THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS!! I HAVE JUST SEEN TITO PERFORMED BY ETO - WIWTH THE MOST HORRID SCENERY AND COSTUMES - COULD YOU PLEASE TEL ME WHEN AND WHERE WAS THIS ONE STAGED????
SORRY TO SOUND IGNORANT AND MANY THANKS FOR ANY REPLIES!
THIS IS THE SETTING I WOULD HAVE LIKED, OR TRUE ROMAN!
Whilst I have NO wish to be morbid. In case anyone posting here does not know, this is from Wikipedia:~
Troyanos died at the age of 54(in 1993) in New York City from breast cancer, which had metastasized to her liver. She had successfully concealed her illness from the vast majority of her colleagues.
Troyanos was able to captivate with her truly musical style. She had a sizable instrument but was capable of paring it down to a warm pianissimo - I only wish I'd heard her live when she was on this planet. She is and always will be my favorite!
Rich, silky, VELVETY voice, passionate (but still very "opera seria") interpretation, and perfect coloratura - Troyanos has everything she needs to make this a definitive "Parto."
Tatiano Troyanos is probably my favorite Sesto. Her voice is so rich in colours, emotion, sheer beauty. The only other Sesto that gets to me almost as much as Troyano is Kararova.
Love Troyanos! Can't stand Ponnelle's "stage" direction...Every production of his that made DVD release looks like something out of a damn museum. I know video is not like being there live but my God it's not impossible to capture some of the "live" magic on film.

I find the horrible in the acting. No movement, no action. Its as id the director decided he dislikes people moving! At least moving with consequent actions, more then just pointing at ones heart. Only cool thing: the eye shots.
I find it impossible to look away from Vitellia's hair...but seriously Tatiana Troyanos is absolutely wonderful and velvety voiced! Thanks for posting!!!
Troyanos was a f%^&ing dream. Nothing she ever did fell short of sheer perfection.

I really like Vitellia's dress at 3:13. So pretty and Queen of the Night-ish.

Troyanos did a great job.

Tatiana Trayanos est sûrement la plus grande mezzo-soprane de tous les temps : son jeu et sa voix sont uniques...

Well, I love staging like this. It's better than just a few laser lights in different directions while on stage.
