I agree with you about the area, and the earthquakes and tsunamis. The only thing I would add is that the MidAtlantic Ridge stood much higher before earthquakes and liquifaction took place. I also believe the sea floor was weighed down by the melting ice caps which tore the ridge apart. The seas also rose 450 feet and never subsided because the new north pole formed over water.
@sLdGlD Very good point about the MA Ridge being higher.. as the Earth grows in diameter certain portions collapse while others buildup (depressions vs mountains). Also, if Atlantis did exist, it would have made travel by boat (over a far less 'wider' Atlantic Ocean) much easier.. just thinking about overlap between the Mayan, Egyptian and Atlantian societies.
