i miss those silver n.j. diners now that i live in fla. i used to work at the circle diner in flemington,n.j. back in '77. great food and famous for their cheesecake.
Guys, I hope that I'm not being rude here, but I have a slideshow called Eggs on the Jersey Side, a Look at a Few Garden State Diners on my channel if you want to check that out.
That reporter should go to the older diners, many of them were built right there in New Jersey. I know the Harris and Max's were built by the Jerry O'Mahony Company of Elizabeth
Thanks! I'm from the South, and for yrs., I've wanted to do a vacation in NJ to eat at their diners and do other entertainment. Now, I get an idea. We don't see many diners down here. A lot of chain restaurants. Thanks for the showcases of pies, cakes, counters, and up-close shots of plates including what each place looked like outside. It's like a whole different world! I wonder what the prices are like.
This video should make everyone feel terribly, guilty. There are folks, namely (children) starving, right here in the US. I think, we should all do something about it. Regardless of government or circumstances. What a total disgrace. ~Pat (NJ)
Ethan! Thanks for the video response! That was a great Christmas Present to watch! A few questions first. I hope I'm invited on your next diner tour. And what is the munchmobile? It is also great to see females visiting diners. It unfortunately seems to be a guy thing, and that's a darned shame if you ask me. =] That food looks so good, and major compliments to the servers for the desserts. Very nicely presented.
Go to the Brookside Dinner on 10 or the Wippany Dinner on 10. Great food great prices. And there within a mile from each other when going in the direction of east hanover.

You need to have more of the old Jersey Diners like the Bendix or Harris. Max's Grill would've been great here.

This was a structured tour sponsored by The Newark Star Ledger. It was led by reporter, Peter Genovese.
