@monicho545 my 2003 Z1000 will go to 90mph in 1st gear. Bikes are made with a very very tall 1st gear and then shorter gears to keep them high in the power band when you shift. Know what you are talking about before you say something is "Impossible"...... Nothing is impossible!

@250honda almost all of the current literbikes will do over 100mph in first gear straight from the factory. A smaller 1st gear ratio with that much power would make those bike wheelie happy and very hard to handle (as if they are not already lol).

What are safe revs for cruising at? I got a ZX-10 about a month ago and am loving it but when im cruising around at about 6-7K I'm worrying this is to high and might be causing excessive wear on my engine just for cruising.

the break in thing is pretty subjective..I cut off a bit of break in period from recommended and it ran flawless until it was stolen by some dick..i've heard of people not even giving a break in period and their bikes still run fine with 30 000 kms on it..but yea..break in isn't mesured with speed

thats true my k5 suzuki 1000cc and my friends zx10r 04.. at the moment we hit 185 on the speedo i was doing 169.67mph and the green hit 168.04mph on the VBOX (he is 20lbs lighter than me) i topped out at 180.12mph and he 178.02mph i am around 202lbs and he is 180lbs.. its all down to a wheight game and how good you can hide under the fairing
Speeds are way off. I own a zx14 and will wax a 10 above 140 mph. And when I do 186 it is realy fast. Those top speed runs you see on zx10s are really only in the 160s. The bike will go a true 186 but it will take alot longer to get there. While a 14 will go on to 190 plus. I have rode both and the 10s speedo is off so much it is funny. Still a faster than hell ride though.
ur wrong man... i mean you can be very proud of ur bike but that do not mean that u have the most powerful and best bike in the world, the 2008 zx10r have 200hp with air induction and the zx14 have 198hp so we can say almost the same power but one a lot lighter than other

104MPH in 1st is pretty much standard with all 1000's new. Great video, my zx6r indicates 84mph at the limit in 1st gear.

thats a lap timer. and these bikes are built to go as fast as they can all the time. thats why people race them.
physical speed means nothing, i can hover at 100mph at 6500 in 6th gear all day. its absolutely pointless to equate speed with load on a sportbike.

the break in thing is pretty subjective..I cut off a bit of break in period from recommended and it ran flawless until it was stolen by some dick..i've heard of people not even giving a break in period and their bikes still run fine with 30 000 kms on it..but yea..break in isn't mesured with speed

Those who didn't were usually Harley drivers, who are so proud of their bikes which don't make even 100 hp from 1600 engine and which don't have any handling capabilities in speeds over 80 km/h. Oh, and if I waved to police bike, they usually pulled me over.

Car drivers are usually full of road rage and will jump at the opportunity to start an argument and even a fight. There is some comraderie between car drivers but its more often you see shitty people. Maybe has something to do with being on show and not in a box enclosed from everyone, who knows. well in the uk its like that.

wet with full tank its 427lbs....got it weighed on a calibrated scale. it is 2lbs heavier than an 06 zx6. conversely the 2008 fireblade is 2lbs lighter than a zx6. but yea, the busa and bking are fucking pigs. and no one rides a bking, i have seen 4 in my life and they all were in the showroom. they will never win in a corner.

thats true my k5 suzuki 1000cc and my friends zx10r 04.. at the moment we hit 185 on the speedo i was doing 169.67mph and the green hit 168.04mph on the VBOX (he is 20lbs lighter than me) i topped out at 180.12mph and he 178.02mph i am around 202lbs and he is 180lbs.. its all down to a wheight game and how good you can hide under the fairing

Speeds are way off. I own a zx14 and will wax a 10 above 140 mph. And when I do 186 it is realy fast. Those top speed runs you see on zx10s are really only in the 160s. The bike will go a true 186 but it will take alot longer to get there. While a 14 will go on to 190 plus. I have rode both and the 10s speedo is off so much it is funny. Still a faster than hell ride though.
