Thank God for your angel and the strength that allowed you guys to be strong parents. i am currently in the hospital on bed rest fighting to get my daughter to stay in my womb because im 24ks and 3days today. i have started does of the betamethadone steroid to help the baby produce surfactant sooner in case she is born soon. i have cervical incompetence and i lost a baby boy at 20 wks. i got a cerclage this go around at 13 wks but my cervix around it has shortened and slightly funneled.
WOW ! he's holding a ring with all his fingers in it. i cant believe how tiny he was, and my tears cannot hide. he's so amazing ! I'm 28 weeks today and this inspired me much.
Thank you for sharing your story.. My daughter was born May 24 2009 at 25 weeks... She's doing a lot better now, but it has been quite a journey! Glad to know your son is doing great~~ Gives us some hope!
We are proud to share it. I am glad to hear that you're daughter is doing well. It is such a rollercoaster of a journey. Stay strong and I hope all goes well. P.S. Statistically girls do better than boys.
@catcart1234 must be heart warming to see him walking and doing things on his own ... one day its gonna be my turn.. i hope all goes well but somehow i know theres gonna be problems.. as usuall for all families. best of luck for your son. and you of course..
@catcart1234 i am so happy to see your son survived, at the same time sad, for i had a premature baby boy borl also at 24 weeks gestational, but he was not able to survive, i am from he philippines, and we do not have that technology to save my boy, that was also the doctors told me, until now i still can feel the pain, that was dec 2006. i have a 1 yr old daughter now who is also born 34 weeks premature but so healthy that they were not able to put her in the incubator. i still long for my son
hi i also have 24 weeks and one day now he is ready to discharge from hospital he was born on 12th october 2010 and my due date was on 29th jan.I just want to know does your baby looks like normal
Such a beautiful child. God has truly blessed you with your son. I'm so pleased to hear that he has been given that chance at life. Peyton, have a wonderful, fullfilling life. I am sure you'll make your parents very proud, as you have done so far by showing them what a strong boy you are. God Bless you all.
Guess what?? I know a man named Jesus!! My daughter was born at 24 weeks. She weighed 1 pound and 8 ounces. She lost weight before she gained, and yes she did have to have serfactant. The doctors told me she would'n live to see 3, and if she did she would be retarded. Well, I here to say that, that was almost 18 years ago!She never had another medical issue in her life, and is headed to college in the fall. Trust in God,He will see u through!!!
Sounds like me. I was born 24 weeks also, 21 yrs ago. I didnt have anything major with my besides being early and not developed fully. I was 1lb 7oz stayed at loyola hospital in chicago for 127 days, I am perfectly healthy otherwise despite the 100% oxygen they thought i would be blind, mentally retared. With medical advances today a premie has very good odds of survival.

My Raelea was born 4 weeks early and needed surfactant to breathe. She is doing very good and almost 2 months old. Thank God for March of Dimes and their research.

What a beautiful child.
It makes me sick that partial birth abortions could be done at 26 weeks. That, to me, is murder. I wish Peyton a long and happy life.
