is it an organ or a 747 flight deck holy crap that thing is huge too many buttons for me but if it works for ya hey thats what works for ya good music by the way
Well, like a 747, you're never using every button all the time. All the buttons are located in certain parts together, so you use each one as needed. I might only press two or three during a song.
In any event I no longer have this organ. I now have a Lowrey Stardust and will be posting a new video soon.
Well at 74 I don't know about the "youngster" part. I've played professionally for about 40 years, and have found out that you'll get back what you invest timewise in any instrument. Having said that, one still has to learn the basics of playing, and I don't mean one finger chords and auto pedals.
One can certainly call themselves an "Organist" playing these auto features. They might just as well buy a $79 Keyboard from Walmarts and just have some fun with it.
The lighted keys are for beginners...although with only 12 notes to play any song, I have wondered myself why someone would need that feature. You have to remember that elderly people who buy a $75,000 organ, need all the help they can get, so maybe that explains it.
No, we just have money and the time to practice, that's all. After a few months, one does not use the Easy button that often. Many of us never read music before, and you ought to hear us!!
I am in the middle of recording and planning on putting on Utube, not advertise Lowrey, but to play my favorite things for fun. Who has time for 20 years of formal music these days, not even youngsrer like you.
It is an amazing instrument, but it hardly plays itself. You still have to know the basics of playing a organ...and I mean chording and pedals. The special features are there to be used, but you have to know how to play in order to be effective.
Not with this baby, EZ play musicbooks have great arrangements, and if you follow these books you are playing things like this rather rapidly. You do not need chording, or pedals since the instrument will do it for you. If you are into chording and pedals, it's all there. Your choice. . I learned this instrument and play a similar model. in only 6 months I can play broadway, musical, pop, classical, sacred a wide variety; my classmates can do the same. TRY IT!!!
The song was composed by David Rose, and I go back even further. He was the musical director for MGM and he released this song as a pop. It came out in the early 50's and was a modest hit on the Juke Boxes.
I've had that song in my head for all these years and finally recorded it a few years ago. Thanks for playing the video.
Excellent playing!! I wished My Lowery Organ would do all that. I have a Lowery Organ Model D550 built in the 70's which needs major work done to it. keys A and A sharp are out on all levels.

@Organwiz1 Thanks...There are newer Lowrey top of the line models, but this organ has a lot of punch.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone play quite that way. Very non traditional fingering techniques.

Thanks for your thoughts. Organs have come a long way in the last 15 years. I remember your organ when I was selling Lowreys in the 70's.
Everything is digital these days. Take a look on E bay where you can pick up a fairly new one for about 15 cents on the dollar.
