3) No need to do all of that. Just click your iPod on iTunes and hit restore, you will be back to regular 3.0.

the folder isn't in there...i go to C drive then Documents and settings then my username but which one? i have like 3 usernames for some reason....do i check every one for Application data? because if i'm supposed to do that i have already done it and i still cant find it

It may be hidden. Go to windows explorer hit tools/folder options/view/select show hidden files and folders. Try it again. I'm assuming your on xp...btw

Restore and redo the jailbreak.  If you are using 0.7.2 or higher, try not checking icy and install cydia only.

NP, did you by any chance install icy and cydia? If you did, you may have problems with Cydia and you may have to redo the jailbreak without checking Icy in the selection. If you aren't having any problems, then you're good.

redsn0w 0.8 seems to be having some issues, I would use 0.7.1, but if you use 0.7.2 don't select Icy! Icy causes problems for some reason.

If it doesn't work all you have to do is put the iPod touch in dfu mode, restore with iTunes, and try again.  The iPod touch / iPhone are pretty much unbrickable, trust me.

Yes it will work. You must have 8.2, so your all good man, give it a shot. If you using 7.2 i recommend not installing icy because it causes problems with Cydia for some reason...

If you already have 3.0, there's no need to restore. A full restore to 3.0 is required if you are wanting to jailbreak 3.0 from 2.2.1 or lower jailbroken or non jailbroken though.

It's probably not 100%, but I'd say it's pretty high. I'm seeing a lot of success based on the comments. Yes you can still buy apps from the app store. Check the description box which links to a thread on the ipod touch fans forums that shows which apps work on 3.0. The thread hasn't been updated in a week, so you may have to search through it. At first I got Cydia, and it produced the same results.

I then RE-jailbroke (Didn't restore just did another jailbreak) and included Icy in hopes this might fix it.

It's still the same, my Internet is running slow, games running slow, and my Cydia keeps saying "cached error" and can't read source error. >_>

Hmm dude, try restarting your iPod Touch after installing Cydia. This may sound dumb, but make sure you have an active internet connection lol

I haven't had an serious problems with Cydia. Try posting on the ipodtouchfans forums for help. You could try a hard reset (hold both home and sleep buttons) until it resets. If that doesn't work I don't know sorry.

Do a search for it. Make sure you select all files and folder, scroll down and expand "more advanced options", and check "Search hidden files and folders." After than type in "iPod2,1_3.0_7A341_Restore" without the quotes in the search bar and see if Windows finds it.

Mine is doing this too (ipod touch 1g). I have gone through the jailbreak process more than 10 times now and still this exact thing happens:

follows the steps selecting the ipsw, selected cydia to install, turned off ipod, do the proper sequence to enter dfu mode, and then in redn0w it says uploading first stage, waiting for reboot, and then 2nd and 3rd stage. then it says done. during this my ipod go from black screen, to white screen, then stays black. and if i reboot it a normal ipod not JB.

Yeah do that just incase, but there is something that you can download that will backup your jailbroken apps. I think it's called "aptbackup" from cydia (I think that's what it's called). Download that back up your apps, then after you jailbreak 3.0 find that in Cydia and try to restore them, it may not work but it's worth a try.

No, you have to have the version 3.0 IPSW. So get that first and then jailbreak.
