  • "each is a dream in the others mind, they don't want to accept eachother as they really are. They would rather change eachother to satisfy their own ambition" Lets face it too many couples becomes husbands and wifes under this delusion in 21st century as well. Our divorce rate is 50%!!this video may be cheesy and we may hate that it comes from the government(i know i do) but if we put our 21st century arrogance aside long enough we will see that it has a very true point.

  • Insightful.

  • They keep saying wildly irresponsible things.

  • My birthday is June 26!

    Dun dun duuun.

  • I know I'm supposed to say something flippant & witty & ironic. I live in so much more sophisticated a time & have read all the right books & seen all the right movies & hold all the right post-modern opinions.

But somehow I just don't feel like mocking this writer for falling so short of Eugene O'Neill, nor the actors for not coming close to being Catherine Hepburn and Ralph Richardson.

The characters are not just cut-outs & the story is told with remarkable honesty for a government film.

  • for retro films (even short films) the legion of doom had some good taste.

  • Where the heck are the quotes?

    "What the matter? Something wrong?"

"Wrong? Ooh no no... everythings just... well, odd, I don't seem... I'm not even sure who I am.."

"Well, we can certainly straighten you out on that." (Drowning in my sleep, I'm drowning in my sleep)

"Just who are?" (Drowning in my sleep, I'm drowning in my sleep)

"I'm you're better self, you're subconscious self." (Drowning in my sleep, I'm drowning in my sleep)

    "My? What?"

    "Your better self."

    Where are these quotes?

  • At least the "Hasn't this gone a little too far?" - "It certainly has." quotes are here!

  • "drowning in my sleep" is in the song- "its a dangerous business walking out your front door" by underOATH

  • @xlukeox Correction - Dangerous Buisness Since 1979 by The Legion Of Doom

  • @Theaddictiveshowdied It's in both. Duh.

  • wow. that was honestly really good for one of these films.

  • Yes.

  • I especially enjoyed the subtle-as-a-crutch message that academic persuits and independent thought were dangerous things.

  • I don't think that was the point at all.

I think whatever silly government agency made these things had stumbled upon someone that actually had real aspirations as a writer and was trying to make the characters as interesting as they could.

He or she is no Sinclair Lewis, clearly, but I find the effort sincere and touching.

  • @alanespinney I didn't get that at all from the film...

  • "are you going to be nice again, ken? and we will never disagree about anything again? And you will never take me for granted?

    keep dreaming honey

  • even more out-dated
