Too many fuckheads to respond to, but I will try. No one is a bigger Led Zeppelin fan than me.They chose Jason Bonham is because they know him well, hell, they can basically be considered Jason's uncles. I understand the reasoning behind Jason being asked to do it, but if Jones, Page, and Plant were serious about getting "back together" than David Grohl would be a better choice on drums. He is far superior than Jason. I own a copy of that 07' show, and I like it, but that wasn't Led Zeppelin!
Jason did a great job. Lord, Plant, why didn't you give us a tour? We bought your albums, your eight-tracks, your cds, your dvds...I saw you with Page twice...I DESERVED A TOUR!!!! MUCH MORE RELEVANT THAN SINGING WITH ALISON KRAUS!!! Jesus, Plant!!!
@1105Chance I respect his decision not to tour more than I respect the opinion "we deserve a tour" & not because I saw this show. Did you read the interview's where Plant discussed his prep for the show? He stayed at home, sitting around trying not to speak, drinking herbal tea & the like to sooth his throat. He was a hermit. I wouldn't sentence him to that for weeks on end. He can't wail like a banshee anymore, & that's part of Zeppelin. Unlike many he knows when to say goodbye,I respect that.
@Musicalbeds69 well said. i also respect plant's decision not to tour since he knows he doesn't have the range to handle zep songs faithfully anymore. it's rare to find a singer that will know when to call it quits and not tarnish their legacy. still hoping for a page/JPJ/jason bonham project or at least an official dvd release of this concert.
@Musicalbeds69 That's actually not true. He's still doing Zep songs with Band of Joy. He sang just fine at O2. There were many years when he was travelling solo that he did Zep songs, and I heard all of that nonsense that he couldn't sing like he once could many times before and it was rot. Plant always criticized Daltrey and the Stones for continuing to play (often to the point of insult) when in reality I respect THEM for their dedication and respect for their fans. We can have opinions still!
@1105Chance First off, Jason did not do a "GREAT" job like you state. David Grohl would be a better choice. "YOU"/"WE" don't deserve anything. Do you honestly believe if they toured you would be witnessing Led Zeppelin? Your delusional if you think so. Led Zeppelin died, unfortunately, with the death of John Bonham. Go out and purchase some bootlegs if you want to hear live Led Zeppelin!
@WEBERisAbadCOACH Oh bugger off. I have my bootlegs. I was just speaking tongue in cheek. I would say that I trust Plant and Page's opinion over Jason Bonham compared to your's. I don't know who you think u are you pretentious and angry twat but you are nobody to be criticizing Bonham. Secondly, people loved them at 02 and it would have been nice to have that opportunity in this country as well.
@WEBERisAbadCOACH Lastly you arrogant twat, Robert Plant cryptically hinted at various times throughout the years that they may reunite and tour. During each period where it was being considered, he would go from denying it to playing coy. Lastly, I don't give a rat's ass about your fucking opinion mate, so bugger off! You take yourself far too seriously.
@WEBERisAbadCOACH LMAO. Plant/Page used Jason Bonham on more than one occassion and they speak really well of him, and the critics spoke well. Who the F are you to say he didn't do a great job and what kind of neurotic head case are you to say who should and should not be the best choice. I think that's THEIR choice, not yours so if anyone's overstating their bounds, it's u with your dumb ass comments.
@1105Chance Because it's my opinion asshole. People are entitled to their own opinions aren't they fuckhead? "Overstating my bounds?" Your a fucking moron!
@WEBERisAbadCOACH And I've listened to Zep since the early 70s. I remember the day Bonham died. I don't need you to lecture me like some purist. I saw them at Live Aid, I saw both Plant/Page tours and the Plant/Page tours kicked ass with or without Bonham and Jones. It may not have been the same, but both tours kicked ass. Page was also good with the Black Crowes. One could experience the Who without Keith Moon and the same is true with Bonham, though certainly it is obviously different. DUH!
"David Grohl would be a better choice" I guess Jimmy Page and Robert Plant just aren't as smart as you to decide who they want to be their drummer. I also notice that everyone who has posted that was lucky enough to be there loved the show. You are the only person that has made any bad remark about Jason Bonham. I've heard Jimmy Page TOTALLY CONTRADICT YOU IN INTERVIEWS RIGHT HERE ON YOUTUBE. MONG!!
@shawnbrennan1 I didn't have a problem, but I was using a cheaper camera...hence the crappy sound, lol....so that could be why. Still, there's quite a few bootlegs from decent video cameras, so I figure my experience was common, no matter what you were using.
It was a great gig, the thing I remember most was JPJ's sonic boom from his bass during dazed and confused, it was making my jeans vibrate....no shit.....I seen tickets change hands for funny money!.......was so glad to have seen them.
@sidious1977 It was great, wasn't it? The vibe from the crowd was incredible, everyone so psyched. I was close to the stage..floors were general admission....but I moved back about a third of a way through the show, or at the halfway point, so others could get a chance to get up close. No matter where I was, EVERYONE was having a blast.

He was sloppy even before 77. I don't care what people say, you need to have all your mental faculties in order to play the best you can. Page's self-medication has permanently damaged his chops.
