  • This vid would definitely be for someone who has some or has experience becuz it was too fast with no show thru details of how to actually step by step crochet.

  • @AkemiSakina - please check my channel. I have separate short videos on all the stitches needed to make this beanie. chain stitch, slip stitch, single crochet, etc. Those are very close up and detailed. Don't give up, you can do this! : )

  • btw..you make the best form fitting beanies ever! they fit really good and aren't pointy or squarish at he crown like others i have seen made on youtube. we love them. thank you once again, my friend. we just love you! :)

  • @hauntedfamilyinAZ - Thank you

  • Just saying hola! love you yolanda...:)

  • I'm a beginner and this video moved way too fast for me to follow.

  • @EbonyJade81 - check out my channel for the separate videos on how to make each of the stitches needed. Those go slowly and are very close up. Please check them out today, they will really help.

  • this worked out sooo good

  • @marii001hot - : )

  • DO WE SLIP STITCH AT THE TOP OF THE 1ST DOUBLE CROCHET?

  • @marii001hot - no, you slip stitch into the 2nd chain.. that you created to go up to the next round. It doesn't technically count as a dc.

  • yeay..! I just finished it..! Thank you so much..! This is so easy.

  • Would a size H or I work?? Im 16 and i want to make the panda beanie cus i lala love pandas!! Oh and for a bigger size than for babies how many rows of incresed rows would i need? Kind of new at this (: ive made three berets and and beanie but on a loom

  • @PrincessGoezRawr - Use a size J hook for your beanie. All sizes only take 12 rows. It's the hook size and yarn thickness that makes the size difference

  • @PrincessGoezRawr - Use a size J for your age. You still only do the 12 rows, try it on to make sure it fits. If you want it stretchy, just don't do the last row of sc. Only 12 rows of dc.

  • Also do I need to do the increase dc all the way for a size 22" head? Thanks :-) for a strechy fit, or it doesn't matter?

  • @Betty10567 - to do it stretchy, just don't do the last row of sc.. only dc stitches.

  • Hi Yolanda! How many rows for a head size 22" thanks so much. loves your tutorials.

  • @Betty10567 - 12 - 14 rows. You can try it on. Only do 2 dc in each chain for rows 2 - 3, then from row 4 and on, only 1 dc in each chain. Don't do the last sc row if you want it stretchy. Just use a all dc stitch thru out.

  • Thank you for your time. I feel I can make one.

  • @chinadoll401 - that is a Big YES! The size of the hook will determine the size of the finished product. Even though this beanie doesn't require exact gauge like a sweater, it still matters. The smaller the hook, the smaller the finished product. If you crochet very tightly you may want to use a size larger hook, if you crochet very loose then a smaller hook helps. First try the suggested hook size.

  • @yolandasotolopez plz i looked all day for a youtube for beginners to mak a beanie with 2 pom poms it shows oh yes video of some beautiful pom pom beanies but not how to make them i need a youtube to follow do you have anything at all for this pattern on youtube ty gby

  • Very easy video! Thanks so much!

  • @wootsie28 thank you

  • thanks for this video, it was easy to follow. since this video is the only one that i actually know how to follow, i wonder if i can make an adult hat using the same techniques? for example in row 4, 2 dc with a total of 96?

  • @aznqt2 - I've never tried that. I have used the same pattern with a size K hook and thicker yarn and it came out perfect for an adult size.

  • Hi Yolanda, Can you please do a really nice ladies slouchy beanie, not a Kingston but more of a fashionable slouchy . i havnt found any youtube tutorials of slouchy beanies that look full and puffy around the back of the head. they all seem to drop flat to the back like a beret. II would like to make one with a few different stitches other than the basic, sc,dc,ect. any ideas would be nice. thanks.

  • @whisperofpain, try the baby cocoon, it uses the same stitches, with options for edge trim. It makes a great set.

  • @yolandasotolopez i was following the caption and it depeared.so now im lost.if i gave u my email would there be anyways u could send me the pattern to this bennie?please.comment bk as soon as u can ..thanks soo much

  • @skcdjc006 - I don't have a written one.. basically after row 3, meaning rows 4 -12 you just do 1 dc in each chain, when you get to the end of each row, you slip stitch then chain 2, and repeat. When you finish row 12 Then you are done.

  • @yolandasotolopez -how many chains do u do to do the magic circle?

  • @skcdjc006 - no chains, if you feel more comfortable with chains, start with 4 chains, slip stitch into the first stitch, then 2 chains to go up to start your first round. Now do your 10 dc into the middle of the small circle.

  • @skcdjc006 - to begin you do the magic circle, with 12 dc into the circle, tighten circle. slip stitch into chain 2, chain 2 to start row 2, do 2 dc in each chain (meaning an increase in each space for a total of 24 dc) then repeat for row 3, 2 dc in each chain for a total of 48 dc).. rows 4 -12 is just 1 dc in each chain, no more increaess then you are done. I hope this helps

  • @yolandasotolopez -thank u so much for this.i will try it and let u know how it does.

  • thanks so much, this was so simple and fun to do, i'm a beginner and you made it very easy to understand and follow, I made my sister a beanie for her baby shower present and I'm sure shes gonna love it! thanks!

  • @whisperofpain try the baby cocoon, it uses the same stitches, with options for the top edge trim. It makes a great set.

  • @whisperofpain - I wanted to let you know that I just uploaded "Learn to crochet" video 1 of 5. I am working on a crocheting video tutorial series. The first and second video demonstrate the basic stitches, the written abbreviations and symbols. I think you will find it useful. Please share with your friends.

  • @yolandasotolopez so if you wanted to make a childs hat could you use a size H hook?

  • @lilwayneeluvr - yes, H or I, how old is the child? Remember kids heads aren't really that much smaller than adults. If they're under 4 years old, then yes maybe, measure the childs head first. A size J (depending on how tight you crochet) in this pattern usually is about 18 inches in diameter (measure around the forehead) it stretches though. Just remember to finish row 12 with a row of dc.. don't do a sc and it will stretch.. if you do the sc at the last row, it gets tighter

  • @yolandasotolopez the child is 10 years old and her head measures 21 inches in diameter so what size hook would you prefer? :)

  • @lilwayneeluvr - as long as you don't crochet too tightly a size J hook should work. Just be sure to use only double crochet in all of yoru rows. Do not use a sc in the last row as this makes it tighter. Good luck.

  • @yolandasotolopez thank you so much!!! (: <3 ill tell u if it works
