  • Holy shit!! The picture in the video ripped me out of my chair and took me back to 1982 Rupp Arena Lexington KY!!!! Tommy Aldridge on Drums and Rudy Sarzo on Bass!! Not sure who was playing Keys but the dude was in a long black coat with metal studs on it!! Fucking Awesome!

  • Ohh man that sounds like MR . Tommy Aldridge on the skins, yes!!! what a great band he had in the early 80s...

  • Randy fu#%ing ROCKS!!!!! RIP Randy. We love you <3

  • Talk about not goin' out on a low note! Good Night!!!

  • he really made this his own. randy rhoads r.i.p. you are my idol and a musical genius

  • R.I.P. Randy Rhoads

  • if justin bieber is compared to randy again some one should get a beating

  • the crescendo he builds through the solo is simply epic. What a fukn legend he is

  • ok guys quit replying to my comment really fucking raping my new comments section, and yes i know it was not a fair deal but obviously some people find it hard to see the sarcasm in the phrase.

  • @AlexM1175

That's what you get for Copy & Pasting comments!

  • @Actueel68 oh god give over

  • Children of the damned, Children of the sea, Children of frost, now Children of the grave... How many more those fuckin´ children is there yet?!

  • @skimam Children of Bodom?

  • @skimam children of the sun lol

  • 8 people are deaf

  • my ears jusy got raped i was not readyyyyyy /

  • Randy new how to tap into the music even when it wasn't his own composition. A true musician at all levels and genre. Thanks for the upload.

  • Wow. I never thought Tony Iommi could be topped on this but...

  • I first heard this as a kid and never knew it was Randy playing until now. Makes sense. I was blown away then - and now, once again. RR was amazing beyond description - I have listened to guitarists my whole life and that was almost incomparable. Soul + Metal = WOW. Thank you You Tube for the random side result.

  • Randy Is the Best, Still too day Period....... You dont hear that kind of playing any more :(

  • i wonder where people in the 80s got their leather pants, and badass vests. like randy, where did he get his leather vests and stuff? i will never know

  • @mattRRgraham1996 - the original polka dot vest Randy wore was made for him by his Mom. With Ozzy all the clothes were custom made for them.

  • @RadioStarNYC ohh gotcha dang lol i need to get a custom vest making person lol. and true hahah he made it awesome, just the heavier sound with the C# low E string with maybe hitting the F# to F instead of the A-G# would sound cool. idk hes the one playing it.. i wish there was footage of him playing it!!!!!

  • 2 palavras para vc zakk randy roadhs!

  • thanks for the upload, but please less compression distortion next time :(

  • if randy did this in drop C# it would be the absoulute bomb

  • @mattRRgraham1996 - the thing is - Randy didn't need to have to.

  • Randy's style brings a welcome change to this awesome song.

  • Even on this disintegrating recording that guitar tone it fat, rich & creamy. Damn!

  • Randy hated playing this shit - but I'm glad he did. My guess is that he is trying to amuse himself as much as possible in this version....what with all the complex fills and other stuff he added....

  • @markcamp1 hated playing Black Sabbath ? i doubt it

  • @DJBoLtZ Trust me dude. He hated it. If you read the McIver and Sarzo books, you'll learn that Randy was supposed to be the guitarist on Speak Of The Devil - a live performance of all Black Sabbath stuff. Randy thought it was beneath him as a musician to play other people's music, and actually tried to get out of doing contractually. Not only that, but he hated doing Paraniod, Children of the Grave, and Iron Man in the Blizzard sets...I'm an old fan of Sabbath. Randy wasn't.

  • @DJBoLtZ Do a YouTube search for "That Metal Show S04E06" with Rudy Sarzo. At around 4:55, you can see Rudy say it...

  • @markcamp1 ever hear Randy say it? Not, Im 99.999% sure he wouldn't have seeing he was Influenced big time by the Most Influential Guitar Player in The Heavy Metal Genre Tony Iommi.

  • @DJBoLtZ What are you, like ten years old? All that's been written about Randy's thoughts and opinions on Black Sabbath was that he didn't think much of it. Did I hear Randy say it? Hahahahaha, yeah. We had drinks one night and he said Tony Iommi was a joke. Pfft. Black Sabbath is great music regardless of whether Randy liked it or not, or whether he liked to play it or not. Just get your facts right before you start spewing on the Internet. It makes you look dumb..if you care.

  • @markcamp1 ur a fucking dumb assed noob find me 1 quote 1 interview where he said he disliked playing any sabbath music then STFU i know more about ozzy/sabbath than you know about your own family idiot

  • do your research

    @DJBoLtZ

  • @markcamp1 he does that in every sabbath cover lol

  • If he would be alive, he would be the best guitar player in the whole fucking universe...

    Randy Rhoads = GOD

  • He never played the same music as the same way. Must be why those who say they saw more than a show it says have been something great.

  • i like how they changed it up a bit

  • Randy was a great musician and I believe anyone with a small bit of talent would realize that. He is gone now so we have who we have to listen to. RIP RR thanks for blessing my generation with your talent. Tony rocked this song as well. No comparison, 2 different ppl and 2 different styles. Both good..my opinion

  • That isnt thunder, my mommy used to say, thats Randy, Shredding on his guitar for you, listen to his choice shredding, listen as god himself jams with Randy

  • we kno why we are all here,, just to listen to randy and his solo and to listen to him just improve the song

  • i would put dime in the same leage as randy both were fantastic i want them both back then put them in the same band

  • randy rhoads was the best!

  • ok... WOAH!

  • @AlexM1175 No one could be that retard to do such a bad trade... XD where stuck with the kid until his voice is breaking or until he discover and die from heroin.

  • @AlexM1175 A penny in change of a Billion thousand dollars? maybe he won't agree :/

  • @gomher4 god loves everybody .. even justin bieber so the bible says... :L

  • @AlexM1175

i think randy is worth more than...well you know who..

we would have to give god more than that 3 year old to make it a fair deal :)

  • @AlexM1175 I think gods getting jipped lol

  • @AlexM1175 I doubt the big guy up there is gonna give Randy back for Bieber. He even knows when he gets ripped off

  • @AlexM1175 FAIR DEAL??

  • @AlexM1175 god doesnt want justin bieber! why do you think he gave him to us?

  • @AlexM1175 i think he will agree to those terms

  • @AlexM1175 nop, Randy is worth way more than that idiot....

  • @Jacksonrr123 but what if god its gay ? ^^

  • @MrAndreasbolle yeah thats why HE made HER

  • @MrAndreasbolle umm i really doubt about it...

  • @AlexM1175 he dosent want that woman up there lets just steal it from him :OO

  • @AlexM1175 FAIR???? What are you?

  • @AlexM1175 No use - Randy wouldn't want to play Rock anyway.

  • @CentraCross so h at least hed still hed be around

  • @CentraCross Randy was a Rock and Roll player also,,ever hear No Bone Movies?

  • @paraglidermx Just because he plays it and is absolutley brilliant at it - he doesn't have to like it. He didn't.

  • @CentraCross He Liked it,,also classical was his true love,,but he liked rock and roll,,,how could you say he didnt???It was all over his face when he was playing for QR and Ozzy,,common.

  • @AlexM1175 thats really not a fair deal cause god is jealous of randy rhoads!

  • @AlexM1175 Come on!!! you would not trade a million dollars for a piece of shit!! So God will not give us Randy in exchange for Bieber lol XD

  • @AlexM1175 god doesn't like bieber, that's why he was kicked down to Earth. and even if he accepted we would need 487564769485548763576495836236482374656546475875437854383754387578976 biebers or more to reach Randy's value

  • Oh Ya!! I saw this tour. Excellent show!!

  • @PurpleSnowFox hey come on, thats a clash of titans. you are a simple mortal that has no opinion on a comparission like that.

  • This is good but the version off of tribute is better IMO.

  • @eilrruughei Yep, Tribute is the best in my opinion.

  • randy and tony are both GODS!!!!!!!

  • @DanW900 and zakk

  • one of rhoads' best man may he rest in peace and shred in heaven for eternity and jam away the classics

  • That chord progression at :51 is pure evil

  • @PurpleSnowFox

Don't argue who is better. Just listen The Music.

  • i love that pic of randy

  • he came out the womb with a guitar and this is byfar best version of children of the grave ive heard anyone know if there is a video 2 this x

  • Really one of the very best of all time. What incredible sounds he could make. Very few guitarists could command so much attention throughout every performance like Randy Rhoads. He could not help but grandstand constantly but it was so good it worked all the time. Rock star big time. The real thing.

  • Really one of the very best of all time. What incredible sounds he could make. Very few guitarists could command so much attention throughout every performance like Randy Rhoads. He could not help but grandstand constantly but it was so good it worked all the time.

  • I love the cleaned up tribute version 1000 times better than this. He sounds like he's having an off night which being a guitar myself is completely understandable. Randy was one of the best though...that tribute album is sick.

  • love randy and all but, he doesn't do justice to tony's trills...

  • fucking amazing.

  • The solo is infinitely better on the randy rhoads tribute album, rip RR

  • It amazes me how someone is arguing over internet. This is a classic rock song we're all listening to, and I see two people arguing about if God exist or not... Am I the only one who doesn't see the connection? XD Just enjoy the fucking music

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW I AM BLOWN AWAY! NEVER HEARD ANY VERSION OF RANDY children of the grave live except for the tribute album one

  • @AonaranMan He's a wanna be know it all prick =)

  • @AonaranMan Another scumsucking pig wasting our air on this planet asshole

  • @TAURIAN1BLU AHHH...is someone trolling...desperate for attention??..It's simple with Morons like you...you didn't get enough hugs when you were growing up

  • @TAURIAN1BLU FUCK YOU. RANDY RHOADS WAS THE FUCKING KING OF GUITAR/METAL. HE COULD SHOVE HIS FLYING V UP YOUR ASS

  • @bloggieguy dumb ass he knows the comment he replied to was dissing randy taurian1blu is defending randy rhoads so dont hate over the internet its childish

  • Iommi definitely plays this better if you ask me.

  • Randy kicks ass but I prefer Iomi on this song better.

  • Saw the same show on 2/20/82 in Dallas. Will forever be the best show I have ever seen or ever will see. Nobody has even come close to the "magic" that this band had live. Simply awesome ear candy. Thanks for posting it!

  • randy was the best ozzys guitarist :P rip rhoads

  • Dont ever put Down ZAKK and Randy was gonna be the best in the world but God took him for his personal guitarist

  • @TAURIAN1BLU Fuck zakk. After Rhoads, I'd prefer to listen to Jake E. Lee anyday.

But then again, opinions are like assholes. Everbody has a different one, but they all stink.

  • @6spock5 MORON

  • @TAURIAN1BLU How does me having a preference make me a 'moron, you little prick. Fuck you.

  • I'm surprised this was so late in his life. He jammed much better solos on this song and he seemed like he was always getting better.

  • Ozzy in top shape...beautiful. he should retire. Shame

  • This is Definitely Randy. I think what's confusing some people is the tone. It says it's taken from the soundboard which make it sound more harsh. Some of the licks he plays in the solo though are identical to what he played on the version that's on "Tribute".

  • Dude, this is Randy. If a Rhoads fan can't identify some of his signature licks and tone from this audio, then you don't know Randy Rhoads. I personally like his interpretation of the song.

  • I think this may be Bernie Torme'. Not sounding like Randy's style or tone. Unless the date is wrong and it's from a very early tour.

  • it isn't randy style!

  • This is not Randy, definitely. He could´t play a solo so slow and without inspiration like this !!!

  • @Parthasarathidas1 He was playing a Tony Iommi song, so he played it like Tony Iommi...slow, and without inspiration. ^_^

  • Gay this is NOT Randy sorry - NO WAY. I saw him in 81. Had the KB tapes live and know every note. If it was then he was really drunk or off his game.

  • @biodot88 are people that fucking stupid? so you have every note eh? thats laughable man randy was human contrary to popular belief... he didnt play things the way they were layed down on tape...he played what he felt at the time, that's what a lot of blues players, jazz players do, they play what is fresh in their minds do you understand??? Randy hunted down guitar teachers in every city they played in. Just consider him Johnny 5 man...need input need input...

  • They have millions of miles of video of Black Sabbath but nothing live of Randy and Ozzy in concert?

  • Yup this is Randy. He's using his flanger right here. And no one else who played with ozzy played the Db5 power chord and then picked the B and E strings. That's definitely something only Randy would do

  • @icecube0606 how comee these ppl dont think this is randy..they should know by the way he plays its 100% randy...help me out here

  • Isn't this Joe Holmes?

  • I think you are right. This isn't Randy....

  • this is easily the most aggressive brootal Randy version I've heard...at least thru my speakers..I'm wondering why in the hell they never released this show? this is way better than even the Tribute album.

  • wait WTF. randy rhoads never played for sabbath.children of the grave is a sabbath song. randy played for ozzy ozbourne in the 80's when ozzy got kicked outa sabbath

  • Randy played some of the Black Sabbath songs LIVE with Ozzy. Paranoid and Children of The Grave being a couple. Maybe more.

Having said that, someone correct me on this statement but this does NOT sound like Randy Rhoads. I know Randy's style and sound VERY well and this does not sound like him. Not calling anyone a liar. I'm just saying.

  • @devileyebrow1 your an idiot

  • Randy was incredible...but Iommi's solo on the original is THE solo. This isn't even close really. and stfu with any negativity bullshit..I saw RR with Ozzy twice. The day I heard the news of his death still saddens me to this very day. I had tickets to a third concert to see him but it was cancelled and they rescheduled, Bernie Torme was the guitar player for three weeks with Ozzy. My friends and I left halfway through because it was just too depressing not to see Randy up there with Ozzy.

  • GREAT GUITARPLAYER!!!

  • This is incredible

  • The solo is Epic!

  • @Starsmuse Is unbelievable...It almost make me cry...Chills everytime i hear it

Can you feel the guitar...Feels like it wants to talk

  • @TheBloodStaindSteel oh woops disregard that last comment haha

  • @TheBloodStaindSteel too bad randy's was december 16th..... sorry to break it to u man!

  • @jacoblroark Dec, 6th, 1956 is Randys B-day.

  • EVERYBODY GO NUCKING FUTS!!!!

  • iommi is better than randy in everyway, but randy was an awesome guitarist

  • best version of the song if you ask me

  • This is better than the original

  • @guitarmessiah95 never!

  • @misko1961 Yes randy! playing!

  • @guitarmessiah95 If you believe that bullshit its time to get your hearing checked

  • wow randy's power man

  • hippy metal head R and O fuck yeaaaaa

  • OH MY GOD!!! RANDY RHOADS IS THE BEST NO DOUBT I LOOOVE YOU!!!!!!

  • he had fun with this song he must of experimented with all his songs take them one step further im so amazed that he died that young dime sounded like him

  • randy rhoads died because god wants some guitar lesson from him.

  • @Gaw1n You are dead wrong, buddy-boy; he climbed the golden stairs because his contract with the devil expired!!!

  • @Gaw1n .......We see Randy again when we go yourself.

Then again, we see all the other musicians. I'm looking forward to the big concert we will see.

The singer Dio, Randy guitar, bass guitar Phil Lynott, and all the others.

They were always bad to others, the need to stage hand and work hard, party no.

After the concert back to hell, and we continue to celebrate with the others.

with love and respect for Randy Rhoads. from Germany

  • @Gaw1n dude best comment ever xD !!!!!!

  • @Gaw1n best comment I've ever read RIP Randy 1956-1982 we all love your music and your beautiful guitar playing, safe to say one of the very few musicians who took the attention away from the Ozzman

  • @Gaw1n hey! Lemmy don't need lessons!, or yes?

  • @Gaw1n worth searching through 9 pages of comments to see this one. BEST COMMENT EVER!

  • @Gaw1n Well said mate.

  • i was fortunate to have seen randy live and the other guitarist ozzy played with with and Brad Gillis was by far the best. But they are all good. And im from Randys home town and he is burried here. San Bernardio CA..just in case you dont know.

  • Excellent Guitar Playing, But There's just something about the way that Iommi does it that is so menacing and doomy.

  • Zack is a good guitarist...but he is NOT RANDY RHOADS....the guy is a joke! Zack plays the same shit in every song he does, the same licks...do something different for Gods sake!! He is an idiot and a legend in his OWN brain. Randy was a Mozart type!

  • @JohnnyTruthSmaksHard first of all its ZAKK ... then is doesnt play same shit every song ... he is e true musician ... and he aint randy, thats true ...

  • @hellkitchenification yeah but he plays thing so fast you cant hear a god damn note he plays so he sucks

  • @randyrhoadesisawsome LOL same with randy...he played fast...but he didnt suck... so Zakk doesnt suck ... he just has his own style...

  • @hellkitchenification actually randy didnt play fast all the time and he didnt play as fast as zakk most of the time. zakk just plays for speed. randy is more dynamics zakk uses a penitionic line and speeds up so fast you cant even hear it

  • i'll bet when iommi heard randy playing those sabbath songs, il bet he shit his pants

  • God he played the hell out of that les paul! Pure genius!

  • Comment removed

  • This is alright, but I absolutly hate when that hillbilly loser Zack Wylde gets on any classic Sabbath shit. He completly ruins it.

  • All I can say is fuckin' Randy was playing guitar way ahead of anybody's time!My opinion the best that ever played!

  • 5:01 is the worst part

  • I love randy but no one plays black sabbath songs better then black sabbath

  • @heavytom89 Thats true.

  • hahahah, i read somewhere that randy hated playing sabbath tunes....no disrespect, just sayin.....peace......RIP Randy!
