I find this combination of trolls and fundamentalist christians kind of funny. The trolls just like to spark the sensitiveness of the christians on this board.
You need to learn how to take criticism. You cannot go around and believe that your views are to be respected without anyone questioning or challenging it. Going into defensive positions with "ONE DAY GOD WILL BURN YOU" is not exactly going to make you look good. Another idea is to let down the "jesus loves you" as people simply laugh.

Omg, I haven't heard this song in ages! My mom used to sing it to me when I was a little girl. She probably made it sound silly and off key, which she always does to every song.. sorry.. just one of my mother's twist of humor on life. I remember this song a little differently I don't remember the week thing I remember the whole not gonna blow it out till jesus comes and so on and so forth. It was probably a different song though

Our kids' choir at church used to sing this when I was the pianist for it. I've always loved it- and love the Kingston Trio- it's been a long time since I've heard them.

You don't have to be a christian to like this song.. I'm 'atheist' and I still thing this song is snappy happy and very uplifting.

@happyguy49 I used to go to a christian school even though I'm an atheist. The only thing I liked about assemblies was getting to sing this and clap away lol

@happyguy49 yeah and also considering the fact that the original purposes for this song was not a religious song it was actually a song the African American slaves sang quite frequently.

@uclrichard Maybe u dont understand...Evangilist Christians do not hate people who are not Christain....actually when they try to convert them to Christianity it is out of love...because Christians believe in order to go to heaven you must believe in Jesus Christ because he is your saviour...so to say to kill them because they are trying to help you is very extreme.

Omg, I haven't heard this song in ages! My mom used to sing it to me when I was a little girl. She probably made it sound silly and off key, which she always does to every song.. sorry.. just one of my mother's twist of humor on life. I sang it to my kids and they always told me to shut up after they hit 1st grade. :(( It's ok.. now it's met with a smile. Isn't life grand? Let your light shine!

@PokeDan15 I always sang to my kids and still do, even though grown. I'm glad I did, my daughter is now starting to sing with her friends and learning to play guitar. Which, makes me very happy.
