pieces just for horns...

  • Great - Where can I get the sheet music :)?

  • Wow, great arrangement! Have you already found a publisher? I'm playing in a horn ensemble, and would love to play this piece and arrangement!

  • This is pretty legit.

  • Not bad

  • hey im actually working on a full orchestra transcription for jupiter. im 2 minutes into it. its just after the 3/4 time. hard as hell doing it.

im going for the full 8 minutes long that it is =)

add me as a friend and ill send the vid to you when its done. i use finale 2009 =)

  • i love playing tjis on the french horn tho i really really want to play the oblivion theme song

  • How can I come about a copy?

  • This is pretty cool, but you should find some horn player buddies to play it for you!
