The first movie was odd.

Samantha is supposed to be the most sexually active of the four of them, the one who's actually opposed to the whole concept of manogomy, love, etc. (In contrast to charlette, who was the most innocent pro-love -pro-manogomy one, and STILL mannaged to get herself new dick once every two weeks at a bare minimum) and yet, there she was, steady relationship with The Ultimnat Hunk and sleeping with no-one. I saw the first Sex and the City movie and did not care for it. As a fan of the series, I was disappointed. I have heard so many bad things about Sex and the City 2, that I am not going to bother.

Chris, I love the heck out of you, and I love satc (of course, im a young gay male -- im meant to like it!) but yeah, the 1st movie kinda sucked and I havent yet watched this one. One thing though: I was watching Tony Bourdain (you know, the travelling chef) and in the saudi arabia episode the woman who half hosts the show tells him that underneath their burka, they're all dressed in designer clothes and high heels -- so although lame on the script, it may also be true in oil rich countries.

I think the first time I heard about "Sex and the City", a long time ago when the hype around the series started in Europe, I thought "hmm, weird title for a non porn film", and looked at it for like 15 minutes. I think the worst part of not just this movie but a lot of female-centered media portrayals is just HOW they portray homosexuals. Women having gay people around like they're adorable little pets and not treating them like humans. The entire gay wedding is painful because it does nothing to but further the stereotype that homosexuals aren't really people, just silly, effeminate humanoids that women sometimes adopt as pseudo-best friends because they're "just so cuuuute!"

I had to see this one with my girlfriend. The same girlfriend who gave me a hard time for the two Transformers movies stating that they are stupid and confusing when in fact they have what every growing boy needs. Robots that transform into cars and stuff and then blow some other stuff up. Anyway, with Sex and the city it is apparently okay to be stupid and confusing as long as you wear nice clothes.
