@NeriZinkower if it is called "singletrack" in the title after it started, it means it's not properly activated. You have to activate the trial online. Normally when it's started you're presented with an "activate"' dialog.

@Etienne1006 Well, it's doable if you have a voice that sounds similar to glados but it would be alot of work, moreover i'm not so good at french. You need to coach the voice to speak "gladosian", even with the "official french voice" glado's unique intonation mannerism is wasted alot. And you need to also understand french enough to direct where to intonate in a sarcastic way or, passive agressive or trollish... I kept a close watch on this when doing voices for my portal campaign.

@sjmaco well glados is 30% old woman voice , 30% passive agressive tone and 40% melodyne processing, you could get away by using another voice that is younger for glados but at least a decent amount of percentage of these "ingredients" must be present to pass as "GLaDOS"

Hey, I'm trying to make a full-sized GLaDOS AI, and I was wondering if there is a way to make Melodyne do this automatically, and then put it into a speaker.

Then I would combine with Text to Speech and voice recognition programs to make a thinking, talking GLaDOS.

@elementcollector1 the thing is that melodyne never does this live, you need to process any given file you input to it. It needs to be analyzed by melodyne and then you can start playing around with it. It would be kinda cool if celemony could make a real time glados generator plugin like autotune did with the iphone T pain app. It's worth to ask

If you use a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) you could use a compressor (keep the same levels) then use a autotune plugin and make sure its on as much as possible, then turn the formant up to 3. That could work. Then you just need skill to say your words correctly :')

@DoNotHackMyAccount would be a great opportunity for celemony to do that, autotune did it, but their files always need to be analyzed by the audio engine before use. In plugin form : you always have to let melodyne analyze the file so it doesn't seem to work in real time. You'd rather look at antares to do these sort of things I think. THey already have it on the iphone :)

@DoNotHackMyAccount Nothing exists quite yet, though I am looking into it. If I were to design a GLaDOS voice changer, I'd write a program that can do the following:

- Use a free/open source audio processing library to get the mic audio.

- Constrain the voice's pitch.

- Demodulate the voice.

- Raise the formants of the voice.

- And then output to the speakers.

I haven't found a single C/C++ library that can take care of the formants or demodulation, but I'm still hopeful...

Just found the (just about) perfect combination for GLaDOS' voice. Using the Allison voice set in Loquendo TTS, type what you want her to say. Then, take that file and lower the pitch to between C3 and C4 (move each syllable in this approximate range until it sounds right.) Then apply the techniques mentioned in this video, and you should have a near-perfect sounding GLaDOS!

Thanks to ydna008 for mentioning Loquendo in his video description, and CosmicD for teaching me the Melodyne Method.

@HawkpathAS Personally, I purchased the software, but I think I have a free solution. Go to their website, Loquendo dot com, then under the 'Demo Center' tab, there's an option called 'TTS Interactive Demo'. Set the voice to Allison (should be near the top of the list) and type whatever you want her to say. Then, in Audacity, click 'record' and go back to your browser to play the TTS audio. Audacity should capture the sound output, and you can export the sound to .wav to open in Melodyne.
