@ddking69 a 149 isnt that hard to get in a hatchback. DD subs take alot of watts but that's about it. they are cloudy dirty sounding subs designed for spl. two 15 in. L7's in the right box could do the same thing. one of my customers even got a 151 with two L7's in a explorer with more cabin space. im not sayin kickers are louder. im sayin L7's arent a 100% spl sub so if you have a DD with a retarded magnet that takes 2000 watts you better get a 149 or higher. L7's give more bang for your buck.

thats a good way to do it, but for a better performance, use some t-nuts and screws to hold the port in. they will hold it better and you dont have to worry about stripping the wood out. also you say there is no leak but to be safe get some weather stripping and just put it around the cutout. you have the room, might as well do it right. also nice choice in amp....

Yeah, they sound better because when you have the subs mounted like that (isobaric) you have more are space inside of the box. giving you a "fuller" deeper bass.

Actually the mounting of the magnets facing outward isn't isobaric (unless the box was sealed and one of the subs was wired reverse polarity). This is a basic bass reflex enclosure/setup with the magnets facing outward probably for cosmetic appeal since there's ample room to design a slightly larger box to compensate for woofer displacement.
