I like the costume and make-up and all the dance moves the ladies are doing - it adds a new touch to the film other than the more sombre romanticism at the start. A good film is one that touches the soul and has a good jounrney through its life - from start to the very end. This has all of those elements. I bet most of the people on this thing have seen Simon Shauma's account of Caravaggio and his life. You've got to watch that as it reveals the same shocking details which overlooks the eye..
I dont know why we americans are not able to watch these kind of movies in the theaters. For example, in Mexico, all these British, French, Spaniard, Italian, Russian movies, are showed either in T.V and in theaters!!!I don't know why USA had never been worried to give us a globalized vision of the art movies to our people!!!
David's The Death or Marat in a film about Caravaggio??? I laughed so hard!

Is this scene with the guy in the bath tub and the typing machine a reference to Jacques-Louis David's painting "The Death of Marat?"
