  • Oh dear this along with U.F.O is one of the worst TV series ever. However the title sequence is pretty awsome and the series is so bad it's good for a laugh.

  • mmmmmm....Erin Gray.......!

  • This was one of those truly great CONTEMPORARY TV INTROS. It was Dynamic and really Original at the first times of it's transmission.

  • Before it became a tv show it was a feature film at the cinema.....

  • @saintgeorge67 The first 2 episodes (effectively the pilot) as aired in the States were respliced into the cinematic release we saw in Europe. Was quite common. Other examples were many of the Man from Uncle episodes.

  • buck rogers had the makings of a long running classic but guess the first year was too expensive and with exception of first two episodes, the second year wasa clunker so reminiscent of low budget short lived scifi shows of the 70's with plots straight out of TV's logans run or um fantastic journey

  • It was a great series one of my favorites when I was a kid, however now I think how terrible it would be to see myself in the future and nobody I know or love is alive anymore, it would be so depressing, maybe I could not stand it and I'd shoot myself LOL

  • best intro song ever

  • Even though Erin Gray is stunningly gorgeous the best bit of that intro is still ..."500 YEARS LATER!"

  • Twinky was voiced by Mel Blanc!

  • Death between the bodies of Col Wilma Deering and Princess Ardalla!! Yeeeees! That is my ideal way of entering Valhalla! :P

Loved this show and totlaly agree with those who say Erin Gray was and still is a BABE! But Pamela Hensley, rwwaaaar! Much much naughtiness! ;)

Sigh, 70s/80s rocked, why has eveyrthing got so damn "stodgy" now? :/

  • fuck rogers has come to save the day

  • thumbs up if you came here because of eric cartman

  • "The year is 2011 and NASA can still only barely leave the atmosphere in the last of America's primitive shuttle missions"

Shouldn't we have starships, lazer guns and warp speed by now?

  • @RiFFxxx

IF space 1999 is anything to go by, we should have a fully functional spacebase on the moon, that's currently floating around somewhere in space.

  • @RiFFxxx Hahaha you're right!

  • @RiFFxxx Exactly. I remember reading about bases on Mars by the year 2000. We would probably have them, but spending money on war is more important.

  • @neil73 PEACE TO YOU TRUE SAY...................

  • @RiFFxxx What we see is twenty to thirty years behind what they've actually got. Weather and earthquake weapons are being used today. Research HAARP. The problem is that 500 years in the future there is no backwards compatibility with graphics adaptors, the Nintendo Wii will be unplayable.

  • @RiFFxxx We would, if nuclear power wouldn't be a political issue!

  • @RiFFxxx With 1970 decade technology, we could went to Mars, but Dark Ages Islam is much more important than space technology. I live in Brazil.

  • er....NO!?

  • I met with Gil Gerard & Erin Gray last weekend. They are real nice friendly people. Erin still beautiful even at 60

  • Danny Choo sent me :D

  • Met Gil Gerrard (Buck) a few years ago, he is fat, grey and miserable poor sod

  • Erin Gray once played a man in amovie called twist of sands 1976

    weird hey or what

  • ...There was Glove compartment?!

  • ...There was Glove Box?!

  • feeder should be on the intro!

  • Hang on, thirty years later I notice that it's a Saturn V rocket taking off in the credits - where did they fit Rogers' shuttle, in the glove compartment?

  • God bless that Disco music! one of the best openings intros.

And God bless Erin Gray, one of the most beautifull womans put it on a TV screen.

  • i liked the original misogynistic intro with the space babes lol

  • Anyone noticed in the opening credits he blasts off in a Saturn rocket long ago de-commissioned before 1987 and then suddenly he is in a NASA shuttle?

  • @dionaea2008 I do , but I forgive them. :)

  • @dionaea2008 I just commented to that effect, without seeing your post. I opined that they must have had the shuttle folded up in the glove box.

  • eric cartman..................................

  • Erin Gray with her colection of spandex mmm. she was the cause of one of my first erections...sweet dreams...

  • loved the show and erin gray in those white suits. didnt like the robot

  • @sjb609 i agree id have loved to see that bloody robot get squashed or something

  • Does anyone know what year this came out as it is one of the 1st programmes i remember. This and metal micky.Im 35 years old so i would say 1978-1980.

  • @suzukix5owner 2 seasons 1979-1981

  • @suzukix5owner Buck Rogers was out in 1979, Metal Mickey came along in 1980. I've still got the one of several fun Metal Mickey records "Metal Mickey Magic" c/w "Meet Metal Mickey" I'm currently trying to locate a new belt for my turntable so that I can copy the tracks onto my computer. The theme tune to Buck Rogers was released by Stu Phillips with vocals by Kip Lennon. Boogie Boogie

  • @suzukix5owner 1979 Buck Rogers came out, Metal Mickey followed in 1980. The theme to Buck Rogers was from Stu Phillips with vocals by Kipp Lennon, I don't remember any singing when it was shown on British TV.

  • This reminds me of going to my nanas house every saturday afternoon where she would always cook my dinner of burgers fried eggs and chips and we would sit and watch this together and she loved it just as much as i did sadly my nana died but this always brings back a good memory

  • THE YEAR IS 1987...NASA LAUNCHES THE LAST OF THE AMERICA'S DEEP SPACE PROBES..IN A FREE MISHAP,THE RANGER 3 AND HIS PILOT,CAPTAIN WILLIAM BUCK ROGERS ARE BLOWN OUT OF THEIR TRAYECTORY INTO AN ORBIT WHICH FREEZES HIS LIFE-SUPPORT SYSTEMS AND RETURNS BUCK ROGERS TO EARTH 500 YEARS LATER.....

  • I always loved this theme. Possibly better than Hawaii Five-O... But not as good as the original Dr. Who. :)

  • Wait, did Col. Potter from MASH do the voice over?

  • actually it is Robert Conrad. He has done many things in the past, but that last thing I believe he did was Jake and the Fatman. He is the heavy bald guy.

  • It's William Conrad - Robert Conrad was the Black Sheep Squadron guy

  • @Trompthar It's William Conrad, not Robert Conrad. Robert Conrad was in THE WILD WILD WEST; William Conrad was in JAKE AND THE FATMAN and CANNON.

  • @Trompthar Hey you right, now i recognise the voice after about 30 years lol, its william conrad aka cannon!?

  • @Trompthar it was William Conrad who played cannon in 70's cop series. Robert Conrad starred in wild wild west in the 60's

  • @Trompthar You were close, it was William Conrad who was in Jake and the Fatman and who voiced this, Robert Conrad is a different actor.

  • This is really good 'Pulp' Science Fiction...hmm perhaps and idea for a film...

  • wots up buck lol classic.

  • I think most teenage boys when this was on had a crush on Erin Gray. it helped of course wearing those skintight outfits. Yummy.

  • @soupdragonuk Spandex is what it says! LOL We Need More Spandex Bell! LOL

  • at this time Erin Gray was very very beautifull

  • @c3dr1cb ... saw a photo of her recently, and she still is a MiLF

  • Look at the background ring of 0:31 thats been taken straight of the edit reel of Battlestar galactica!!!

  • This is possibly the most awesome intro theme music in the history of ever. (It gets somewhat lame after the title, though.)

  • why does everything on tv suck after the 80's?

  • I Still have this on original cassette tape.

  • rip off of Star Wars much?....:O

  • Buck Rogers pre-dated Star Wars by nearly 50 years.

  • @Vennegoor10

Yeah, I mean the TV version, with the font and Erin Grey's character.

Or was it always like this, even in the comics?

  • @CashForGash Oh my god why didn´t you check that up before you made the comment. You could have wikie´d it and seen the diffrent years, you idiot.

  • The themesong is so well composed and powerfull. really love it. anyone know who composed it?

  • Stu Phillips. He wrote the themes for most of these old Universal series - Battlestar Galactica, The A-Team, Knight Rider, etc.

  • It was by no means weak I loved this series as a child and watched it everyweek:D

  • I thought it was funny how stupid people of the future were in this series... Seriously, you've never heard of Ancient Rome?

  • A weak scientific fiction serie. I saw some episodes, here in Brazil.

  • Quins records! A veure quan la tornen a fer per TV3

  • erin gray war eine schöne frau ?!?! :-)

  • What I love about YouTube is that you can think of something so Random like Buck Rogers, go to YouTube, find it, and discover that others have had the same thought only minutes before. haha, I was flicking the channels and yelled BUCK ROGERS! when it was really Bicentennial Man! haha boooooo

  • What an intro tops anything of today!

  • I would love them to do a remake of Buck and the gang. I am divided over whether they should use the tv show as a basis or some of the books I read back in the 90's. I enjoyed them alot (still do actually :) )

  • ich war als kind in erin gray schwer verliebt !??! so sollte meine freundin aussehen !??! nie erreicht :-)))))))))))

  • o wilma, marry me wilma!

  • Not a great show, but what an opening!

  • gil had diabetes which is getting more common nowadays.

  • 0:57 Damn, I remember how bloody hot Erin Gray looked!

  • Amen to that, brother!

  • she's still HOT...for her age!

  • Poor Gil Gerard. His health really took a bad turn as he got older. :(

  • erin grey in those pants. gotta love it

  • Twiki was the best sidekick ever....When he meete Princess ardala for the first time he simply said "Bidibidibidibidi What a body"...stil lmao to this day when i see that scene.

  • STARBUCK

  • Saw South Park today. They had this intro. Never saw it before. Kinda cool.

  • its one of my favorite show when i was a kid. Erin Gray is one gorgeous babe at that time.

  • I looked at this because of the feeder song and have just realised I used to watch this. only a wee kid then though.

  • ERIN GRAY...mmmm...what more needs to be said?

  • @MALOSINZ get you're hands down! SHE'S MINE! LOL

  • @MALOSINZ Sure she was a real beauty! What more to be said? Maybe bedebede would be my only words in front of her ;-)

  • The robot was called Twiki..."bididididididi whats up buck"?

  • 25th century with a retro 70's look...ahahahhaah, awesome!

  • Ahh the gold old days when you could watch T.V to escape reality rather than be subjected to Reality T.V. Great show!

  • Amen to that...I used to love this show, even though the little android's helmet looked like a, well, you know.

  • thats a brill comment,we were the better for these shows, drift and dream away, reality tv wreaks of desperation, for the bored and superficial.

  • shame no shows in full on here - but remember watching this late 80's early 90's on UK BBc2 on program called rapido

  • ho ho, Rapido! There's a blast from the past!

  • Legendary.

  • I love this show, if nothing but for seeing Erin Gray, man she was so hot :)

  • Yeah!

  • She was hot, but imo Pamela Hensley (Princess Ardala) was even hotter. :)

  • Nah its Erin Gray for me, though I doubt I'd have been too worried which one gave me the time of day.

    Both hot babes.

  • lol i pissed myself.....and im sure anyone who has seen the nintendo wii episode of south park will to

  • What, you mean there really was a show like this? South Park stole the song? Bastards. I'll sue them for all they got. LOL Just joking. Anyone remember the name of the robot? I loved this show, if I remember right, it came on after the Dukes of hazard, but I could be wrong.

  • GENERATION SPACE 80. STAR FICTION.

I was younger and the world became fantastic...the reality, there are not space ships in 2009 maybe in 25 century lol

  • Twiki.

  • i was four when this came out . and most of my friends still alive .

  • thanks for posting, this brings back some great memories. This show was one of the greatsof the age when sci-fi was 'cool' during the late 70s-early 80s.

  • WOW! WOW! WOW! I caught reruns of this on the sci-fi channel a few years ago, and I felt the same way I do now. I remember this from my childhood and it makes me feel a wee bit safer--as if all I have to do is turn on the tv and see a familiar and expected show that my inner child remembers. I loved seeing this.

  • I'm so old

  • onpalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalal

  • but how did he get returned to earth if his life support sytems were frozen?did they did they just thaw themsleves out one day and the ship landed itself?

  • His ship was found and he was thawed out.

  • Big call divermalc...i think your right,Erin Gray any day and yes your an old fart at37 lol...at 41 i am just getting warmed up...bidybidybidy.

  • Erin Gray is without a doubt the sexiest woman ever to be on a Sci fi show... EVER! Far sexier than Tricia Heifer ? from the new Battlestar. Wilma Deering eg Erin Gray still makes me go WOAH!!!!!!!! And i'm 37 now! Damn I'm old!! :-(

  • She was by far. What a beautiful woman.

  • Damn right she is! Erin Grey to be frank was possibly the thing that made this show tick!

    Verryyy nice =P

..shame she's not like that any more xD

  • I only ever watched that show for Erin Gray

  • I was addicted to this show when I was a kid :)

  • 0:54 - 1:01 best part (erin gray) :-)

  • Erin is super Hot yeah!

  • ha south park done a funny version to this intro!

  • Indeed, they did. LAughed my ass off!

  • last 3 posters, you are so...........right. :)

  • It is high time for a remake :)

  • Make this show into a movie.

  • erin gray was so HOT ;-)

  • Wohoo!! Thursday nights at 8.30pm, 1982..OH the childhood memories!!!

  • A movie version would be amazing, with great FX, making the fx to tell the story, not the fx be the story itself.

  • man it would be pretty cool if that is what our future will be like in 500 years, but the way things are going im not so sure

  • get ready for the new world order

  • I was howling, biddy biddy bop

  • Erin Grey in that white rubber suit when your growing up mmm well no wonder i wear contacts now i am older lol

  • OOOOOOOOhhhhhhhhhh MY GOD..... I used to love this as I was growing up. THANK YOU

  • Thanks for posting this. I always loved this series.

  • when are we going to have this serie on dvd? anyone knows???

  • Its on amazon ! The show lasted for only 2 seasons! So only season 1 and 2 are avalble !

  • wHAT A SHOW! EXCEPT THE MEN IN SPANDEX OFCOURSE!

  • thank sweet jesus for buck rogers what a guy!

  • I love this show.

  • tremendous..

  • Why do NBC care if you use this, man it came out years ago people put the sopranos on here all the time.

    P.S. awesom show

  • I am not sure, but this vid, my Buck Rogers original, and 2 of my Battlestar vids are being investigated. If anything, this is a free promo for them. I have had many people ask me about the where I got vids, which I got from the DVD set. Hmmm... Free advertising... NO!! THAT's BAAAADDD!! Oh well...

  • Exactly!

I agree with you when you say its a free promo for them. I can't tell you how many DVDs and CDs I've bought because I saw clips or videos on youTube. I don't why these stupid idiots would get bent-out-of-shape because you're showing 3-10 minute clips.

Just as an example: I may get the Buck Rogers film because of youTube.

  • @Trompthar Well, luckily it hasn't been pulled yet.

Apart from that... oh,the hair, THE HAIR!!!!!!!!

Compared to Cosmos 1999, at least this happened in the far away future.

I think I saw Twick on Fantasy Island.

  • princes ardala was so shagable

  • NASA did what back in 1987? LOL

  • How could they design a robot that looks like a penis.

  • Why? Does your penis look like that? lmao!!!

    BUCK RULES!

  • monvert cleaner.

  • so Cartman went to the 26th century to avoid copyright infridgement?

  • LOL... must be, as I have been warned that this vid will soon be pulled by NBC/Universal

  • They seem to have a real problem with Buck. My'Montage' got removed as well.

  • I loved this show as a kid twiggy was so cool.

  • Lol, reminds me of south park.

  • Erin grey what a Wow!man hot

  • biri biri biriiiii

  • never seen this. its just hilarious after watching south park. pretty cool intro though

  • Allied Atheist Alliance makes more sense. It has three A's

  • science damn you!

  • Science H Logic!

  • your science is flawed

  • Erin Gray...one hot momma!

  • Still Hot!! Agreeed!

  • I like this tv show version much better but I can think of a buck rogers of the 1939 version as well.

  • The thing with Lee Majors is that he slept with ever female co-stars who ever got their hands on him, even when he is married to Farrah Fawcett.

  • Gil Gerard wanted to be Lee Majors.

  • File this tidbit under totally useless, but I remember somebody saying that this was the first adventure show, maybe the first show ever, whose theme music was, a waltz!

Some can argue, but its definately three quarter time.

Add that it is probably a dinosaur with respect to the equality of the sexes along with Charlies Angels, and you wrap an entire generation

  • OMG, I never noticed that before. Definately three quarter time, I can just see hundreds of Austrian nobles dancing to this.

  • "The year is 1987, and NASA launches the last of America's deep space probes." I remember watching this show around 1979 as a child, and thinking 1987 is soooooo far from now.

  • FIVE! HUNDRED! YEARS! LATER!

  • What an amazing intro. Looks great in full screen. Did you see that city in the background? That's amazing! And that's before the second Star Wars trilogy.

  • Looks like Detroit?

  • Flying over Ohio before you reach the city limits :)
