well in this fight it's better by using chrono,marle and frog in team

they have a triple tech. called frost arc

and it gives like 2k damange per hit or maybe 4k if i didnt forget it...

hit the attack arm til it's dead and ignore the assisting arm

that is the best way ~ ^.^

This boss was not very hard for me the first time I went through the game.

Now he's super easy, because everyone in my party (excluding Magus) is level 99!

Surprisingly I didn't even have to use haste in this fight, the boss is more intimidating than tough if you know to knock a hand out of play when he has both.

How do you get frog squash? I forget what the trip tech for crono, frog, and marle was but I used that to take out his left hand and just used spire, and the trip tech on his head until he regained his hand, and took it out with another trip tech. Healing when needed, and using ethers.

I think you got Luminaire from training at the hunting range at 65,000,000 BC. The monsters there give out alot of TP ponits from there. They actually give out 30! MAybe thats how he got it. If he did, then he must've been training=]

pretty sure I explained this, but I trained on the Gold Rocks, they give 1000EXP and 100Tech points per kill, by resetting the game, you can refight them. I did this to speed up the kills a bit.

Ideal team (imo): Crono, Frog, and Robo. Crono and Frog attack the attack arm with Spire while Robo spams Heal Beam. Once the attack arm is gone use Triple Raid FOR GREAT JUSTICE!

I used Crono, Frog and Robo's triple tech on the right hand then left hand over and over (at a much lower level). Then I used it on the center. The triple tech should kill the hands in a single hit, and if you do it correctly, I don't think the hands deal any more damage to the party.

You can go Tech-Point grinding the areas before. All those Rubble's give you 100 TP each. Two areas before, at the upper right, there's a Rubble respawning there everytime you visit that area. Perfect for Tech-Point grinding.

the easiest way is to use the triple tech twister which is used by crono ayla and robo then just use your most powerful single techs once you take out the arms

the technique i used was to attack his healing arm with thunder II or whatever its called and kill it, then when all out on the main body til the arm was revived, and repeated

I kinda overleveled while training for gil first time I faced him.

Party was Crono, Frog, Marle all around Lv. 35.

Basically just spammed confuse and Glacier (Frog and Marle dual tech). Easy, especially since I equipped crono with a sliver stud right before the fight.

Chrono , Robo, Ayla

Use 2 falcon attacks to take out both arms, just pummel the head till you he dies. If arms respawn use ONE falcon attack to take them both out at once. Easiest boss ingame lol (he only damages you for 2 turns using this method)

2 x Delta Tech should destroy the hands.

Cure/Potions while the hands destroyed.

Rinse and Repeat. Done.

I had one hell of a time beating this..... seriously..... well to those who need help on this here is how u can beat him without luminaire... get the delta storm triple tech (lighning II,waterII,fireII) use lapis (sadface).... so u can kill both arms if u used it twice and start spamming regular attacks at him... one his arms come back quickly use delta storm then spam attacks again.... took me 30 min to figure out how to beat him

I equipped Crono with the gold stud to reduce the amount of MP used and attacked with luminaire every turn. I also had frog and marle use double cure.

ahh i loved this game.

This game actually had hard bosses in it, not many RPG bosses were really that hard for me and the ones in Chrono Trigger sure were, though not all of them, this is one of them.

You can very easily get luminaire(if your willing to waste a lot of time) oyu just gather like tons and tons of techs points while you have wallet equiped

Actually, You don't get any +Tech points with the Wallet equipped, you gain the same but all XP turns into gold.

Hands first :). Leaves you with a lot of times to kill it. You must have some All Target spells so use em. Or else just use some One-Target hits and target the arms and kill em quickly.

Battle the Golden stone's around the MT before this boss. I only had Spincut when I came here and was lv20 I think. Save at a save point, restart game and battle a Golden Stone again. Fight it how many times you want. 100Tech points each and 1000EXP. that's how I got it so low :P.
