damn..i was i was a teen back then rather than now..its fucking insane how good music was back in the 70s and early 80s...i can see myself in a club in '82 with this song..man this is what sup..how can there not be anymore of this today? stupid ass record labels and dumb teens
I heard this was a big time skating record when it Showtime was released, although I don't think it was released as a single. "I told you they was jamming!" Word.
Mar 7, 2011 ... Mark Adams, bass player for 70s & 80s funk group Slave, died on March 5th. Details surrounding the cause of death have not been made public.
@loosestudios Thanks for that info. I grew up on Slave and they were the best around. They had their own distinct sound and Steve Arrington was the man!
RIP Mark Adams you inspired so many of us bass players and musicians and some of us were truly blessed to see you display your phenominal skill and it was. An amazing journey to come up in this era of music
This is feel good music brings back memories of life carefree been trying to find this for a while as well looking for the album. Wow good stuff. Thank you!!
Saw this band on a late night in concert television show. The members of the band were sitting on stools and playing the funk out of all their songs. The best "FUNK"band of that era, period.
@dkthg Lol, don't know what it is about it, but I always had the same thoughts. Used to stare at it and listen repeatedly to this song. Thank goodness for headphones or I think I would've drove my folks crazy.
Awesome.....My favorite funk band of all times...I still have the tape cassette and album, the best and of course along with Stone Jam!!..Thanks for posting!

Always loved the track, but also the futuristic "concert in space" album cover art. It fit the song perfectly. Talk about brilliance...

I think that might've been their appearance on the Rock Concert hosted by the late Don Kirshner, around 1981-1982.
"Wait For Me" is the episode-segment where they are indeed sitting on stools. On all the other tracks
they are moving around 'n stuff.

Dude, this isn't a monster jam. This song is far beyond! I wish I could
have seen the hey day of this music and hearing this jam played over some
loud speakers at a house party or club. The beat is stompin, the singin is smooth and the bass is shakin peoples ass like a tamborine.
