  • @TrackMonkey327 It's the Gary Jules version of "Mad World", originally by British group Tears for Fears.

  • What's the name of this song? It's not the Scorpions.

  • During the 50's,in a small Arab emirate with no oil to speak of, the Emir was envious of his rich oil producing neighbors. He asked his advisers for counsel. One of them said; ' Let us declare war on America like Germany and Japan did. America gave money to Germany and Japan when they both were defeated '. The Emir thought for a while and replied; ' That seems like a good idea but I worry what if Allah wills we defeat the Americans, where will we get the money to give to the Americans? '

  • I feel lucky, I have never had to go to war. So many young lives cut very short.

  • Bail out mates! RIP.

  • World War 2 was all about the good versus the evil. Germany and Japan were evil and rotten to the core and they got their "comeuppance." Good triumphed over evil. Both countries have to live with their shameful past. The USA was very magnanimous in financing the rebuilding of both countries. If the boot were on the other foot, no doubt we would have all been enslaved by the so-called "master race."

  • @Gruntol5 Only thing is japan still continues its old ways they have not really changed i mean look at how they made it a form of entertainment other creatures killing each other and or rape etc they haven't really moved on if you ask me their still the typical nazi dip shit idiots they were

  • @Viper6454: Agreed 100%.

  • @Gruntol5 What would you say about the situation today? I don't know about you but, I've seen the Old Republic turn into Imperial Enforcer for the global banking mafia. Every recent war has been a war of imperialism but, we invented propaganda to justify it. Until Libya

Libya was a violation of every precedent since Geneva. Gaddafi was murdered in cold blood on false charges. Libya was a high quality asset that the banksters wanted desperately on their balance sheets. We are EVIL.

  • @Gruntol5 Work out what you really mean by "we" and "them". Why did innocent woman and children have to die? Churchill and Stalin were monsters just like Hitler and all the other dictators that send men off to die for false reasoning. War is terrorism and there were no winners. The average human only suffers during war have you not figured that out yet.

  • I feel sorry for those people, most of them of my age,on both sides.

War criminals who ordered mass bombing of civilians are to blame.

  • I haven't watched this in a while. Brings a tear. God bless those guys -every one. May it never happen again (fingers crossed).

  • You know, I can't help but be a little disturbed by all the people here who try to put the allies and their actions "in the wrong", as if everything going on was somehow their fault. Almost as many German Civilians put guns to the "inferior" races the Soldiers did. So I'd find it hard to find very many in this conflict who were "Innocent Civilians". Not to mention, It was the German nation as a Whole that started that war. Hitler was the Fuse, the population was the powder keg that he lit off.

  • @MyleneJ

Allies brought it themselves. They humiliated Germans, and they took revenge.

  • @pashka1988 Yea, humiliated them for starting WW1.

  • @MyleneJ yes in hungary wee have no nazis at that time wee had Horthy and they killed children killeg inocent people an shooting at trains ( tuskegee group)

  • how many of civilians they killl .... its " a shame"

  • @Davieeee87 It is a shame that Germany started two wars. Fool me once -shame on you. Fool me twice -shame on me.

  • Pt2. Maybe it is so, but personally I remember (I'm master degree in history) that their grandfathers went to Europe and as volunteers did fight for freedom from nazi occupation. I personally really appreciate this. Thank You sons of America for Your bravery and courage. I always repat this while I'm having lessons with my pupils.

  • Hello, I'm writing from Poland (actually Upper Silesia). At 1:30 You can see can see Liberator shot down over upper silesian city Blechhammer - Blachownia Śląska. I read that two people from its crew lucky survived. It is very important photo for me because it is connection between great history and my family area. Nowadays, all over the world, many people laugh at Americans. They claim they are fat and stupid.

  • I HOPE THEY WERE ALL SHREDDED !

The "Thunderclap plan" was made to kill Germans and not military institutions !

Therefore they used fire bombs !

Because of the "Kinderlandverschickung" Germany sent the children outside the cities. The children were due to the advance of the Russians (Russian like to rape Children you know) brought back to the cities. The biggest part to Dresden!

Then you have bombed it, a full city of children and refugees.

To cover up your crimes, the Holocaust was invented !

  • @DeutschwehR03 - Don't write all emotional, now (to whit - overuse of exclamation marks).

  • We American's are saddened by the thousands of U.S. marines who died in the Pacific. A statistic most people may not be aware of is the 8th Airforce based in England lost more men than the entire marine corp lost in the Pacific.

  • Never forget the brave fighters of the sky...

  • @GABRIEL1030 NEVER FORGET THE MURDERERS IN IRAQ

  • @25IanYCar25

Although I fail to connect the lines, but yes - do not forget how Iraq started war on Iran and Kuwait. Really bloody murderers.

  • can someone please tell me the name of this song? RIP

  • hHAHAHAHHAAHAHAH THat s what u get 4 bombin the fatherland

  • So sad. Man is so stupid to do this to each other :-[

  • I´ve looked at my strips on the shoulder and the wings on my chest, damn i was proud 19 years old and to take the whole damn third reich on my own, that was my feeling before boarding the liner taking me to England in 1943 as a captain on a B-17. 25 missions ahead of me i was foolish to think it was going to be a walk in the park. Hell, we are the the mighty eight for god sake. God i was wrong and i was about to make a journey into hell and back.

  • as a kid watching the film battle of britain was deeply moved watching bomber crews trying to climb out of there falling aircraft ,as 74 said....(perfect song for thoughts)

  • Here we are heading into 70 years since America was brought into the War. I'm from New Zealand and the number of Bomber Pilots and crews lost in the RAF (including our own Commonwealth crews) and the USAF was staggerring. This is a very 'emotional' video and every photo tells a sad story. Frightened 'men' just in their late teens or early twenties ... who's courage and selfless sacrafice should NEVER be forgotten.

  • @wattpilot sorry dude . its the draft 90 %. the other 10 are idiots who wnat to die for the elite. not realizing that of course.

  • @wattpilot Very true

  • fighers and bombers kill people and things by dropping bombs!! did anyone else understand that!?

  • @ISFRProInc do u understand FREEDOM.....???

  • @ISFRProInc ,

So...we should have left Hitler, the Nazi's and the death camps in a Kumbyyah moment?

There is another thing that kills more efficiently than bombs: "Ideology"

There is another ideology on the verge of the same sort of destruction as Hitler's: Obama

  • can someone please give me this song?

  • @MrHawkeye117 Rhythm of Love

  • @epicBARBI3

    Wrong.

  • @MrHawkeye117 the name is Mad World....excellent song for this video..

  • what goes up must come down

  • very sad vid. can someone please tell me the name of this song?

  • The reality of war. Anyone who bought into the propaganda films about it are in for a rude awakening.

  • @evilintel

    Reality of War?

Are you referring to the ongoing attack on America by it's so-called president?

The reality is is declining morality, declining values, destruction of the institution of marriage and the promotion of all things foul have combined to set the stage for America's next revolution.

Sure war is hell but so is socialism and tyranny.

    I'm fighting.

  • @Navigator777777 Well said Navigator, well said and sadly too true. Our only hope of saving this wonderful country is if our people wake up and remove this talking head now in the White House and replace him with a statesman. That will be a beginning, then we have to get back to doing an honest day's work for an honest day's pay, and stop these unions from making outrageous demands for higher pay that drive our jobs overseas.

  • @Navigator777777 I'm sure you are just itchin' to impose your "morality" on others.

  • @RandallFlaggNY ,

    Depends.

    Do you support Obama?

Do you believe the muslims have the right to remove the heads of my family and me?

Do you believe God should be stripped from public places?

The "morality" that formed America...has been the greatest force for good the world has ever seen.

It allows you to spew random thoughts as you please.

One thing is clear: I am opposed to the amoral, narcissistic, Baal worshippers spreading across America like dry rot.

  • @Navigator777777 You should open the American Taliban recruiting office.

Religious extremism of [insert any religion here] sounds all the same.

  • @RandallFlaggNY ,

You are filling the room with your own form of extremism

    Ignorant Nihilism.

How many times will you call a kettle black before you look in a mirror?

  • @Navigator777777 My late father was a 19 year old 2nd Lt. Navigator in the 96th Bomb Squadron, 2nd Bomb Group [Heavy], 15th Air Force. He flew 30 missions and served in the civil administration of Italy after the war. He saw a lot of death, and never talked about it. (Cont.)

  • He went on to Princeton and Harvard Law school. A quiet man, and a true intellectual. He was a Republican. A real Eisenhower/Senator Taft Republican, not the phoney chickenhawk republicans we have today. He was deeply opposed to the Military/Industrial complex, the Vietnam war, and other American adventurism. He didn't think much of Reagan, and had a quiet contempt of chickenhawks. (Con't).

  • @RandallFlaggNY He abhorred extremism and taught me to be skeptical of any dogma.

Ergo, I'm skeptical of your "patriotism" and don't buy your religious extremism. You should think of yourself as the American Taliban. I wouldn't doubt you'd burn "non-believers" at the stake if you could.

By the way, tell us a war story, tough guy. Ever serve?

  • @RandallFlaggNY ,

    Yes.

  • @evilintel When?

  • Perfect tune for this vid 44.

  • 2:40 Goddamn, direct hit on the waist. There's two guys that didn't come back

  • PS The Germans declared war on the USA a couple of days after Pearl Harbour too.

  • I think you'll find the Germans DID start it, they invaded an allie, Poland, among other countries. If you want to blame anything it would be the Wall Street crash and the treaty of Versailles.

  • The Germans did not start "this".GB declared war on Germany. And if we take "evil" as justifying any acts of aggression, including being more evil than what one is fighting why did we not go to war against the UdSSR and Red China? And the women and children who died in the terror raids had absolutely nothing to do with their government. As Ghandi remarked when the dust had settled,to Mr WSC,Congratulations;you have outhitlered Hitler!I suggest you read "One Voice" by Vera Brittain.

  • One should not overlook the fact that bomber pilots, the allied variety, were engaged on a campaign to break the will of the German people. And this included the deliberate bombing of civilian targets.Churchill's orders! The Germans, the recipients of this "liberation" viewed them, rightly so,as Terrorflieger-Terror Flyers!

  • @Squarerig Considering the Germans started this, it's a bit hard for me as an Englishman, to feel sorry for them. The Nazi's were one of the most evil regimes in history and they got what they deserved. When Luftwaffe pilots were shot down they were not murdered by British civillians or the military, but plenty of Allied pilots were shot in cold blood by the Nazi's.

  • Peace for every soldiers in both part of war

  • Very moving video...the music is a nice touch.

  • Terrible loss of life. The daytime bombing runs were just pure suicide.

  • R.I.P. all these folk who died in battle. I feel sad knowing there's a crew of souls on each plane going down. But then i think they are not entirely innocent as they would be en route to, or are returning from attacking cities in England or Germany. why the fuck did they not ally with each other against communist russia? the world would be a very different place.

  • @corpsetime Your comment started off fine, but then it went in an entirely bad direction. Have you not studied history in school?

  • @bulgogi1212 Studying history in school is bullshit. HAve to do it home.

  • @bulgogi1212 please, by all means correct my mistakes.

  • @bulgogi1212 I dont know if his comment is bad or not, but I do admit. I myself was never taught WW2 history in school. They didnt teach it at all.

  • @bulgogi1212 he did . in the american one.

  • @corpsetime Wow do you know or studied history?? Because if you are an adult you're lack of knowledge about history scares me.... But if you are a kid i understand but keep the comments to yourself.

  • this is the sadest video ive ever seen :( so many lost souls and heros... RIP

  • very sad, amazing video, RIP to all those men and women that died on any side for any reason. you will be missed. can someone please link me to this song?!?!

  • Those are amazing photos and I have seen a lot of photos and film footage. Thank you for sharing them with us!!!

  • WWII occurred while I was between the ages of 7 and 11. I had an uncle in the Marines. I remember reading the headlines about the Normandy landings. We didn't see these kind of pictures. Very sobering indeed. We must not give up what these men and women died for, as we are doing now!

  • that song is mad world

  • Most of them were sons, at age from 19 years old guys.

  • Sobering Video indeed!...and a Reminder...that they gave up their lives for us

    RIP...You will never be forgotten

  • you cant even begin to imagine what it was like knowing your going to die in one of those bombers if you get hit badly :S

  • My grandmother was 16 during the war, she remembered the American bombers flying high in the sky on their way to bomb Germany.

She said that there were almost a thousand contrails in the air,and at night the British bombers flew over so it was really hard to sleep.

And then in 1945 a British Wellington bomber crashed in a field near her house killing all 5 crewmembers, she found the British Captain dead in a parachute hanging in a tree. She said it was the most horrible thing she ever saw.

  • @nielscarp so then you're either belgian or dutch, am I right?

  • @rietveen26 Dutch.

  • @rietveen26 Dutch of course

  • @nielscarp My friend's grandmother had a similar story. There was a plane shot down beside her house where she was hiding. When she came out, the pilot was lying on the ground without a head... burning...

  • @karpik232 That's almost the same story as me, a B-24H crashed next to my grandmother's in 1945 on a return flight. One man had the top of his head cut off from the propeller while trying to bail out. The rest died from the explosion. RIP 14 crew D:

  • @karpik232 Yeah I bet there are still a lot of untold stories.

  • If they lock up politicians no-one needs to die.

  • Can you imagine trying to escape the burning, spinning, wreck descending at a rate of hundreds of feet a second!? Utterly terrifying, on par with drowning in a submarine. Not that I would know as I have never died those deaths.

Respect to all common people forced to suffer and die through this war.

  • when there is a bomber in the air, someone will die. Be it the bomber crew, or the people who happen to be underneath it as it flies over.

  • let us not forget the women and children they were bombing on the ground, by accident of course, with the vaunted Norden bombsight, but dead nonetheless;

    strategic daylight bombing, even when perfected, achieved little towards overall victory precisely because it was so inaccurate--having to bomb the same targets half a dozen times with inane crew losses despite fighter escorts all the way there and back;

  • You never die alone in a bomber...

  • 66 years after the war I still feel sad looking at these images! Each plane containing 4 or 5 people! No matter the colour of the uniform, they were still fathers, husbands, brothers etc! R.I.P all the pilots of every nation who died during the IIWW!

  • @mikjon67

No Mikjon, each aircraft contained 10 men!

  • @kenns9 10???? Sweet Jesus! Even worse!

  • @mikjon67

Of all the services commited to the war in Europe, the Air Corp

suffered the highest loss ratio. When you see those aircraft engulfed in flame,

tho each of the ten crew may be alive, they'll never get out :(

68 years ago last friday in what is now known as 'Black Thursday', the Eighth AAF,

in the second mission to Schweinfurt, lost near SIX HUNDRED AIRCREW when 77 B17s failed to return.

Only 65 crew returned home at the end of hostilities.

  • @kenns9 60 didnt return but 17 crash landed or were scraped on return. With a total of 77

  • @mikjon67 Not 4 or 5 mate. All the bombers in this had 10 crew members like the B-17 and B-24 with the exception of the B-25 and B-26 which had 6 and 5 respectively.

  • @bennymick79 Thanks bennymick79! The 31st August 1939 B-24s dropped bombs on Pescara (Italy) My mum was 9 years old then! She remembers the explosions and she lived nearly 20 kms away!

  • @bennymick79 1943 not 1939! Sorry for the error!

  • @mikjon67 I was born in 1983 and I played Call of duty 3 the first mission you had to pretend to shoot enamy soldiers then you had to kill real people who i didnt know its easy killing somone in war but facing up to what you have done is hard ok the allies one that doesnt matter I will tell you what does matter human life no just germans brits a nd yanks a lot of non compatents were killed becuse cities were targeted

  • @hamster700 e.e. cummings lives!

  • @mikjon67 My grandpa was one of 2 who survived a lancaster crash after a sortie over Germany (google Bill Reid) and he won a VC in the process. To the day he died he never forgot those who gave their lives in that plane.

  • @mikjon67 B-17s and B-24s had a crew of 10

  • @mikjon67 US bombers actually had crews of 9-10 including the pilot and copilot. But yes, RIP to all of them

  • Comment removed

  • I'm there with you. My father flew a B-25 Mitchell in WWII. Although I cannot confirm it, I was told of one mission that he returned from in which every man in his crew was killed and he was the only one left alive, and he too was wounded, and he flew the plane home. If it's true, I cannot imagine the pain these men went through or are still going through. Let's remember that these men may not have had a choice-just doing their job. I pray for all who died, and those who survived.

  • @wkledzinski Your father to me is a hero! Very sorry to hear that he was injured! The fact that he flew the plane back to the base ensured that his friends were buried with their families or in a military cemetary! Only he knows how he felt! If he is still alive then you can refer to him what i wrote! If he has rejoined with his friends then I will remember him the next time I visit a military cemetary here in Italy where I live!

  • @mikjon67 Thank you for your kind words. He is a hero to me as well, as are all those who served and did their job, even if they didn't want to. My father has rejoined his friends due to natural causes. Let us never forget their sacrifices.

  • @mikjon67 one of the most amazing comments i've read on u.tube. what u wrote i could'nt put better myself. thank u. R.I.P. to all the forces of all the countries in WWII.

  • @eagled96 Thank Goodness they will never be forgotten! Not even 100 years or 1000 years from now! My Italian grandfather was injured during the war but he died in 1964! I don't know on my fathers Polish side if anyone died! I grew up selling poppies so I could say that even then I was helping to remember! Here in Italy where I live is a Canadian IIWW military cemetery. Every year I visit them leaving a prayer! 20 year old lads who fought for our freedom!

  • @mikjon67 Heroes they are ..

  • @mikjon67

so were the people they were carpet bombing in the cities.

  • @mikjon67 The color of the uniform certainly does matter.

  • @mikjon67 in flying fortress the crew was 13-17 person and in most bombers had 9 or more crew

  • @mikjon67

Behind every uniform there's a human.

So why do we all have to kill each other?

  • @mikjon67

In fact, 4 to 9 poor guys.

  • As said from a friend to the family that flew with the 8th from 43-45 as a first officer then captain. We knew that our chances to survive through 25 was almost zero after the first mission. I mean the aircraft looked like a swiss cheese. Two blown engines and the rear gunner badly wounded. I don´t think we hit the target even close and the flak was just hell, pure living hell and there is nothing in the world you can do about it on the bomb run. Just sit and wait, wait, wait, and hope, hope.

  • Forget about it people it resumes at:

  • @MrDanneyeah Germany had already surrenderd and russia would NOT of won without our HELP as a matter of FACT russia and germany were bedfellows at the begening of the war it was a russian icebreaker that cleared a passage for the german raider the KOMARAN so it could get to the southern pacific to raid shipping look it up.Russia just wanted the land back they lost to the japs when their navy got their asses handed to them. They also kept our B29's that made forced landings n COPIED THEM ! FACT

  • @chilsam Forget about it, resumes at:

    /watch?v=EewGMBOB4Gg

    Like it if you agree!

  • @MrDanneyeah Had Russia invaded Germany rather than what did happen, their losses would have been so horrendous it would have taken them years to recover, look what happened in Finland. Quanity and logistics defeated the Germans, not quality. The amount of supplies America sent to Russia helped them considerably.

  • How horrifyingly terrible. We are all brothers and sisters yet we continue to do this to each other. Madness. We seriously need a world government to impose the resolving of differences through peaceful means. Only then will we have fully vindicated these sacrifices.

  • @skyblazer7 You mean a NEW WORLD ORDER? NO FU*KIN WAY!

  • @chilsam Don't be so paranoid. It would be far better than having self-centered and self-important nations deciding to kill off or mistreat their populations or waging war on their neighbor when it suits them.

  • @skyblazer7 Im not paranoid I just see a one world government as a threat it is,and if you think nazi germany was bad this will be way worse. One power with no other power to keep it in CHECK? You have a childs outlook on things.

  • @chilsam I'm sure some cavemen thought the same thing when someone suggested that they stop their nomadic existence and build a village. Anyways, you have your opinion and I have mine. Oh, and I appreciate the compliment...I do consider myself to have the hopeful optimistic outlook of a child.

  • @skyblazer7 It wasn't one as you know, its easily manipulated minds like yours that WILL be the down fall of the world as we know it .The powers that be FORCING you to do their will and you thinking "HOW DID THIS HAPPEN" Man is man greedy, selfish and matierialistic and PEOPLE like you wanting to give ALL the power to one entity is ......well I can't get my CAVEMAN mind to grasp it.When the sh*t hit's the fan I can hear you now stating "MY PUSSIES SORE" WAAAAA! LOL IMHO

  • know your history; we didn't care about the Chinese any more than anyone else--what we cared about, like the Brits, was the oil in Poland & Indonesia; we deposed the Jap gov't 80 years before Pearl Harbour, to put our puppets in power (just like we did in Hawaii, Panama, Hayti, Zaire, Iran, etc.); we could've stopped the Japanese & Hitler when both started, because genocide is EVERYONE'S business--despite what the Bushes and their supporters & tea-party neo-fascists might think;

  • @dreemeagle Tea Party Neo-Fascists?

What about the Tea Party makes you say Fascist???

Freedom of speech & the 2nd Amendment would have prevented Hitler's domination of Europe.

  • A sobering reminder of the sacrifices made and horror endured by so many in all services and of all nationalities in the war against facism. They must never be forgotten.

  • The freedom we in the West enjoy today was paid for by the incredible courage and sacrifice of these men. My admiration for and gratitude to them is unbounded.

  • And they were all just kids by today's standards. Too much was asked of them, yet they delivered...and more.

  • The first picture like from Bugs Bunny cartoon.

  • !!

  • Well, if you remove a wing from an aircraft, it usually tends to crash.

  • I LOVE THIS IMAGES... THIS AIRPLANES WERE A GENOCIDE BOMBERS OVER GERMANY... LONG LIVE TO GERMANS FIGHTERS!

  • @nachjagger33 Hell yea, and Nazi Germany did absolutely nothing to provoke it either!! They didnt start a war for territory, bomb cities, they were great!! Then these bombers come along and just start droping bombs for no reason!! Go Luftwaffe!!!

  • @vetitoe362 fuck u nazis killed millions and millions of inoccent ppl, they used fucking 1 day olds for target practice!!!! FUCK U AND UR NAZI LIFE!!! U HAVE A FUCKING PROBLEM!!! NAZIS WERE SELFISH PIECES OF SHIT!!!! ROT IN HELL U FUCKING CUNT!!!

  • @NewEnglandboy453 Your a fucking dumbass buddy, look sarcasm up on google... FAGGOT.

  • @nachjagger33 SAME WITH U FUCKING SHITBAG!!! THE OTHER GUY THAT AGREED WIT WAS JUST RUN DOWN BY ME!!! ITS UR TURN U FUCKING SHITHEAD!!!! NAZI WERE EVIL PIECES OF SHIT!!!!!! THEY KILL SSOOOOOO MANY INNOCENT PPL!!!! THEY USED FUCKING BABIES FOR TARGETS!!!!! ROT IN HELL U WORTHLESS CUNT!!!!

  • @NewEnglandboy453 ....and you didn't "rundown" anyone.

  • @NewEnglandboy453... Gracias por tus buenos comentarios e intenciones.

Pero lo siento; yo no entiendo inglés.

Como dice el dicho árabe: Que Dios te dé el doble de lo que me deseas.

    Gracias.

  • @nachjagger33 WAT THE FUCK

  • @nachjagger33 Like they werent doing the same thing.Tis to laugh! I think most of them were shot down?

  • THAT B-17 WAS RAMMED BY A LUFFTWAFFE PLANE.....MANY ACCOUNTS OF THIS SUICIDAL TENDENCY TOWARDS THE END OF WAR.......

  • those were the best American Soldiers, at least, they fought for some thing good. Years after that, they fought because they were asked or brainwashed by some groups of power

  • hope those guys got out safely

  • @arashfoxy They started it we finished it war is not kind or selective you kill them before they kill you those same people were making the weapons used to kill the men in these planes they were the ENEMY you need to WAKE UP! You are a FOOL!

  • Comment removed

  • @chilsam 1- it was england and france that declare war on germany, so they started the war.

2- THEY are not enemy, THEY are ordinary civilians and it appears you guys dont want to distinguish between individuals responsible for war and civilians caught in between.

  • @arashfoxy What so Germany didn't invade poland? I don't think your seeing REALITY The ORDINARY people didn't stop them when they could because the ORDINARY people were benefiting from there idea's.Well when things changed and it was them getting the SHITTY end of the stick we were suppose to see the "LIGHT" ? You must live at Disney world"s it's a small world after all ride. While were at it ,Germany invaded Russia and Allied themselves with the Jap's. Who attacked US and also paid the price.

  • @chilsam

    well said mate
