  • Interesting chronicle of one of the least known explosions in history (just like the 1947 Texas City blast or the 1917 Halifax Harbor disaster). Rumor has it that even Adolf Hitler sent his condolences.

  • @jbauer2002 Its no Rumor that Adolf Hitler sent his condolences, Ive been to the little museum across the street from the school, his letter is on display there. my Aunt left the school for a dental appointment 10 minutes before the explosion. Today, people in that town still dont like talking about what happened, its a pain that will never go away.

  • @jbauer2002 Back in the 1930's Natural Gas was a Bi-product, they just burned it off, the school was taping into the local oil wells to heat the buildings, nobody knew there was a leak that accumilated beneath the school, at that time, gas was odorless. Most oilfield workers and family who found there dead child, simply put him/her in the car and they left town thats why these kids graves are scattered out all over the country.

  • amazing unknown story of the horrors of gas exploding and 300 people dying-- what does this tell us awaits us in the Gaslands of today--!!

  • What an awe-inspiring story. Truly remarkable!
