@on3n1ght3r666 Mmmmk, lemme put it like this, if they had the Shogun main riffs (and screams), Ascendancy choruses (on all instruments except drums, since I like Nick's style a little better), and Ascendancy or Ember to Inferno solos. The Shogun solos were to jarbled and rattly for me, but I think what bothered me the most about Shogun was that the clean vocals were really off, and the pitch changes and rhythm were annoying and funky.

@on3n1ght3r666 I think they lost a lot with in waves, but this is just my opinion...I am not so convinced by in waves because with the crusade and shogun they had reached a high level of composition by creating stories and atmospheres and solos were really more difficult and less natural than ember to inferno and ascendancy..and now with in waves it feels like they returned to the teen age

how can you say that they are gradually changing to a radio friendly band? The crusade had a couple of songs that were just as radio friendly as some of the songs on "in waves". Then they go and make an album like "shogun" who is radio hostile all around. And now they made "in waves". And this latest album has some of their heaviest tracks to date. Trivium are far from selling out imo. Trivium are just doing what they feel like doing.
